Ghost Clippers

If I could give zero stars, I would.(2 because it did arrive)

My Wahl clippers developed a serious and frankly alarming fault after only two months of normal use — they started operating by themselves. Not “glitchy,” not “intermittent,” but genuinely switching on and behaving unpredictably in a way that made them unsafe to keep anywhere near skin or even plugged in unattended.

I documented it and sent Wahl clear video evidence showing exactly what was happening. You would think that would be the point where a reputable company simply says, “That’s not right — we’ll replace it.” It wasn’t.

Instead, what followed was an exhausting loop of requests, checks, delays, and procedural obstacles. Re-explaining the issue. Waiting. Being redirected. More hoops. More time lost. More frustration layered on top of something that was already a clear product failure.

This process felt less like customer support and more like I was being put on trial for their defective product.

If you are still set on buying Wahl, I would strongly recommend purchasing through Amazon or eBay instead. At least then you’re dealing with return systems that don’t turn a faulty product into a drawn-out ordeal.

Deeply disappointing experience from start to finish.

I bought a KM supra last November at the Tru North Grooming Show and Pet Expo. Spent $482 on this clipper. It is 5 months old. The hinge is terrible. Already failing. The whole clipper runs hot - that is the body of the clipper. The blades run hot as well. It is supposed to be designed for use with wide blades. Went to the Tru North Show Friday April 3 (brought the clipper with me). They told me they can't do anything and that I should fill out a service form. This I did the day of. They acknowledged my complaint and said 48hrs for a response. It is now April 15th and I have not had any other contact from them. Considering I have two Opal clippers and 4 sapphire clippers which Ukal service with no cost as they have a lifetime warranty. Joyzee also has better customer service. Used to be a big fan of wahl products. This poor experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Not impressed as the clipper is an expensive tool that I bought for my busy salon and staff to use. Customer service has definitely taken a downturn.

Purchased a hair clipper from my local Costco and did not use them yet but I ended up contacting wahl about some questions and never got a reply.
That's a good indication that if I end up with warranty issues, they will not be there for me. I also find the clippers to be very cheaply made. I will be returning them.

I just bought a trimmer set at Costco

I just bought a trimmer set at Costco. 2 differnt Wahl shavers/trimmers and they are both absolutely horrible. The dont cut woth a damn and just pull at my hair. Yes i oiled before using and they are the wost trimmers ive ever TRIED to use. Their not even usable. My wife told me i would not like them when i was buying them and damn if i should of listened. They will be going back as soon as im back home. I can't see how they remain in buisness with quality so poor. A chainsaw would cut better than this trimmef set.

Best Clippers and BRST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I'm writing this review because I have bought all my clippers, new blades ,grease fir clippers, for over 40 years. When I would call about a problem I was having, I got help immediately, if that didn't fix it I'd mail it to them. Customer service is top notch, very kind, caring and very helpful. I've NEVER had a problem with anything eseboughten from me. 40 years ago there were only corded clippers . As time went by new stuff, cordless clippers are a blessing. So when I had called to buy a new Bravara, the girl at Customer service said you should really check Amazon because they can sell them cheaper than us!! So during covid I needed my razors sharpened. I asked her to call me when they were ready and I'd pay her ASAP on the phone. I had 4 blades to get sharpened! I got my box with the blades (sharpened)in it and no bill. I called immediately and told them what happened and the girl said, it's on us. Other people are having a very difficult time and this is just our way of giving back. That really melted my heart ❤️ This is a great company. I will never stop patronizing them!

Refund promised yet ignored for over a year

I purchased a new Wahl Pro Series hair clipper in October 2024, and it malfunctioned immediately — severe noise and overheating. Upon contacting Wahl, I was promised a full refund by Suzie Lee from Wahl Clipper Corporation, and explicitly told I didn’t need to return the unit.

A year has passed, and despite dozens of emails and calls (including to the official regional phone number), Wahl has ignored my requests. I even filed a complaint via the BBB, which was closed because Wahl failed to respond.

I have full documentation of the entire correspondence. The lack of response and the long wait have caused me significant frustration and distress. I believe I am owed not just the refund, but also fair compensation for the time and trouble.

If a large global company values its reputation, it must address this issue promptly.

Stainless Steel Trimmers sub-par

I've owned the Wahl Super Taper clippers for 17 years and the tool is as good as the day I bought it. First class quality and first class customer experience. I look after all my household blade tools very well, from kitchen knives, to garden tools to hair clippers.

I bought the Wahl stainless steel trimmer model #SS2L from my local Shaver Shop three years ago. Recently the power button simply disintegrated with no warning. This is very disappointing from a quality perspective. The unit still functions perfectly, but I have to press the tiny internal button with the end of the little cleaning brush. Which is a pretty rubbish customer experience.

The fact Wahl sells the trimmer power button separately as a spare part suggests to me that it is a known quality issue. Why doesn't Wahl include two spare power buttons with each new unit?

As a long time customer and advocate for the Wahl brand, I am pretty disappointed in the difference in quality between the Super Taper clippers and the trimmer.

I contacted customer service and received this response. "The button disintegrating is not something everyone experiences. For example, we have staff with the first generation and their battery (sic - probably meant button) is intact."

Wahl's opinion that "the button disintegrating is not something everyone experiences" is completely irrelevant to my experience.

The fact that the power button on my trimmers fell apart after less than three years is a clear indication of a quality issue. Wahl is unwilling to accept that fact.

The least they could have done is apologise and send me a replacement power button free of charge. As it is, I have had to pay $15 in postage for a $5 spare part. FWIW the power button arrived promptly and it fitted. $20 for a tiny piece of plastic 🙄

Wahl have now destroyed the loyalty of a 17 year strong supporter of theirs by this single stupid interaction. Off to Trustpilot I go to leave a one star review.

Bonne chance, mes amis!

Not enough batteries; not efficient as it should be.

I recently purchased WAHL Groom Ease 11 piece Battery Trimmer Gift Set. It was to replace another WAHL All in one battery trimmer, which after many years of good use, was falling apart.
I tried the new one for the first time today, but run into two problems. First, the two supplied AA batteries would not fit into their compartment. Then secondly, when I checked their battery life - there was not any. Both batteries were flat.
I managed to force two batteries I had into their compartment and fit the plastic lid back on. The beard trimmer worked fine. But to use the nasal hair trimmer, one of the batteries had to be removed from the beard trimmer to be able to use it. I would have thought it common sense to supply a battery for it, but there we are.
The nasal trimmer was not efficient at doing its job, unfortunately.
With the issues of flat batteries supplied, not fitting into their compartment without some force, the the nasal trimmer not as effective as its job as it should be, I cannot recommend this product.

Broken and missing parts out of the box

Clippers didn't work out of the box. Realised it was missing the guard as well as the spring component not fitted.

Garbage & overpriced product, avoid at all costs.

Now realise even the positive reviews are all about great customer service for BROKEN PRODUCTS...

Approx 3 years ago I purchased one of…

Approx 3 years ago I purchased one of their massage units. After a period of time the insulation covering the electrical wire began to fray where the wire meets the unit. I contacted Wahl and wanted to send the unit back for a repair. They said the cost of a repair would be just about the same cost to purchase a new unit and provided me with the link to their website to purchase a new unit. I did. Now, the new unit, the replacement one has the exact same problem. I contacted Wahl and they want me to send the unit back to them for a repair at my expense. I offered to send them back the faulty unit if they provide pre paid postage. This item is downright dangerous to use. The bare electrical wire is exposed as the insulation around it frays. I cannot believe that such a dangerous product can be sold. I have appliances in my home which are twenty years old with the original wiring and in no way are the electric chords fraying. I am very disappointed in the fact that I have already purchased two of these units, both having the same problem and Wahl not making a replacement. Note - the units are purchased using FSA money and if I request FSA money again for the same item, my insurance carrier is going to raise a suspicious eyebrow or two and which time I will have to complete paperwork to justify purchase of the same item again, now the third time. However, I may take a more aggressive approach and alert the insurance carrier as to the repeated problem with this item offering the suggestion of having it removed from the approved list of supplies.

Force you to subscribe to emails to claim online!

We bought the Clippers under a 5 year warranty 2.5 years ago . They have never charged properly.charge light constantly stays on even when you charge it for 6 hours or more. We have tolerated it for the past couple of years, but then last weekend when we went to cut my husband‘s hair, they cut out and would not recharge And I was halfway through cutting his hair it was an absolute nightmare situation.

I went only to use contact us form and It’s wrong that if you want to submit a claim they try to FORCE you to agree to receive other communications! You cannot submit until you said yes. It says …

“agree to receive other communications from Wahl UK.

By clicking submit below, you consent to allow wahlpro url removed ) to store and process the personal information submitted above to provide you the content requested.”

You cannot force consumers to be spammed to death by your company, poor wording & practice.

UPDATE today 19/5 I’ve managed to get someone to answer the phone now and I’ve opened a warranty claim and they said dispose of it and they will send a new one. If Wahl could work on their online experience they would get 5 stars.🌟

They sent a used and dirty clipper that was defective. Requests to ask for a replacement or refund went unanswered. This company is a fraud. Stay far away. Buy from Amazon or another supplier rather than directly from Wahl.com so you don't risk getting ripped off. What a disappointment of a company..
