Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 211 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report diabolical and atrocious customer service, often enduring long hold times, being repeatedly transferred, and struggling to reach effective assistance. Many also faced significant connectivity problems, including unreliable WiFi and mobile data, resulting in prolonged service outages and unresolved technical issues. Some people were dissatisfied with persistent billing issues, such as incorrect charges, unexpected fees, or being billed for unused services, which complicated cancellations. Conversely, a small portion of people praised specific staff members, often in stores, for being kind, helpful, and successfully resolving their problems and offering advice.

Pre-installation experience was so bad I cancelled straight away.

Ordered broadband from them a couple of weeks ago, and had nothing but problems. Ultimately cancelled before even getting it installed, because their customer service is so awful.

Firstly the Openreach installer didn't turn up, which wasn't Vodafone's fault, but Vodafone acted as though it was normal to just then book in another day. I then called them to ask for the Ofcom required compensation for this cancellation, and they tried to tell me I had to wait for up to 60 days to get this (after initially acting as though no compensation was available).
I pointed out that Ofcom rules are maximum 30 days, at which point the lady on the call became extremely rude. So I cancelled - if they're this bad before installation, I don't want to be their customer!

I wanted to sign up for the gigacube broadband but there is no option to progress with the option you like. I think they expect you to call them but it is easier and cheaper to select an alternative.

DO NOT GO WITH VODAFONE

DO NOT GO WITH VODAFONE. They are thief’s! Go with another provider who will definitely be cheaper. I have been with Vodafone for many years and spent £1000s every year but when there’s a problem it’s not their issue. Avoid this company I am in the process of moving everything to o2.

Not even worth 1 star.

Not even worth 1 star.

I doubt this company can improve. 0 service from them is better than any service at all. Even in underdeveloped countries where service is not always available, providers are 1000000000 more professional. Vodafone, ga je schamen.

A SIM Swap Disaster at Vodafone, Clumber Street, Nottingham..

A simple SIM swap at the Vodafone Clumber Street store was handled so poorly that my phone lost Wi-Fi Calling completely. I was also given incorrect information about why it had disappeared. Vodafone’s senior technical team later confirmed the SIM swap had been done incorrectly, and the only way to fix it was to rebuild my entire network profile. Very disappointing service from the store.

If I could give them a 0 star I would

If I could give them a 0 star I would. This happend to me a my partner on different occasions. I ended my contract with Vodafone in 2022 and they told me I had to pay my outstanding balance and that I would not need to pay anymore as it would be canceled. BUT NO they continue to charge you even tho you already canceled your contract with them which they confirmed on their side. I currently have two missed payments on my file for a contract I wasn’t even on or using anymore.ABSOLUTE JOKE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND USE A DIFFERENT PROVIDER. They also did this to my partner after he had cancel his account with them and paid all of his dues they decided to charge him for 2 months even tho it was canceled. Be wary!!!!!!!!!!!!

Broadband client:

Broadband client:
Between 7pm - 11pm speeds are super slow, I don't recommend especially for gaming.

Also when contract ends, you call them up, even 2-3 weeks before they don't allow you to just finish an expiring contract. And they try to justify it as well, but it makes no sense what so ever.

I called one day and been advised my contract is ending 27 November. I said thank you that's great.

Called on 11 November said "please make sure you don't renew my contract I'd like it to end as I already installed a new broadband"

I been told, no you can't do that. We will charge you for one more month for your protection, you need to give us 1 month in advance notice...

Why would I need to give notice when the contract is ending and I got new broadband? One guy tells me it's ending and another say they will force another month on me haha sad

Vodafone has got progressively worse…

Vodafone has got progressively worse over the last few years. Often shows bars but no data. Doesn’t work next to Liverpool Street station, doesn’t work in many places I visit at the weekends, doesn’t work well on the train between Oxford and London. Will move to EE when I get around to it.

Appalling

Appalling, thieving company, we moved and they are trying to pretend they have a right to charge us for Internet when we returned the apparatus months ago and gave them plenty of notice the contract was ending (cancelling was far from straightforward as they have no simple way to do so- a feeble AI chat then eventually someone with execrable English typing unhelpful replies somewhere). In the past two years they had whacked the monthly broadband they collected by debit debit from £20 to nearly £40. They also stole some money on the payg mobile from me (accepted a voucher, told me it was topped up, then no service! On the phone the man said I needed to have kept the physical voucher from when I had topped it up previously- when they had the number I'd inputted confirmed in the text message. We all switched to EE after that, only mistake was staying with these shysters for Internet a little longer. They claim they can't cancel our contract without knowing our future address, which is nonsense of course. I am never touching the company again in any country, including the one I am emigrating to where they also have terrible reviews.

Worst customer service ever

Took me ages of faffing to get through to a human and then they just dropped off the call. No attempt to get back in touch.
I was trying to switch my broadband - thank goodness I realised how bad they are before I was committed. Now I just need to make sure they don’t take money from my account. I’ll have to deal with my bank I think as trying to get anything out of vodaphone is like getting blood out of stone. If you are considering joining them - think again. Unless you fancy an ulcer from all the stress they will cause you.

Anything and everything is hard work…

Anything and everything is hard work with vodafone. You need more data on holiday. Lose 2 hours. You need a new sim card. chat with one person trying to upsell you. lose 40 minutes. So unhelpful and genuinely don't care about anything other than the sale. Absolutely dreadful company to work with.

Awful company

I've been with Vodafone broadband for 4 years and in the past been with them for at least two years on a different BB contract. The speeds I got werent the best but useable. So I decided to change to 5G broadband with Three. They can give me much better speeds and I can position the router more central in the house away from the main socket.
My contract with Vodafone ended in ten days time but they still wanted another payment. I hadn't given 30 days notice that I didn't know I had to give. I thought it's the end of the contract so it will end. But no it doesn't work like that. Why you have to give 30 days notice to leave a contract that was ending anyway is beyond me. It's how it is I suppose. Contracts are there to suit the business and not the customer.
So now I will never return to Vodafone for BB or mobile. They've screwed money out of me but it has cost them my future custom. My wife's as well as she has the same mobile network as me.

Worst broadband ever but even worse customer support

Broadband order placed with supposed activation date 24th June 2025. Sent one wifi booster and refused to send extra which were needed until the order was completed. So, no wifi in 50% of the house, signal dropped in and out non stop mainly in the evening. They agreed I could leave without penalty and that they'd refund me the payments which they accept they shouldn't have taken BUT said I couldnt leave until the order was completed and my refund would be processed at that point. They just kept saying there was a problem with the phone line and a separate problem with the broadband which was stuck? So it got passed from one team to another , each being unable to sort it out, including their appropriately named "Jeopardy " team. They finally completed the order on 31st October so it only took them 4 months! Today they have said nope nope nope no refund for you, even though their service was not working / not provided and or was not as described and or was not fit for purpose....

Ive been a Vodafone mobile customer for 20yrs and if I wasn't tied into a phone contract currently I would ditch their mobile service too.

Their customer service is an absolute disgrace. Honestly, just avoid them for broadband at all costs because they truly do not give a flying fig....

If I could have given a zero star rating I would have....
