Evil company

On top the board of directors and all employees working for this dark evil devil minded blood sucking company ..This is the most inhumane company ever with no affection or campassion with humanbeings they see each living person as a milk cow , just pay the bill to us and they dont reimburse any cent , the persons or what ever you name them they are the most evil creatures on this planet . I curse them one by one and hope they will suffer from all bad infections and viruses so bad and so severe . so they can feel the same how we feel when they dont accept or approve declarations .

vgz excellent

I'm very happy with vgz, it is excellent and covers more medicines and a wider range of praktijken than dsw and asr. All for similar price. I had a call with the call center and they were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

As with any insurance company

As with any insurance company, scam seems to be in their nature: they make onboarding easy and collect your money in advance.

However, when you actually need something from them, it’s a completely different story. You get the slowest response ever, if you get one at all.

And if you try to close your account, you’re met with either a 404 error or “busy” phone lines.

I’m not sure how businesses like this operate in the EU under all the regulations. It makes you wonder who benefits from it.

Difficulties into cancelling, relication abroad

I need to go living and working abroad. The system does not send email for confirming my cancellation. I have contacted the customer service but the problem remains. I will not pay my next bill as I will be living abroad and I don't need any insurance anymore. Matteo Ferrini

AVOID.

Disgusting company. Tried to continue charging me after I already moved out of the Netherlands the previous month. Difficult to contact them, their website and chatbot are useless.

You can cancel the insurance per app (go to service and then followed by 'Verzekering opzeggen', by telephone, per letter or to register at a new insurance and then they will cancel your insurance with us.

Terrible customer service - never again

Terrible customer service. They refused to pay my health expenses during travel. Due to an unexpected event i had to go to hospital. TI have provided all the recipts and documents I had available, i even wrote a full explanation. Their answer was: You will not receive any compensation. I am changing insurance end of year.

Not happy with this insurer

I always have issues with the reimbursement of the invoices. Either they change the criteria and requirements from one month to another or they make mistakes. I am tired of always being on top of it and check whether they were process correctly or not. I advice to choose a different insurance company if you want to avoid constant problems.

Absolutely Horrible

Absolutely Horrible. I had to file a declaration twice and spend hours on the phone with customer service, just to find out that THEY DID NOT READ MY DECLARATION IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! They should be sued and repair for all the extra worry and time that they caused me. INCOMPETENTS AND ARROGANT!

horriblest company out of the 4 I been with

I have to put one as I can’t put zero. I have had this health insurance for three years. First of all the xenophobia is shocking. I ask politely can i ask my question in English? They hang up the phone or ask me why i don’t speak dutch? I ask them to help me about a referral and one time about a waiting list as my huis arts told me by law they are supposed to help me with and they come back and say we can not help you period! I get money taken out of my account with out them having to give any explanation what it is for and then it is up to me to phone several times and talk to several people before finally i get a person they can explain to me what it is for. In short the customer services is incredibly unprofessional inconsistent and just bad. It is always a fight to be reimbursed for anything.

What kind of customer service do you have?

The VGZ customer service is the worst. I have been trying to find out if mijn zorgverzekering covers a specific doctor. I have called several times, used the chat function on the website, but only one person at VGZ has given me a CLEAR answer regarding whether the doctor is covered, out of the five people I spoke to. Also, I don't know how many times the calls were disconnected by VGZ or the chat function stopped working. It took me 1 hour to find out this simple information...

Who am I paying money to, again? You have definitely lost a customer...

Worst company ever!

if you want to waste your money, time and sanity=> please choose them! you are in for a ride!
We are expats living in NL mor almost 2 decades, so we are very familiar with Dutch insurances but VGZ is really something....

- the different departments of this company do
NOT talk to each other: the client has to FIGHT to have someone on the phone and be told "I am sorry, it is another department issue, we cannot do anything about it"...then you are connected to the other department and hear the same so they connect you back to the initial department, which claim it is the other's department 'job. And when eventually you are tired of it and start to complain, then both departments agree for once....=> they do not/cannot communicate together....so you are just stuck and no solutions is offered.

We choose the "eigen keuze" and paid more for it, yet we need to ask everytime for permissions for care abroad in EU (better care and wayyyy cheaper, with actually caring doctors/teams!):
-the answer is never received within the 2 weeks delay and the person on the phone (although friendly) always lied that it was 3 weeks minimum but it is written 2 weeks, not 3.

- So you have to file a complaint (first you need to be able to find the page because the VGZ website is made in a such way, that you very easily end up in a loop without accessing what you want): to make a complaint, you need to receive their answer by post....funnily enough it is never received although I always heard "it was sent" (were have zero issue with our post if not with VGZ...)

So even before filing a complaint, you first need to fight (again) to receive the refusal: I contacted VGZ via the chatbot, and was told sending the document was not possible. I first needed to send an email asking/allowing them to contact me by mail (while we received emails regularly...)...
So all of this, and you are still nowhere to get your medical help...(this already took 1 month...) since the refusal letter is nowhere to be seen...so we cannot start the legal complaint...
your care is urgent, it does not matter to them!

- Anyway, the care abroad was always refused because "it is not covered in the basic insurance", which is a blatant lie and easily proven otherwise...(please note several person wrote it also on trust pilot so it is not a mistake but I suspect "a tactic" from this company)

- And of course, they want a lot of paperwork to see if you are eligible, even before you even met a single doctor: so concretely, they ask you how much everything is going to cost, while you did not met the doctor yet. So of course, you cannot fill the form fully, so it is refused automatically.

- and if you are brave enough to dare to ring them...be prepare to talk to a bot, which will stop the conversation because a "sms with a link and all the answers to your question will be sent".....biiiiiiiip

This company is a nightmare of bureaucracy and several medical professionals mentioned "VGZ would not be my choice for an insurance" and we know understand why. Of course, they have to follow rules, we all do, but sometimes you also needs a minimum of common sense, not to mention proper consumer service for your clients.

We have several medical providers who now just blatantly refuse to deal with VGZ and and we cannot wait to switch to a different provider.

We chose them because they were cheaper with a collective agreement (we pay ±370/month) so we are not on the minimum contract but it does not matter: pure loss of money and everything is "fighting".

As a chronically ill patient, I do not need to fight with my own insurance but I learnt that they just want the money and do not do the work.

A pity, I could not put a "zero" star, one star is already far too much!

Ik begrijp dat het erg vervelend is dat wij de aanvraag voor vergoeding van zorg in het buitenland afgewezen hebben. Helaas kan ik via deze weg niet nagaan wat er precies aan de hand is en waarom we de aanvraag afgewezen hebben. Wanneer je het niet eens bent met de afwijzing dan kun je jouw klacht altijd voorleggen bij de Stichting Klachten en Geschillen Zorgverzekeringen (SKGZ). Deze onafhankelijke stichting neemt jouw klacht verder in behandeling stelt vast of wij jouw aanvraag juist hebben beoordeeld. Daarna kunnen zij een bindend advies uitbrengen.

Rude to international customers

If you speak English don't choose them.....every time I call customer service with a simple question, asking politely and I speak in English, before I even finish my second sentence they hang up on me....no it is not connection problem.... it happened multiple times with different employees...they do it because the don't speak English.....I don't even have to say anything else.....completely ridiculous....in 2023......

Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely, just absolutely ridiculously horrible.
I do not want to explain the whole story because I've had to talk to five different people at this horrible customer service already over the past three months to try and get this issue solved. It's just ridiculous. I think this is the first time I leave a bad review, overall I'm a very patient person but this company just crosses the line in their incompetency.

Wat je ook doet, neem vooral geen verzekering bij VGZ. Als je een keer hulp nodig helpt staat de klantenservice niet paraat, zelfs niet als je een drie verschillende keren belt, elke keer tenminste een half uur wacht en vijf verschillende mensen moet spreken.

My claim was handled extremely quickly. Within 3 working days I received a response, and the compensation. As a new client I wasn't sure what to expect, so this was a nice experience. Thumbs up!

Horrible!!

Horrible!!! Absolutely terrible! All declarations are rejected without a good explanation. When you try to call, you wait for 20 minutes, then they say they will look into your case and ask you to stay on the line and after a few minutes, the call timer is off (all their calls end automatically after 30 minutes) and your call is ended without getting any help! You cannot send an email. Absolutely ridiculously!

SCAM Horrible horrible "health…

SCAM Horrible horrible "health insurance". My account says I was reimbursed for a number of things that should be under the basic care however I never recieved the money. I cancelled my insurance and continue to recieve charges from them. I've called 4 or 5 times and each time there is a 40 minutes wait and when I eventually get through to an employee and explain my situation I am placed on hold fo another 15 minutes until their end of the line hangs up! Stay far away from this scamming company.
