No waiting around to get our poorly pet seen by the out of hours emergency vets. Good directions received on how to find their location. Friendly professional service.

It was good that we were able to be seen in good time however the woman on the emergency line was wholly unhelpful and didn't know anything. She suggested we go into the surgery because of this and based on what service we received at the vet and cost associated, we would have been better waiting. My suggestion is that the call handlers remind people they can book a virtual consultation with a vet for £25. I imagine this would save hundreds of people from wasted money and wasted time visiting the surgeries out of hours.

Next, the extortionate cost. Now, I understand an out of hours service means more costs may be involved, however this was hardly "out of hours". It was 3pm on Saturday.
You were charged £296 to walk in the door and have the vet and look at our puppy for five minutes, taking her temperature and checking her stomach.
They gave her an anti nausea injection and gave us some probiotic for home (which we paid for on top of the original £296). Then on top of that to actually inject the anti nausea they added a charge of £20.42 and to just hand us the probiotic (which he had right there) it was an added £16.45. Absolute joke. I at least expect that to be included in the £296 we had already paid!
You can respond with your costs page like you have other reviews, however this does not justify anything and is clearly 50/50 vets/money making scheme.

The vet who dealt with my poorly tortoise was exceptionally approachable, kind and explained everything to us at each stage. It was excellent service that helped calm our nerves during what is a high stress experience: bringing a poorly pet to an emergency vet visit!

Staff were pleasant, reassuring and carried out the proceedure perfectly. Only thing I would mention is the price. Just to see my dog was £296 - I was lucky enough to be able to pay this amount but many other sick animals will go untreated in an emergency situation because of this extautianate fee.

I felt that guidance given was altered at a very stressful time and seemed to be linked to charging extortionate amounts of money for hospitalising my dog for a second time when this was not necessary

My cat was given a thorough examination and a diagnosis given straight away with relative information. The staff were considerate and pleasant as it was a worrying situation and I had taken my cat in on an emergency appointment.

The vet was fabulous - very reassuring, great with Betty. She explained everything really clearly. Could not fault the visit.

We then went to the vets under your advice who told us that our dog has sprained his ankle and prescribed him some painkillers. A+ service and especially on a bank holiday. Thankyou
