Extremely poor customer care and warranty handling

I am very disappointed with my experience dealing with Vauxhall regarding a warranty fault on my Vauxhall Corsa (73 plate), which I purchased used from Arnold Clark in December 2024.

On 3 December 2025, the vehicle suffered a serious fault and became undriveable. An authorised Vauxhall service centre diagnosed the issue as a failed Electronic Control Unit (ECU) — a fault they advised is not uncommon. The car has been off the road ever since and required recovery at my own cost.

While the repair is technically covered under warranty, the handling of the situation by Vauxhall has been extremely poor:
• Long delays due to parts backorder
• The replacement part was sent to the wrong service centre, causing further delay
• I was not informed of this error by Vauxhall Customer Care — I only found out because the service centre investigated themselves
• Vauxhall repeatedly deflected responsibility between departments (Goodwill, Parts, Customer Care)
• Requests for escalation were refused, with Vauxhall stating they would not engage further
• No courtesy car or meaningful mobility support was provided

I rely on my car to get to and from work at a hospital, including over the Christmas and New Year period when public transport was limited. I’ve had to depend on family members for transport due to Vauxhall’s delays and lack of ownership of the issue.

I want to be clear that the service centre (Lindsey’s Vauxhall) have been excellent and helpful throughout — my complaint is entirely with Vauxhall Customer Relations and their handling of warranty repairs, communication, and accountability.

Overall, this experience has left me with no confidence in Vauxhall’s customer service or aftersales support. A vehicle under warranty should not be off the road for weeks with no accountability, poor communication, and no support for the customer.

I would not recommend Vauxhall based on this experience.

Not impressed

Vivaro Life EV 9 seater.
Don’t bother with this electric 9 seater. Hopeless range, no sensors on back, no camera .
Ridiculous in this day and age.
The 50kwh is hopeless . Pay the extra and get the 75kwh and ensure you get at least sensors when ordering because you will need them , failing that get a different manufactured 9 seater!!!
Not impressed.

STAY AWAY FROM VAUXHALL

I can’t stress enough anyone reading this review Please please stay away form this company they’re rogue and there warranty is a lie, be very careful, every communication is via email takes 3-5 days to even respond. I’ve dealt with many dealers and Vauxhall is the worst dealer in the world. If you buy you’ll come to regret it. I now have to fork out for a forensic examination to prove their manufacturing is what caused the issue then I’ll have to take them to court. The biggest mistake of my life purchasing a vauxhall

Vauxhall are con artists

I submitted a warranty claim on 10/12, which was rejected. I raised a complaint on this and have been given the details on why this was rejected. Since then I have chased via email, and via phone, and continue to not have had any contact from Vauxhall regarding this complaint; I have sent over the additional details needed to accept the warranty claim, and had no response.

When I have called, the agents do not have the capacity to send emails or phone calls. I've had two case handlers in this time and have heard back from neither, and each time I've called they've been conveniently out of office.

I truly believe that Vauxhall are running on a "make it difficult so people give up" basis, and frankly their Customer Care team dealing with the calls deserve better, as do their customers.

Shocking customer service

⭐ 1 Star – Failure to Comply with Recall and Consumer Law Obligations
I am extremely dissatisfied with Vauxhall/Stellantis’ handling of a manufacturer-issued recall affecting my vehicle. Despite receipt of a formal recall notification and the vehicle subsequently suffering a failure consistent with the defect described, Vauxhall customer services and the authorised repairer have failed to progress the matter in accordance with their legal and regulatory obligations.
Under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and established recall principles, manufacturers are required to remedy known defects that render a product unsafe or not of satisfactory quality. A recall exists precisely to prevent customers from bearing the cost or risk of failures arising from known manufacturing defects. Despite this, I have been advised to authorise intrusive diagnostic work at my own expense and liability, prior to any acceptance of responsibility under the recall scheme.
This position is unreasonable and undermines the purpose of a recall. It places an unfair burden on the consumer and appears inconsistent with both the spirit and intent of consumer protection legislation and manufacturer recall obligations.
Communication throughout has been poor, inconsistent, and lacking transparency. No clear justification has been provided for the refusal to proceed under the recall, despite evidence being available. As a direct result of this failure, I have been forced to escalate the matter to senior executive level, the Motor Ombudsman, and the media.
The handling of this case falls well below the standard expected of a major vehicle manufacturer operating within the UK regulatory framework. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend reliance on Vauxhall’s recall scheme or customer service processes.

Absolutely disgusted with Vauxhall…

Absolutely disgusted with Vauxhall customer care services, they do nothing to help the customer just want to blame everybody else
We purchased a brand new 2025 Vauxhall Corsa “YES” in Eucolyptus Green, from York Ward Rowlett of Wellingborough in August 2025, the Vauxhall specification sheet for our specified model clearly states that the vehicle is supplied c/w the following,

Colour matched Dashboard and door inserts, AS WELL AS COLOUR MATCHED CARPET FLOOR MATS provided by the retailer i.e York, Ward Rowlett ,

We have now owned this car for 5 MONTHS we still DO NOT have the colour coded carpet mats, we have contacted Vauxhall customer services on numerous occasions we have service reference codes, we have E-mails, stating it is NOT their issue, we have contacted YWR approx 10 times and discussed the issue, YWR are clear in their responses they have ordered the said carpets mats but CANNOT get Vauxhall to supply them,

Vauxhall customer care services have no interest and just provide a lip service, they do nothing to care

Don't get a Vauxhall

If you have come here wondering if you should get a new Vauxhall, then my advice is don't.
My brand new car worked for a month and then broke down. I've been without transport for over 4 weeks now. Multiple RAC call outs and trips to dealer to fix but they don't seem able to or willing to seek guidance from Vauxhall directly. The car works for a day when it comes back, then breaks down again. No support from Vauxhall customer care who issue case numbers but don't actually do anything or even respond to requests for help. Car is currently dead on my drive.
Just don't do it, plenty of other brands out there but I wouldn't recommend Vauxhall (or any other Stellantis group car) to anyone. I've had over 20 cars but this was the first Vauxhall and the worst vehicle ever. I was warned against getting one, just wished I'd listened

Refused a Recall putting my daughter, fiancé and their 7 month old son in danger

I write obo my daughter who contacted her local Vauxhall Dealer in Kingstown, Carlisle regarding a recall on her vehicle. This recall is a serious issue affecting the fuel pipe. Her car is barely driveable (only just over a year old) and has terrible petrol fumes entering the car. She is driving around with her 7 month old son, my grandson in a death trap and the staff at Vauxhall state they want nothing to do with her or the vehicle! Yes she is behind in the Service payments due to being on maternity leave but a recall is a separate issue and a very serious one at that. Who would believe a company of this size has such bad customer reviews. Shocking. I’d never go there for a new car and I wouldn’t advise anyone else.

Fuel efficiency

I have been driving a Vauxhall Corsa auto petrol 2025 since November 2025. I am not quite sure if the GPM is true. The car is not fuel-efficient. I make only 350 miles per tank full of petrol. The GPM mentioned is supposed to be equal to the Skoda Fabia auto, 2022. But with Skoda, I used to ride 450-500 miles.

Advance Vauxhall on Slough

Advance Vauxhall on Farnham Road in Slough. I went in to buy a spare part. A gentleman came to the desk and did not even speak to me. Horrendous customer Service. Even when he returned he just handed the card payment machine. He mentioned the price only. No please or thank you. I informed him that manners cost nothing. I acknowledged the car service person as he appeared friendly. But the parts guy has put me right off going back to Vauxhall for my new purchase. I think I will go for a Ford instead thanks to the parts representative!!

The vauxhall garage in colwyn bay…

The vauxhall garage in colwyn bay charged me nearly 2k to replace the failed wetbelt and clean the engine out. They refused to do this under warranty, even though the car had done less than 60ks ! Customer services agreed to pick me up from the train station on the day of collection but when i got there and rang sorry driver off sick? Very poor service happy to take my money but not even a lift from thd train station? Overall a very poor service and uncaring support for a customer using one of their company's cars. Vauxhall Grand land X do not buy the wetbelt system is not fit for purpose.

Usually when dealers persist in ringing you 2 and a half years into a 4 year deal to upgrade your car it makes you think they have something to offer you in terms of a deal of some sort.

Advanced Vauxhall in Watford have zero , nothing to offer at all , don't bother always hated Vauxhall's but somehow ended up with one thought I'd give them a chance.

You sell bang average family cars that do everything it says on the tin , nothing more you need to be a bit more humble you are Vauxhall not Audi , BMW or Mercedes.

Far too expensive good luck selling Corsa's for 24k

Just being ignored!

I collected my Vauxhall Mokka on 24th September, and within a few weeks and several faults later, on 8th October I put in a complaint to the Vauxhall complaints team.
It's been over 8 weeks since my initial email and I have yet to hear back anything despite sending weekly emails and attempting to call. Each time I have called I am either hung up on, told I can not speak with a manager, or informed my case handler will phone me back. I've still yet to hear from them. Such terrible customer service.
Vauxhall please stop ignoring me!

Awful Customer Service

I have a very serious formal complaint with Customer Service. I have received nothing but a case number when I first reported it on 26/11/25. When I telephone I am told I cannot speak to a Manager or even the person apparently handling my complaint. I am promised that they will contact me but they never do. Looks as if I will simply have to wait out another two weeks and then escalate to the Motor Ombudsman.

TIMEWASTERS……

Timewasters…..I had a corrosion issue with my Corsa. The garage informed me that this is a ‘known problem’ with the model and that Vauxhall should rectify at their cost. I contacted their so-called customer service to advise them of the issue and agree a solution. Over several phone calls, they took all of the details of myself and the car, including the registration number. They then asked me to visit one of their approved bodywork garages to verify/diagnose the problem, which they did within a few minutes of having it up on the ramps. They confirmed that it was an issue with the car itself and was not due to wear and tear. Myself and Vauxhalls approved garage then spent over an hour on the phone with Vauxhall, providing the details etc all over again. They said that they would pass it on to their internal team who would ring me with a way forward. Instead of ringing, they followed up with a ‘no reply’ email telling me that since the car was beyond their 3 year warranty period, they were not prepared to do anything, and I would have to pay to rectify the fault myself. ……Vauxhall knew as soon as I gave them the registration number in the first phone call exactly how old the car was and if it was outside the three year deadline. Why on earth didn’t they just say this at the outset? instead of wasting my time and the time of their approved repairer by giving us the run around, to simply state at the end what they knew in the first place. Shocking inefficiency and casual disregard for their customers. I will never have another Vauxhall again and the sooner this awful organisation goes out of business, the better.

The rear right shaft of my 2020 model…

The rear right shaft of my 2020 model Grandland X 4 Hybrid broke. There was no impact or damage. It's a bit strange for a car of this age. My car has been at the authorised service centre for repairs for 20 days. But there is no replacement shaft available and my car cannot be repaired. I sent an email but received no reply.

Bought a grandland 2024 there was no owners manual in the car, after 6 phone calls, (I had a complaint number) and a letter to the MD , nothing, I feel stupid because I believed them that one would be sent to me, but I realised that they were the liars, truly an immoral MD and a crap company, stick with the Japanese, German or French companies, they know all about customers relations, vauxhall are just a 10th rate company run by a charlatan.
