Don’t bother

My wife was wanting to expand her wardrobe after having our kids. I thought this would be a nice way to do that. I was wrong.

The clothing selections are random and often very inappropriate for both age, season, and general trends in fashion. We weren’t looking for anything crazy upscale but sending us a wool coat in March, or (ugly) polyester pants (that aren’t the right size) mid summer in a sub-tropical climate is ridiculous.

We’ve had to exchange 60% of what has been sent. At a cost of $15 per box.

WOW what a scam this is!!

WOW what a scam this is!!! I went for the $99 slightly upscale version. My first box was a top and pants. Both were quite nice. Even had tags and prices (making sure I knew I got a deal, I assume).

Second box was icky: top, jacket, full-on plastic-feeling polyester. And a bracelet. Off market brand, no pricing.

I requested a return ($25 for the pleasure of being scammed) but did not get any response within their 48 hour promised response time. I sent email to theother address, but have yet to hear back.
I expect I won't hear from them so I will report it as fraud

Edit: shortly after they posted their reply I got an email with a return link. The quality is as I reported. I accidentally used an old email address when posting this, but I am not making it up.

Hi there,

We’re truly sorry to hear that you feel disappointed, though after reviewing our records, it appears this review may not be tied to a legitimate account. The name provided is incomplete, and we have no support tickets or order history matching this description. If you’re a real customer, we’d be happy to help resolve any issue—just reach out directly to urbanebox@urbanebox.com with your full name and order number.

That said, for clarity to others reading:

A prepaid return label was issued for every legitimate return request during this timeframe. We do ask for returns within 7 days and clearly outline the $25 return processing fee up front—this is standard and comparable (and often lower) than other services like Stitch Fix or Trunk Club, who charge styling fees and higher markups.

Urbanebox has proudly been in business for over 10 years, providing value-based subscription boxes with hand-selected items from reputable brands—many of which retail at higher price points than our $99 price tag.

We understand subscription services aren’t for everyone. But accusing any company of fraud without providing identifying information—especially after receiving product in both months—does a disservice to the many customers who enjoy and understand the model.

We’re always here to help and welcome constructive feedback from verified customers.

Sincerely,
The Urbanebox Team

Save your money

Save your money. I tried this box out after several other less than impressive clothing subscriptions. The very first issue is a very misleading and not clear price you pay and what that entails. It was $80 for me to learn that I would be receiving two or three pieces but I could not return them, they asked me zero questions about my style, and worst - they absolutely refused to respond to any of my messages. They do not have a phone. They will not respond to emails or requests for assistance.

Do not give these people your money. You will be disappointed and unable to recover whatever you paid to 'join' this service.

Beyond the customer service and unclear pricing plan - the clothes were awful. I received a flesh colored fair isle sweater dress and a 100% acrylic cardigan for my first (and only) box. I tried to return them both but was informed they don't take returns. If anyone would like the ugliest sweaterdress I've ever seen, message me. You can have it.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, but we believe there may be some confusion. At Urbanebox, we absolutely allow returns and exchanges. Refunds and exchanges for different items are available (minus shipping costs), and size exchanges are free.

Our goal is to offer one of the most affordable clothing subscription boxes in the industry, which is why we charge a small shipping fee for refunds and exchanges — it helps keep overall costs down for all our customers.

To make a return, you simply need to log in to your account and fill out the return form. We don’t offer phone support because we’ve found that email communication is quicker and more efficient. All emails are responded to within 24 business hours, ensuring fast service. Additionally, our website’s FAQ page provides detailed information, and subscribers can generate prepaid shipping labels, update subscriptions, and cancel accounts directly through their profiles.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you’ll consider giving us another try.

Stay away. Stay FAR, FAR away.

I decided to try out the $75 subscription after reading an article on Men's Health. I told my wife about it, and she also subscribed. It wasn't until we had already paid for our respective subscriptions that we read customer reviews (I know. Stupid).

My wife got her box first - the two shirts in the box looked NOTHING like the pictures which she selected in the original questionnaire. In fact, they look like they would have been in style at least 20 years ago.

I was still moderately hopeful that I would at least get some decent clothes, and boy was I wrong. As with my wife's shirts, these looked nothing like the questionnaire I filled out. I had also specified that I wear slim fit shirts, and both the shirt and sweater I received are relaxed fit. They also look like items you would find in the clearance section at TJ Maxx. Definitely not what they advertise on their website.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you and your wife didn’t have the experience you were hoping for. At Urbanebox, we offer a wide range of brands such as Ben Sherman, Maceoo, Calvin Klein, and many more. Some of these brands work with big retailers, which means you might come across similar pieces in stores, but we also collaborate with smaller, unique brands that you won’t find in those stores.

Our goal with the clothing subscription box is to make trying new outfits convenient and fun. We understand that preferences vary, and that’s why we offer free exchanges and refunds. If you’re unhappy with the items you received, you’re not stuck with them – we provide prepaid shipping labels to make returns easy and hassle-free. Urbanebox is flexible, allowing you to exchange or return items until you find the right fit.

Please reach out to our customer support team, and we’ll be happy to assist you with a return or exchange to ensure you’re satisfied!

Thank you!

This company was difficult to contact

This company was difficult to contact, had below-par clothing, and would not allow me to get my purchase-priced clothes in one order, making sending clothing back impossible. My password does not work, and a reset also does not work. Terrible

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY!!!!

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY!!! I made a one time payment to recieve a few boxes thinking that the clothes were going to look some what like the clothes they advertise. Not so. I recieved clothes that I wouldn't even gift away. If you return or exchange it they charge you a fee and all of the clothes are cheap and outdated. There is no one to call and they do not return emails.

So I was looking up clothing…

So I was looking up clothing subscription boxes and came across Urbanebox. I was a little skeptical at first due to the mix reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. The clothes were of good quality and it matched by style.

Do not subscribe, it's not worth it!

I completed the quiz and entered the details on the website to provide details of my preferred clothing recommendations and I believe I got something that was just high inventory on their end. Not what I was looking for, doesn't it seem like "Luxury" clothing, more like expensive off-brand downtown clothing?

The worst part is that I have to pay $15 to get a refund so I end up losing either way.[Update: It took more than 2 weeks to hear back for instructions on refund] I tried stitch fix at the same time and MUCH better customer experience. It's more expensive but you get better options for the styles you select, and outfit recommendations and their app / website experience is much more user-friendly.

the worst

the worst, ugliest, cheap, hassle of a subscription box company I have ever tried. unfortunately my mom got me a $500.00 gift certificate to this place but their items are trash. so lucky for them they got $500 of our money because I got the first box- 2 of the ugliest, frumpiest shirts that you are out of luck if you dont like them(I guess there are not choices?!) they are going straight to the goodwill. they are honestly ripping people off because the items they are sending you are not worth what you are paying for. and they have zero customer service.

Buyer Beware!

I've been attempting to reach out to this company for almost four weeks now. However, my $600 investment has only resulted in receiving one box filled with inappropriate clothing. Among the items, I received two tops, one of which is a button-up shirt in size 5XL! The other is a long-sleeve microfiber top resembling Old Navy's apparel. Unfortunately, there was no receipt or documentation included in the package. Despite requesting an exchange, I haven't received any response via electronic means, including Facebook, their website, or the designated email for contact. Caution to potential buyers!
