I recently completed my Smart Meter Engineer apprenticeship with Universal Skills Group, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience.
From start to finish, the support was brilliant and the course was easy to follow. It gave me the skills and confidence I needed to step into the role feeling fully prepared.
Adam was a fantastic tutor, always friendly, patient and happy to help. He really took the time to make sure I understood everything and supported me all the way through.
I’m really grateful for the opportunity and would highly recommend Universal Skills Group to anyone thinking about becoming a Smart Meter Engineer.

I have been an apprentice at universal skills group in Wakefield for 6 months as a smart meter apprentice. I came into this knowing nothing at all, but felt reassured, engaged and saw my confidence grow with the help and support from the staff. Professional set up with fantastic staff who are always there to assist and help, with a big shout out to Adam B who was an amazing tutor!

I've just finished a week's refresher course to help me with my job, the trainer John F was amazing, taking his time to explain every aspect of what we were doing.
Amazing facilities and amazing staff, very welcoming and helpful all of the time.

The best place to learn with outstanding staff

These folks ran my ACS and MOCOPA course for my work in 6 months. Excellent staff, always approachable and let you check your understanding for the work. I think the programme itself was extremely well structured with it being split between coursework and field work. John Fazackerly who ran the course was absolutely fantastic he gave every single one of us the push we needed to be our best selves and get qualified. Thank guys! Hope you'll be doing my RTS training.

Fantastic tutors, really down to earth friendly. Learnt so much, wanted to do more. Great classrooms and workshops. Everything you need is around to make your leaning more enjoyable.

I came in knowledgeable about boilers, left knowing about meters, and feeling like the energy superhero 'Black Lightening'. The team at the centre made the whole process hands-on, high-energy, and weirdly fun. Special shout-outs to Tim, Matt, Katy, both Mike's, and Becka for letting me keep nicking pens.

Trainers were legends, the atmosphere was great, and I now install meters like it was my calling. Massive thanks to all the staff, as you've helped me to spark a new chapter in my life.

Good to learn the skills from Universal Skills. Use the most simple ways to let me understand the electric concept. Tutors with rich experience in the industry and related knowleage, it is really benefit for me to work in the future. Highly recommend!!

It was a great experience here. I learned a lot from this massive centre. The team was great and the atmosphere was so nice.And the tutors here like Tim Cowan and Matt Giles were brilliant. Learned a lot from both guys highly recommended if you really want to do in gas and electrical stuff come and join this centre get the qualification and explore the world waiting for you in your career.

Had a great week up-skilling to 3 phase Adam was very helpful and articulated when teaching the facilities were good. Big thanks to Adam for helping us through the up-skilling also shout out to Kev for the biscuits.

Just completed my 3 phase with skills group Adam B was our tutor for the week and yet again his professional teaching style and care about his pupils is second to none, again a pleasure to complete another course at universal skills group.
