There is absolutely no way to get an answer from them . It is unacceptable. I can show a copy of my attempt to talk to someone. There is no way to reach customer service. Simply unacceptable
Turkish Airlines left all three of my…
Turkish Airlines left all three of my bags in Manchester, took 4 days to deliver them to Hong Kong, and ruined my only chance to see my secondary school friends before they left for university because I had no clothes. Completely irresponsible service.
Staff are the problem
Flights actually on time. Planes ok. Staff incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instanbul airport prices make Zurich look cheap. Will not use again.
This airline is joke
This airline is joke. Only book with this airline if you want a ton of hassle and the most foul time of your life. The airline staff honestly live in a world of their own, to them disrespecting and humiliating the passengers is the top priority, like they're life depends on it. In the actual plane, I got given food without the main meal, and the air hostess said that's what I ordered. Are you a lunatic?? Would never never travel with this airline again. Think twice before travelling with them and see all the rest of the reviews for yourself.
Traveled from Birmingham to Phuket
Traveled from Birmingham to Phuket, collected my suitcase and it was smashed really badly, looked for there customer services but couldn't find them, went to the airport customer services they tried to locate turkish customer service but couldn't find them, I had an ongoing flight to Koh Samui so had to dash off but filled a claim form in online, was declined compensation for the case as I did not goto customer service at the airport???
Paid £32 for a seat on the return journey, went to check in my seat was given to someone else, said I had to have another seat, got back home I went to ask for a refund for the seat and was told I bought the seat from a third party so they can't refund me. I have a receipt from Turkish airlines for the seats I bought.
Ive put a compensation in now for the case and seat money. If they fail to compensate me ill be going to the small claims court.
Just as a follow up to you emailing me i am not going through the procedure of going through the feedback route I have done this 2 times wirh no success and i am not wasting my time doing it again, I sent a long reply to your email to be replied i can't reply to you, I have wasted hours of my time with you and now im going to take you to court for all my losses and the court fees.
“From RIMOWA Damage to 150+ Empty Promises — Turkish Airlines Failed to Resolve My Claim”
Title: 150+ Promises, Zero Resolution — My Turkish Airlines Baggage Claim Nightmare
I never expected a damaged suitcase claim to become such a long and exhausting experience with a global airline.
After my Turkish Airlines flight to Johannesburg, my premium RIMOWA suitcase was returned damaged. The damage was reported immediately at OR Tambo Airport, a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) was completed, and all required documentation and photos were submitted.
What should have been a straightforward baggage claim process has turned into an ongoing customer service nightmare.
After more than 150 responses, escalations, and promises, I am still waiting for a proper resolution. The repeated message is always that the case has been escalated and that the relevant department will respond. But escalation without ownership does not solve a customer’s problem.
The latest compensation offer did not reflect the evidence provided. This was before the final assessment from RIMOWA, which confirmed that the suitcase was damaged beyond repair, that the damage was caused by third-party handling, and that repair service is not available in Africa.
Passengers should know their rights.
International baggage claims are governed by the Montreal Convention 1999. Under Article 17(2), an airline may be liable for damage to checked baggage when the event causing the damage occurred while the baggage was under the carrier’s custody. Under Article 22(2), liability for checked baggage is subject to the applicable international limit unless a special declaration of value was made.
This is not about asking for something unreasonable. It is about a fair, transparent assessment based on the evidence and the applicable international rules.
The most disappointing part has been the process itself.
I have spoken with seven different Turkish Airlines call centre agents (all documented). Thankfully, Turkish Airlines does have a local South African contact number, but each interaction resulted in another transfer, another explanation, or another promise. The experience feels like being kept in a loop instead of receiving a solution.
The case handling appears focused on internal processes and moving the matter between departments rather than providing clear ownership and a management-level response.
The contrast is striking. Public responses on social media are very fast, but many appear to be standard template replies. Behind those messages, the actual customer experience has been completely different.
With my own aviation background and experience working within a large European organisation, I understand that procedures exist and complex cases can take time. But even with that experience, the lack of ownership, communication, and accountability in this case has been extremely disappointing.
An airline is not truly judged when everything goes perfectly. It is judged when a passenger needs help after something goes wrong.
I am still waiting for a genuine review of the facts, a fair resolution, and a response that goes beyond another automated promise.
Passengers: please be aware. The real customer service test starts when something goes wrong.
SCAM
SCAM. Ticket included a checked bag and they still charged me at check in 240 euros. DO NOT FLY TURKISH
OMG never have I ever experienced what…
OMG never have I ever experienced what this airline is putting it’s passengers through! We are with small kids and second night in a row they keep us waiting first canceled our flight after we boarded and the second time delayed in the middle of the night! Will absolutely never ever fly again with this airline!
I bought a ticket to my mom from…
I bought a ticket to my mom from Istanbul to Venice through Turkish airlines website !
And it was mentioned 30kg on her ticket and also on the email received from them!
In the airport they refused the claimed weight and refused to proceed untill i paid the extra 7kg !!! And their claim was it wasnt their fault ( Although i bought it online from Turkish airlines!)
So be aware guys they claim they are luxury airlines but their acts like budget airlines so better to search for alternate airlines!!
How the hell are they in the top 10
How the hell are they in the top 10 - absolutely horrendous yet again!
I have had the same horrendous experience two years in a row. Delays leaving, missed connections, no disability wheelchair support, special meal not processed, staff yelling and screaming at customers on the plane, rude, obnoxious, no water, waited 60 minutes for trays to be cleared, no snacks, filthy toilets, there is no way these guys are in the top 10 - never fly with them from Sydney to Istanbul it is the worst flight ever. I have had over 40 international trips in my life and I am a seasoned traveller and I will never ever fly with them again. Their customer service is in their filthy toilets and I am gobsmacked at their staff yelling at people, I am appalled by their behaviour, especially interrupting people praying by touching them or trying to move them. Traumatised traveller here!
Refuses basic compensation any EU…
Refuses basic compensation any EU airline would provide by default.
Our long-haul return flight was significantly delayed by many hours. We were left waiting at the airport with no meaningful assistance, no rebooking options, no meal vouchers, no compensation offer — nothing that any EU airline would automatically provide under EU 261/2004. I lost a full working day because of the long layover.
We had also paid extra for specific premium seats. Due to an aircraft change, we were placed in completely different, smaller seats directly next to the lavatory for a 10+ hour overnight flight. Turkish Airlines' own contract states the seat fee should be refunded automatically upon aircraft change. Not honoured.
Onboard, when I calmly raised the seat issue, the senior cabin crew member shouted at me in front of other passengers and falsely claimed Turkish Airlines does not offer paid seat products — a statement provably false. Shortly after, a visibly ill, constantly coughing passenger was deliberately placed next to my wife despite our clear objections. The crew acknowledged the problem, said they would resolve it, and then did nothing — instead they served the sick passenger a meal in the same seat.
There was also a separate charge on my card for which Turkish Airlines confirmed in writing that no service was delivered — yet the money was never returned. They simply told me to contact my bank.
Total unresolved loss: over 3 000 EUR — including the non-delivered paid seats, the unexplained charge, the delay damages, the lost working day, and the moral impact of the crew's conduct.
Zero compensation offered for any of it. No delay compensation. No refund for the failed seat product. No accountability for the crew behaviour or the health risk on board. No return of the unexplained charge.
Any EU airline would have handled this automatically. Turkish Airlines refuses even the basics and pushes every problem back to the customer.
Avoid. Book with a carrier that respects paying passengers and honours its own written terms.
Not happy with Business Class experience.
Husband and I flew business class from Kuala Lumpur to Sicily and return. Flew from KL to Istanbul with a changeover to fly to Catania. We received an email stating the flight to Catania was bought forward. We wouldn't have even arrived in Istanbul to make the flight. Had to stay over. No offer of a free nights accommodation which is standard on Business Class flights with other airlines.
On our first leg from KL to Istanbul my husbands' flat bed didn't work at all. He informed the crew. They attempted to reboot the electronics but no help. He had to sleep sitting up on this leg. Not even a recline. No offer of any compensation, flight was full. We made sure the cabin manager reported this. They knew the bed wasn't working on the previous flight, and the plane was at KL for 3 days prior to our flight.
On our way back from Istanbul to KL, same thing happened. My husband's flat bed didn't work. Same with another passenger. Only one spare seat. She grabbed it first. Reported it to cabin crew. I ended up swapping seats so he could at least experience the flat bed for one time. We saved up for years to be able to afford these flights. They weren't cheap. Cost us $10,000 AUD for 2 business class seats. We get back to Australia and I reported it to Turkish Airlines. They offer me 25% of my next flight, expiring at end of 2026. We can't travel now, as I am fighting Cancer. I'm not happy. They then offer me travel miles, which equates to $250 AUD. I'm not happy. Reply that to them. They then tell me virtually too bad and reverse their offers to nothing. I have exhausted my efforts with them. Their Customer Service is non existent. Next option, review on Trust Pilot.
Edit: after my review was published I received 3 different emails from Turkish Airlines (or so I thought) they apologised for my experience and wanted me to reply with some contact details. They then offered to call me and discuss my issue. This happened last night on what’s app. It all seemed so easy until he asked me to upload a money transfer app on my phone so they could transfer $4000 Aud to me. I then started to get suspicious when he asked me to click on Kenya on the app. I then started asking him some questions as to where he was situated and what time it was there. I asked for his id number and a telephone number to call him back on. I didn’t complete the download of the app. It needed my passport number too. I told him I was hanging up and I was going to do some research into this. If it was legit I wasn’t worried about calling them back, but if it wasn’t I needed to be careful. After I hung up I checked google and it seems this is a ploy by scammers. So please be careful. I dodged a bullet.
Turkish airlines can do the right thing to make a refund. They are not taking this issue seriously. I am fed up. I just want my refund as promised. I have photos and proof of phone calls that was made as we stood at the airport in shock.
Denied boarding on the 11May at Muritalla Mohamed Airport. Myself and Children. I have done everything to resolve this issue with Turkish Airlines. The Staff at the airport are very corrupt. We had to buy a new ticket. Paid the same price of one leg return, wish was the equivalent of €5,0000.
I am making another complaint, I have sent my flight reference number and my contact number to the email they sent me on the 30th of June. All the information requested is been sent.
But they still refused to acknowledge receipt of my details. Asking for the same over & over again. My question now to customer relations Turkish Airlines. Do you want me to upload the details here.
I am seek of this. I just want my refund as promised so I can move on with my life.

The worst airlines I’ve ever seen in my life. I don’t even know where to start, it’s just awful, worst experience in my life, avoid it at any cost.
I wanted to share our recent experience…
I wanted to share our recent experience with Turkish Airlines in the hope that it encourages better customer service for future travelers.
We mistakenly missed our outbound flight because we confused our travel date. We fully accept responsibility for that mistake and understood that there would be costs associated with changing our itinerary. However, what happened next was extremely disappointing.
When we contacted Turkish Airlines the very next day, all we needed was a new outbound flight to Turkey. Instead, our remaining return flights were canceled, and we were required to purchase new tickets for our family at an additional cost of nearly $7,000.
We recognize that airline policies exist, but we believe there should also be room for reasonable solutions and customer care, especially when travelers are upfront, take responsibility for their mistake, and reach out immediately to resolve the issue.
Our hope is that Turkish Airlines reviews situations like ours and considers more customer-friendly options in the future. We are still hopeful they will take another look at our case and work toward a fair resolution.
I am writing to share how deeply hurt…
I am writing to share how deeply hurt and disappointed I am by the way Turkish Airline customer service handled my request. I reached out after a death in my family, hoping for compassion and humanly support. Instead, I spent a week sending messages through your feedback form while responses were delayed and my situation was disregarded. My family is grieving, and my 75‑year‑old mother was hospitalized due to the emotional shock. Despite this, my request was ignored, and four separate supervisor call‑back requests went unanswered. This experience has been painful and disheartening. I hope senior leadership reviews this feedback and reflects on how unacceptable and unempathetic this treatment has been. No passenger should be made to feel this way during a time of loss.
$2,835 Charged for Upgrade Never Delivered — Avoid
Charged $2,835 for Business Class. Flew Economy. DOT complaint now open.
In April 2026, Turkish Airlines billed us $2,835.04 for a Business Class upgrade (flight TK0081) that was never delivered. We flew Economy — confirmed by their own boarding records. Their Istanbul airport agent told us the charge hadn't processed. They pushed it through anyway.
After months of runaround and closed cases, I filed with the BBB and U.S. Department of Transportation. Small claims court is next.
Loyal customer of 3+ years. Never again.
Terrible experience with Turkish…
Terrible experience with Turkish Airlines!
They delayed our luggage by 24 hours. Travelling with a family of 6, we were forced to buy immediate essentials, which cost us $400 for the whole family. Even though I submitted all receipts, they have been delaying and refusing to issue a refund for over 3 months now. This is unacceptable. Shocking customer service! #TurkishAirlines #BadCustomerService
7-Hour Delay
7-Hour Delay, Three Young Children Left Sleeping on the Airport Floor & Lost Luggage
I am extremely disappointed with Turkish Airlines and the way my family was treated.
Our flight from Singapore was delayed by 7 hours. I was travelling with three children under the age of 5, yet Turkish Airlines provided no accommodation, no meaningful assistance, and no compensation.
I asked the customer service staff if they could book us into a hotel and move us onto the morning flight so my children could rest. I was told that every hotel in Singapore was fully booked. However, I searched online and found available hotels myself and even showed this to the staff, but they still refused to help.
As a result, my three young children had to sleep on the floor of Singapore Airport for seven hours while airline staff walked past us without offering any assistance. No family should ever be treated this way.
Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there.
When we finally arrived in the Republic of Moldova, all 8 of our checked suitcases were missing. We completed the required baggage claim forms, but our luggage was not returned until five days later. When it finally arrived, several suitcases were damaged, covered in mud, and in unacceptable condition. I have photographs to prove this.
To make matters even worse, we arrived in Moldova during winter, with temperatures around -10°C, but because all of our luggage had been lost, my children had no winter clothing. We had to leave the airport dressed only in summer clothes in freezing conditions.
Since returning home, I have made multiple phone calls, sent multiple emails, and provided all requested documentation and evidence. Despite this, Turkish Airlines has failed to provide any meaningful response or resolution.
This experience caused unnecessary stress, discomfort, and expense for my family. I expected far better from an international airline with Turkish Airlines’ reputation.
I will not be letting this matter end with a review. I intend to pursue this further through the appropriate consumer protection and aviation authorities.
If anyone else has experienced similar treatment from Turkish Airlines, I encourage you to speak up. Airlines should be held accountable when they fail to meet their obligations to passengers, especially families travelling with young children
AVOID this Airline !
Absolutely not recommended..
Absolutely not recommended... We had to rebook a long-haul flight due to a traffic accident and thought it would be inexpensive. The airline had the audacity to charge more for rebooking an already paid flight than if we had booked a new flight separately. Outrageous and a rip-off! Never again Turkish Airlines... that's for sure...
