I switched to Tower a year ago after my previous insurer hiked my premium to a ridiculous level, and I’m so glad I made the change. While I haven’t had to make any claims yet, so can’t comment on that... See more

I have a full comprehensive insurance and my vehicle had been on a accident and i was the third party tower only fixed the rear tail gate of my vehicle and not the roller lids. I have contacted the insurance company of the other party that hit my vehicle to claim for it, they tried contacting tower and tower doesn’t respond or do anything. Tbh i wont get insurance with tower anymore. Customers service is really bad the people on claims team are useless and prefer to blame their customers instead of helping them. What a waste of time and money.
I happy with your customer service very quick thanks
The website makes everything done without a phone call, brilliant!
We have had policies from Tower for decades and have had no issues to complain of.
Apart from trying to get hold of a person by phone - very difficult and a long wait I had to ring 3 times for a call back - once talking to the person it was an easy process - did find the acent hard to understand at times but we got there in the end and they did call back when they said they would to check if any concerns -
The policies were easy to buy online. I have never spoken to a real person. My older brother told me to change to tower and the rates were lower for the same policies at a insurance company I had been dealing for over 30 years. The policies could be abit easier to understand.
Good service but price was a lot higher compared to others.
So hard to get the direct debit working! Called for help but did not fix the problem. Frustrating
The process via My Tower was remarkably easy and in general over the last 30 years I have found Tower responsive to our needs
Beware of ever changing terms and conditions in the small print. Tower are not an honourable company!
As a Tower customer for 20+ yrs, covering various houses, it's contents, pvt & commercial vehicles & business equipment, I was largely happy. Although I am now retired, I take on occasional work to supplement my pension. Over this 20+yr period, they covered my partner & I for a few car related claims, quake related contents damage and, most importantly for me as a freelance photographer, a few camera claims, the last being in 2014, with no further equipment claims for 10+yrs. Each time I bought a new cameras I would specify ity, until at one point they told me it wasn't necessary as I am covered for individual items up to $5000. So I did not specify anything after that, as per their advice.
Then in Dec. 2025, I accidentally reversed over my camera bag in the garage damaging 2 cameras and 2 lenses. Tower were exceptionally slow to respond so I had the gear repaired by the Nikon agent. Cost: $5000.
Then they started telling me I was not covered for commercial use. Despite them knowing what I do for 20 years and covering previous work related claims and insuring my car for commercial use. They agreed to review it. After 4 months of regular follow ups and very little response, they now tell me in April that I am suddenly no longer covered for cameras in the course of my work. Of course they will point to some tiny small print addendum included in the flurry of annual policy renewal requests. My argument is that something as fundamentally important and critical as work related equipment cover should have been accompanied by, as worst, an option to to get commercial insurance cover to supplement their reduction in service.
So if you deal with them.... beware. Their approach to me has been one of dishonesty by not being upfront about a critical change as well as not suggesting an alternative cover or policy.
I DO NOT RECCOMEND TOWER INSURANCE.
SHOP AROUND.
Proactive in helping us renew our policy with helpful advise and great service
Impossible to reach customer service team for cancellation. However if I asked for a quote or make payment it gets through very soon.

Will not look outside the box to insure a car that's not factory standard.
Have an Audi A4. Tower said they can't insure it for what I paid for it. Then turned around and said it was modified when I explained it had a bigger HP engine and turbo.
The car is factory with the BEX motor, larger brakes and Turbo. BUT Tower said their assessors said it wad modified by me. Even though it's a NZ new car and the VIN numbering they looked it up, states it's the bigger HP model.

Tower taking AGES to resolve a faulty workmanship problem from a prior claim. They’re so hell bent on finding who is liable first, rather than solving the issue and then sorting liability after.
Easy as and great cause I can also invest into tower with stocks
Fix your call waiting times, hours? sometimes its takes 10 days to get anyone on the phone
