I have a new Adria caravan fitted with…

I have a new Adria caravan fitted with a Thetford oven. What can I say? No oven light? Constant problem with thermocouple sooting up despite correct gas and pressure. A very sub standard expensive and basic oven that lacks any imaginative design features. 1/10 for design.

Absolutely outrageous and beyond…

Absolutely outrageous and beyond disappointing!
I shattered the glass of my Thetford Topline 902 induction hob, and to my shock, there is no replacement glass available. For any premium induction hob from brands like Bosch or Siemens, you can easily order a spare glass. But here? Nothing! Instead, I’m forced to buy an entirely new unit (1000€+) This is utterly unacceptable and downright unbelievable!

Class Action Lawsuit??

It’s not so much the literal “ripping off” that this outfit conducts at every turn, more so the fact that they do so by way of holding a monopoly on many of their products. In my case a recent purchase of a refer (Third unit within the past ten years as a full time RV’er) that no other company makes to fit in my RV. A new refer shipped which was lacking a small, under $20 part that keeps both doors secured.

My ongoing attempts to interact with Thetford has been via the ONLY option available to their “valued customers”. That being an online portal featuring NOT a human, strictly a POOR AI portal, waste of time.

Rather than me venting here, a question…

Given that Thetford has become broadly known in the industry as a corp. conducting their operations in an almost criminal manner, highlighted by their warrant obligations being ignored, which has caused every RV shop, every mobile service tech in my community to refuse to even consider taking on any Thetford warranty work, might anyone perhaps been made aware of any Class Action lawsuits pending, or in the process of being put together?

With my experience as a basis, I must believe that there are factually thousands who have or are suffering from a company that is obviously going out of its way to avoid its contractual obligations.

I’d welcome anyone with the ability to respond “Yes, a suit is…”, thanking you in advance for taking the time to do so.

Lasts as long as the warranty.

After a few years of light use our very expensive Thetford fridge is well and truly knackered. I will not be replacing it with another and will replace it with a cheaper Chinese brand just like we had to with our trauma diesel heater.
Avoid these products like the plague.

C200 Cassettes last 14 years - at least.

I own a narrowboat, one of the 35,000 on the system. Mine has a Thetford C200 toilet with three cassettes. One of the cassettes came with the boat in 2010, I bought the other two to make sure we were never "caught out".
Late last year two started leaking while being carried to an Elsan point. So full marks to Thetford, whose cassettes last 14 years before needing maintenance.
Better yet, even after 15 years, I could get a full supply of the 5 set of seals needed to refurbish each of three cassettes. Full marks.

PS. I noticed recently that Spinflo, who made 12volt fridges and propane ovens, are now trading under the Thetford brand. I have both. I had to replace the fridge two years ago as it had stopped cooling, and the burners in the oven randomly stop. If Spinflo is a recent acquisition of Thetford, it's going to take them a while to bring the quality up to Thetford's 14 years.

Greedy

Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK, same response, Thetford don't make me laugh, the worst company to deal with on every continent. Guarantee, warranty, not a chance. They wriggle out of all their responsibilities wherever you go. Having tried to get satisfaction on any of their supposed warranties world wide same old story.Not our problem .for them but no satisfaction for me. I have been banned from many websites for criticizing their terrible customer service but these criminals need exposing. And on a positive note the Chinese are about to launch an alternative to the rubbish product's we have suffered from these smug,we rule the world dimwhits, so their days of crap take it or leave days maybe over. Good riddance to them.

Rotting products, rotten service.

Had a sink/hob unit from Thetford which got rotten within a year. They rejected my warranty claim under the excuse that on the photo "hob has water marks left on the surface". Needless to say this unit is supposed to work in contact with water.
Ridiculous company, ridiculous after-sale service.

Hopeless after sales

Hopeless after sales. Tried to verify that I was ordering the correce replacement part, but they are uncontactable and their website supposedly directing you to a dealer doesn't work.

Avoid these guys at all cost

Avoid these guys at all cost, I purchased a defective control board from them, submitted all info requested for the return 8 days ago and never heard back.
Called but they said this can't be handled over the phone.
If you buy from Thetford and your product is defective, be prepared to eat the cost because they do not care about you.

This is the Second Thetford fridge in…

This is the Second Thetford fridge in less than 4 years . The Second one was a Replacement after the first one I got 4 months of use out of it . If I wanted it Repaired I had to Drive from Victor Harbour S.A Drive to Tanunda to their Refrigerator So Called Expert all he did was Burnt the wiring out on the Fridge . So then I had Drive to Ballarat so they could look at it. So finally they told me it needs to be Replaced. So Eventually Thetford Replaced it . I was told there is no Warranty on the Replacement Refrigerator. So I got 3 months use out of the Refrigerator. Also while it was working it went through a 9.5 kg Gas Bottle a week . So now it has Totally Died in the Arse No Power . LED panel Nothing so you can't Change from 240 to Gas . I will never Buy from anything from Thetford Company .. I guess as the Saying goes . We got your Money Now Go.Away . Shame on you Thetford So un Australian. Oh I Forgot Thetford is a American Company . Even worst

Customer service useless …

Bought a Thetford caravan oven which was well over priced but wanted the same as the old one so it would fit. Paid to have it installed and the next day the glass door exploded the supplier was very good and replaced it but the one that came was faulty with the 2 glass doors rubbing ( I expect that's what caused the first to explode when hot) finally got oven number 3 and touch wood it has been ok but ended up paying a plumber 3 times instead of one and the customer service at Thetford say it's not their problem and won't compensate. If they didn't supply faulty goods then there wouldn't be a problem. Absolutely disgusting service and would not recommend

Atrocious

I bought a Thetford oven from a marina in 2020 and the oven seal has already started breaking off. After a couple of weeks of the marina trying to communicate with someone at Thetford and supplying all sorts of detail for warranty purposes, they've now turned round and said they won't replace it as it's a 'consumable' and are trying to charge me £34.50 for another useless bit of plastic they describe as a seal.
The oven is a poor design anyway and from the start the grill doesn't light up fully when you turn it on.
I only bought this one because this was all the marina had and I was desperate.
They come across as a company that doesn't give a damn about customers and who are prepared to exploit their perceived monopoly in marine goods to fleece people and turn out shoddy items.

Bought a thetford porta potti 335 to…

Bought a thetford porta potti 335 to use in our VW California on 30 August 2020.
This apparently has a 3 year warranty…I noticed that there was no float marker appearing when we filled the tank with cold water.
Since then I have been trying to get this sorted under warranty and have tried several local dealers that don’t want to know and multiple mails to infogb//thetford.eu with no result. The porta potti is fine and fits the VW California cupboard perfectly but with no indication of usage it is a bit of a hit and miss affair.
