Absolutely outrageous and beyond…

Absolutely outrageous and beyond disappointing!
I shattered the glass of my Thetford Topline 902 induction hob, and to my shock, there is no replacement glass available. For any premium induction hob from brands like Bosch or Siemens, you can easily order a spare glass. But here? Nothing! Instead, I’m forced to buy an entirely new unit (1000€+) This is utterly unacceptable and downright unbelievable!

Thetford Porta Pottis leaks

I bought a Thetford
Porta Pottis toilet for my Boat a few years ago and the start of every season I buy a new lip seal for it but sadly they only last a couple of empties before they start leaking again, which makes it very hard to carry the toilet to empty it without making a mess everywhere I assumed after the first one I might have bought a one off bad product but after numerous purchases I’ve realised the rubber it is made out of is not of good quality and therefore fails very quickly. It cannot be down to the chemicals as I use their recommended chemicals, it is impossible to get in touch with the company for advice so I can only warn people against buying this product.

Poor design Thetford 400 toilets

My Thetford 400 toilet (appr. 3 years old) is not flushing anymore, indicating a problem with the pump system. Accessing the pump and removing it from the flushing reservoir to replace the pump is however extremely difficult. This is due to the small opening to access the pump. It is too tight for medium to bigger size hands. This implies a drive to the caravan dealer each time the pump is not functioning to fix the problem. From a cost, time and CO2 emission perspective I would expect a better effort from Thetford.

Bad service when in need

After calling in at seven dealers on our route in lower France we were not able to obtain a rubber seal which sits between the toilet and the cassette. Needless to say it leaked! Being a very popular part I was surprised know no one stocked it. So I contacted Thetford Europe giving them my destinations assuming they could advise who may have stock on our route, I was sent a list of dealers covering the whole of France and nothing more, so presumably they would like me to drive around all of their dealers until we find one. However as I explained in one of my emails to the company we were entering Spain anyway. They responded once with the French list and I did not hear from them again. Obviously the company is too large and profitable to waste time on their customers.
