We started The Idle Man because we wanted to show you that being stylish shouldn’t be difficult. We’re a team of dedicated designers, writers, buyers and generally people who are passionate about working meticulously to the find the best in men’s clothing and men’s fashion. As a menswear online retailer, we seek to find the latest and greatest; ranging from menswear brands, such as Barbour, Levi's, The North Face, Converse, Timberland, as well as men’s jackets and men’s shoes. We’ve even come up with our own men’s clothing range here at The Idle Man designed to suit all styles and please all budgets. Not because we have to, but because we want to. We want to provide you with a hub of knowledge, as well as a place to find menswear online - a place where you can find out those small details that you’ve always wondered, but never asked.

The Idle Man is one of my favorite…

The Idle Man is one of my favorite online retailers. They carry a large variety of clothes from some of the top name brands. They also have really good deals on their sale items.

Rubbish quality (their own brand) and covered in stains

Rubbish quality (their own brand). Jacket arrived covered in stains.
Returns label not included with item so you have to print it off (virtually impossible if you don't have a printer during lockdown). Staff were not at all understanding, nor did they try to come up with a solution for how I could return the item without a printer. You also have to return at the post office, which is currently extremely difficult.
When I complained to the company about the faulty item and explained my situation they didn't seem to care less..

Sent Wrong Item

I ordered a jacket and was sent the wrong color. I was told I needed to pay the return shipping despite the fact that the mistake was made by the company. Feels pretty uncool.

These boots are made for walking!

I bought a pair of Dr Martens for my son for his birthday. Unfortunately the wrong size was delivered; they replaced with the right size in time for his birthday, gave me the 10% discount and refunded my initial payment. Would definitely use again.

Got sent the wrong item

I ordered an item and got sent the wrong item. The original item I wanted then sold out in my size. I already paid £3.95 for delivery but I’m expected to pay another £4 or maybe more to return the wrong item because I don’t have access to a printer due to the current pandemic situation.

We are sorry to hear your item was not what you expected it to be when it arrived.
Our Dispatch Team are trained to check all of our products before they leave the warehouse however it is evident that this was not the case for your order
We completely understand that returning parcels is not a priority during this time of crisis.
We've discussed the possibility of an extension to our returns timeline last week and are awaiting confirmation of any possible changes in the next few weeks.
If you still wish to return the item yourself rather than using the free returns labels due to the lack of access to a printer the delivery costs originally paid on the order will be automatically refunded due to you receiving the wrong item on this occasion.
Our apologies once again.

For returning my item

For returning my item, it was unclear whether this could be exchanged or I could only be refunded. I was also unable to have an extension on the return period due to the Coronavirus pandemic as I at the time had the virus and didn’t know whether I was going to be able to get to the Post Office safely. In the end I was, and returned the item

We can only apologise that our returns policy has affected your return on this occasion.
Your frustration is certainly understandable, especially given that there are no clear rules on what counts as an essential trip or not as outlined by the UK government.
However our management team are looking at seeing if anything can be changed if this remains the case beyond the 13th April when lock down is due to either end or continue.
