I deeply regret hiring this contractor
I deeply regret hiring this contractor. I needed help of a private inspector to check my house. Otherwise I wouldn't have known that I had gas leaks, broken trusses, cracked tiles, and almost no insulation. I've also heard that they had retaliated on private inspectors for showing building defects. I highly discourage anybody from even thinking about hiring what I would call criminals. I also hope they get their building license revoked as soon as possible.
10 Months Later—Still Not a Finished Home
I only wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. It's been nearly a year and I'm still fighting them to fix things that were raised even prior to closing. I lost complete use of parts of my house for nearly a month. The employees are overworked and pushed to cut corners everywhere they can. So don't think you're getting a quality home. They talk a good game, but are no better than any other production builder at half the cost. My advice - pick another builder. If you already picked this one - don't sign anything and get multiple inspections. I'm still worried what I might find in a few months after the warranty is over.
Foundation failure less than a year…
Foundation failure less than a year into ownership. Non-stop push back. Hired the same engineering firm they use to build in certain communities. Confirmation of failure, Taylor Morrison still pushing back. Would never recommend their product to anyone. Service department acts like they are being troubled to even respond to requests. Overall extremely dissapointing.
I’ve had extremely disappointing…
I’ve had extremely disappointing experiences with this company—not once, but twice. Their products are poorly made, and both purchases ended up being a nightmare. Items broke within the warranty period, yet getting them to honor that warranty was a constant battle. Customer service was unhelpful and confrontational, and it’s clear they lack basic business ethics and customer care. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Taylor Morrison’s Earnest Money Retention Scam (North Sky Celina) - 100 N Sky Dr, Celina, TX 75009.
I signed a contract in June, but THEIR lender demanded:
Higher insurance deductible , or extra cash to buy down rates to approve my final loan. When I refused (financing contingency), they kept my $5K deposit—even though the home is now back in market priced higher than it was and will sell to someone else who will pay the deposit again to them.
Their ‘final’ denial emails including Tom Cawthon's email admit no losses to them. TREC/DTPA complaints are pending. Please be aware especially first time home buyers and buy from any other builders but them. They are very predatory.
Garbage builders
Garbage builders, wrecked so many things it took six months to have fixed
I wish I went with a different builder.
I don’t even know where to begin. The experience with this home has been nothing short of frustrating and disheartening. I’ve had to submit multiple warranty tickets for a slew of problems—some addressed, others not—but the sheer number of issues is unacceptable for a brand-new home. We're talking about mismatched sliding glass door tints, a dishwasher that wasn’t even secured properly, doors that won’t close right, a leaking food disposer, drawers that are completely loose, a hole in the cabinets, and even a poorly installed shower door that hits the wall. The list goes on—and it's exhausting.
But the most infuriating and disappointing issue of all is the placement of the dryer vent in the laundry room. The room itself is already noticeably narrow compared to others in the same model. Instead of placing the vent low to the ground or including a recessed outlet like they did in my neighbor’s home—the exact same model—my vent was installed 3 feet off the floor with no recess at all. As a result, the 4-inch vent pipe runs straight up behind the dryer, forcing the entire unit to stick out an extra 4 inches into an already cramped space.
When I brought this up with the builder, they sent multiple people out to "assess" the issue, dragging me through a maze of finger-pointing and empty reassurances. In the end, they dismissed my concerns entirely, claiming it was just "part of the build"—and that if I wanted it fixed, it was on me, the homeowner.
This experience has been beyond disappointing. It feels like the builder cut corners, ignored quality, and then refused to take accountability when confronted. Please, do yourself a favor: do not go with this builder. You will regret it. There are far better local builders who care about their work and offer custom options without running you in circles. Avoid this company at all costs.
Terrible experience buying TM house
Terrible experience buying a house from TM. Poor quality build. Warranty is a joke, they just give a runaround.

Aren’t Taylor Morrison the cockroaches that took that bloke to court, for doing his job as a ‘house inspector’ highlighting the poor quality of TM’s work.
If it weren’t for his channel, only people who bought their houses, would know how bad they were.
It appears that TM tried to silence him, to enable them to continue to build rubbish houses.
What a bunch of greedy crims.
Not a "Trusted Home Builder"
Disappointed with Our Homebuilding Experience
Our experience with this home builder has been extremely disappointing, particularly for a company that markets itself as a "trusted" name in residential construction. From the initial build to post-move-in warranty support, we have encountered persistent issues that remain unresolved.
We experienced poor communication and inconsistent follow-through from multiple departments, including sales, construction, and customer care/warranty. In many cases, commitments were not honored, and requests for service or clarification went unanswered.
During construction and afterward, we identified multiple issues--some of which involved local code violations. While we escalated concerns, including to the Castle Rock Building Department, the builder declined to take corrective action in several cases.
Water intrusion was a major concern, resulting in mold growth that affected our health and required third-party intervention to resolve. Other construction-related oversights included improperly placed plumbing and questionable repair techniques that did not meet reasonable expectations for a new home.
We also faced safety concerns, such as patched roofing that lacked structural integrity and damage caused during warranty service appointments. In several cases, we had to hire independent inspectors to confirm the need for repairs.
The neighborhood we live in, Crystal Valley Hillside, has also seen pricing volatility, with recent listings significantly undercutting original purchase prices--something current homeowners should be aware of.
Buying a home is one of the most important investments you'll make. We recommend thoroughly researching this builder and speaking with current homeowners before moving forward.
Avoid Taylor Morrison – Serious Warranty Neglect at Ridge at Northlake, Texas
We purchased a home from Taylor Morrison in Ridge at Northlake, Texas, and the experience has been nothing short of exhausting and distressing.
From the beginning, we found major issues across the house. A third-party inspection confirmed numerous problems, including a leaking floor and a fully blocked primary shower drain that remained unusable for over a month after closing. We’ve dealt with second-floor leaks, squeaky floors, and numerous unresolved cosmetic issues — many of which were present before closing.
One of the most serious problems was with the AC drain line, which was clogged and resulted in consistently high indoor humidity levels of 75%. This poses a serious risk for mold growth, especially in a newly built home. Taylor Morrison failed to take any action. We had to reach out to the HVAC installer directly, who confirmed and fixed the clogged line — without any involvement or help from the builder. Instead of solving problems, Taylor Morrison continued to deflect responsibility and escalate matters legally.
They closed multiple warranty tickets without doing the actual work. When we pushed back, they hired a lawyer and issued a cease-and-desist letter against us — threatening us with legal action and even trespassing charges. All this while they continue building homes down the street.
Imagine paying a builder, then being threatened for simply asking them to honor their warranty. We are now forced to communicate through a lawyer for every issue. Taylor Morrison, especially under its current leadership, seems more interested in legal intimidation than fixing actual construction problems.
This is not an isolated case — Taylor Morrison has faced lawsuits in other regions related to mold and construction defects, showing a pattern of negligence when it comes to moisture and drainage issues.
This was our second home. Our first, with David Weekley Homes, was a smooth and respectful experience. Based on what we’ve experienced at Ridge at Northlake, Texas, I strongly recommend avoiding Taylor Morrison. Protect your investment — and your peace of mind.
Poor quality and no ownership
Poor quality and no ownership.
Forced to remain in this home that was poorly built due to the terrible economy we’re faced with. I had a door come off completely, roof not fully patched, and poor paint job throughout the home.
I wish we had researched the builders…
I wish we had researched the builders in the area. We absolutely love the area but are not impressed at all with Taylor Morrison. The home warranty is all but non-existent. I have had to pay out of pocket for a new garage door opener (they put a 1/2hp motor on a heavy all wooden door). Questions about the HVAC- submitted warranty ticket 7 weeks ago- crickets. Sprinkler system brand new house leaking and they don’t warranty the installation. Had to replace the dishwasher because it was so loud and the cheapest model they could find. I would strongly advise anyone considering them to do their homework and consider a builder with even marginally better reviews- completely my fault for not looking them up.
