Purchased an HO Syndicate slalom ski at the start of last season from Tallington.
The ski had a manufacturing fault and snapped clean in half during a ski set last weekend. The ski injured my knee and damaged my binding plate which now needs replacing as well.
I returned to the Pro shop the day after the incident to organize a replacement ski. I bought a new ski on the spot, spending another £1,000 so that I could continue skiing through our short summers, and was told to expect an email regarding compensation/refund. Total spend over £1,900 on the two skis (not including the other purchases at the time and throughout the years).
Today, they replied, stating that because my purchase is slightly out of warranty, there is nothing they can do, and they are unwilling to help. They quoted a warranty duration that is not advertised on their website Returns/Fault product policy.
Despite having been a customer for many years, they are unwilling to entertain any form of compensation for the faulty ski.
I then requested contact information for someone to escalate my claim and and also the supplier of the ski. They refused to provide any contact details.
If you're looking to purchase any expensive gear, such as skis, bindings, or other equipment, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
£45 per night to park a caravan. Then you have to jump through hoops to put your kayak on the water, and pay £10 per craft, per day to float on a small patch of boring water in one corner of the lake.
Caravan site facilties are so dated and dirty, the roads have high speed bumps, some of which hit the towbar on my car. Would not come here again because I feel the place is here to extract a maximum profit by investing the minimum effort and money in the infrastructure.
Great service, and a great pair of boots at an affordable price
Brilliant customer service.
My order was lost in the post with an empty envelope being delivered. I contacted them and they promptly and politely replied sending a replacement quickly. I needed it for a trip I was about to leave on and it arrived in time.
I can’t thank them enough. Not only do they have a great stock of products at competitive prices, they also have exceptional customer service. Always my first choice to check when I need new kit.
Took my money and couldn’t care less when my item didn’t arrive.
Rude customer service that puts shame on small companies alike.
Just wanted to shout out to Josh who helped us yesterday with our ski boot fitting at Tallington Lakes Pro Shop.
Nothing was too much trouble and so good to talk to someone who actually knows what they are talking about!
Brilliant service, excellent range on offer - now we just need some snow!
My son and I have just had a paddle board lesson at tallington lakes with Mike, I can definitely recommend as he taught us so much
Tallington lakes is a very nice place to visit and the paddle boarding is very good fun
Very rare these days to get such good customer service. I must thank and congratulate Connor in the ski shop for his enthusiasm, knowledge, cheerfulness, help, persistence and patience whilst trying to fit me out with a ski helmet. Even though I didn’t buy it after nearly an hour of trying - as I had forgotten my goggles and none were the correct colour or fit - he was unperturbed and when we were finished excitedly moved on to the assistance of his next customer. Well done Connor. Keep it up. I hope you are well rewarded for your efforts.
