Can’t do a minus. My parents been without internet and home phone for 3 weeks. They have taken money out of her account. After 2 weeks of calling and me trying to call they have made my mum ill, she never wants to speak to them again and for the privilege of never speaking to the company again they want to charge her £75. I have just been on the phone to them for 1 hour, most of that was on hold. NEVER EVER use this company

I’ve been a TalkTalk customer since August 2020, but my recent experience has been absolutely appalling.
On 23 July, I spent over an hour on the phone explaining that I was moving and was assured TalkTalk could provide broadband at my new address. A home move was arranged, I entered into a new contract and received confirmation that my service would go live on 7 August.
When we moved, no router arrived and our internet didn’t work. I then spent over two hours on the phone on 7 August, only to be told that the home move had apparently never been set up.
On 8 August, I spoke to four different people before finally being told TalkTalk couldn’t provide service at my new address and that the contract needed to be cancelled. I was assured this had been done — only to subsequently be told that it hadn’t been cancelled and I had to go through the process again.
Then, incredibly, I received a call asking whether my internet was now working and whether I was happy with the service.
The whole experience has been completely contradictory and extremely frustrating. All of these calls should be recorded, so TalkTalk has a clear record of exactly what I was told.
After nearly six years as a customer, I’m extremely disappointed. If you’re considering TalkTalk, particularly if you’re moving house, think twice.

I’m very happy with talktalk I rarely have any issues but when they arise the team are quick to respond and resolve the issue

My mother-in-law lost her husband and their talk talk service was in his name. It has taken 3 weeks hours of calls and messaging to try and close the account in his name. The upset they caused and lack of respect for someone going through a bereavement is a total disgrace, just like every other aspect of this hideous company. Avoid at all costs.

I am absolutely disgusted with talk talks' customer service and negligence. They took over my line from shell energy without my consent. But they refuse to take responsibility for fixing the connection issues and road works outside my flat. When You call them the staff give incorrect information and repeat the same scripted questions over and over again just to annoy you and waste your time. They do not care about their customers at all.they expect their bills to be paid perfectly on time. And they are straight on your back if there's an issue. But when they have your money and their WiFi constantly drops out. They don't want to know it is pure negligence. I have received far better more respectful service from Iceland food warehouse and st Anne's support worker than this multi_ billion_ pound company. Avoid talking talk at all costs.

I have been a talktalk customer for many years, always paid my dues and been loyal throughout but apparently this counts for nothing. I recently reported a broken router, getting a new one involved jumping through so may hoops I thought I was at the circus. The most recent problem is much more serious, My landline is virtually unusable due to serious noise, despite two engineer visits, several hours on the chat and numerous phone calls the line is still unusable. Talktalk know that a vulnerable person lives here but again that counts for nothing. My phone has now been unusable since 31/7/2026 and there is little sign this will change. I have also formally complained several times but no response. My wife is the vulnerable person and She is very worried about being able to contact emergency services if I am not at home. I have also noticed that the fault is closed after a few days presumably to improve thier apparent repair service. I will leave it to the viewers of this post to form an opinion of this company.

Awful. Just awful. 130 contacts with TT with no resolution. Utterly useless customer service. 6 missed appointments, lies about restored service. I have cancelled my DD and gone to Plusnet. TT now saying payment overdue and want exit fees. Wrong!
TT are in breach of contract and I shall be claiming fraudulent misrepresention together with compensation
Now, don't reply saying you don't have details You have my name on your system which will show my phone number.
Based on previous experience, I won't hold my breath waiting for a call.

Iam disabled and have two kids who are neurodivergent I set up with talk talk to get broadband and never got any internet from them it wouldn’t work I rang again and again and made complaints and it was never sorted so I rang and cancelled the internet as I never received the product I signed up to get! They left me for nearly two months with no internet and kept saying they would sort it! They have billed me and have not refunded me the money they billed me even though they said they would last week!! And are trying to make me pay over 200£ for cancelling my services when I never received the internet or any service from them! I tried again and again and my kids were having melt downs as they had no tablets to use or tv due to having no internet. I opened a new account with sky and now talk talk are trying to say I have to pay over 200 £ if sky doesn’t pay it for switching over but I never switched because I never had the product they are con men like absolute nightmares of a company I really am at a loss due to this company and had months of stress and my kids without their tablets and tv when their neurodivergent and need these to wind down please stay away from this company!

Terrible simply terrible. My router started displaying an orange light and refused to connect for no apparent reason. Called support who “diagnosed” it as a power supply issue. Which I tried to argue was pretty unlikely. Got nothing back but standard waffle from them. Clearly sending a new power supply is first thing in their checklist and they are not interested in doing anything else. Despite not having received it yet I got an email today saying I would be charged £80 for a new router. What?! They had vehemently refused to send me a new router during the support chat. So even though it’s a fault they want to charge me £80?? It’s so bad. Unbelievable!

Internet was not working was messaging a technician called Sohail in the afternoon evening, he promised me the next day it would be working. The next morning Mahika messaged me so i started the story again messages going back and forward all day, then late afternoon another one called Mayur messaged me and wanted to go over the whole thing again.....i lost it phoned someone who still couldnt remedy situation told him i would be unplugging it as it didnt work. now with sky so much better.Think all 3 of the techinicians were AI this is digusting if they cannot resolve problems . They completely wasted my time

Very disappointed with TalkTalk customer service
My broadband suffered repeated internet drops over approximately two weeks. After going through the same AI/chat process several times, TalkTalk eventually sent a technician, and the infrastructure provider also had to become involved. Thankfully, the technical issue is now resolved.
Unfortunately, the customer service experience has been extremely poor. I raised a formal complaint and was twice promised a telephone call between 18:00 and 20:00. On both occasions I kept my phone with me and made sure I was available — no call was received.
I am still trying to get a response, but instead of being able to speak to a person, I am repeatedly directed back to the AI/chat system, which is frustrating and ineffective.
I understand that technical problems happen. What I find unacceptable is the lack of communication and the failure to honour promised callbacks after a formal complaint has been raised.
If customer service and being able to speak to a real person matter to you, I would think carefully before choosing TalkTalk. My experience has seriously damaged my confidence in the company.

Extremely disappointing. I have Full Fibre, but connection cuts out 2–4 times a day, which is completely unacceptable for the price I am paying.
The provider advertises “affordable Wi-Fi in every room”, but this has absolutely not true. In some rooms there is no Wi-Fi at all, or the connection is so weak that it is practically unusable.
I have spent far too much time dealing with poor connectivity and interruptions.
I have now decided to switch to another provider, following recommendations from my neighbours who have a much better-quality broadband service and are paying around HALF what I am paying.
I would not recommend this provider. The price is far too high for the quality of service I have received.

TALKTALK breached the terms of its contract by failing to honour its obligation to provide me with a broadband service (for 6 consecutive days) and a landline telephone service (for two weeks), or offering me (and my wife) an equivalent and functionally viable alternative. For example, when rail services are suspended, replacement services or appropriate compensation are immediately arranged. This recent break in telecom services by TalkTalk has seriously impacted on my work and that of my wife, who operates a charity website.
TALKTALK was made fully aware of the situation all along and was given more than ample time to resolve the problem and restore my services. The situation has not been helped by inadequate and inconsistent responses from TALKTALK, which left me convinced that it is run as a penny-pinching, threadbare commercial concern, as attested by 42,000 customers on Trustpilot who have given TALKTALK a single-star rating.
In the event, I was obliged to make alternative arrangements to regain access to the Internet (now being satisfactorily fulfilled by Vodafone), and I have closed my TALKTALK account.
My experience should serve as a chastening lesson for those looking for a reliable Internet service provider.
Postscript: After posting the contrite reply below, TALKTALK had the temerity to message me, requesting that I reinstate my cancelled direct debit mandate with the company, threatening a recurring monthly administration fee of £12.50 should I not pay up promptly. TALKTALK is not satisfied with one demand; a week later it has sent me a follow-up 'reminder'. If only TALKTALK could be as fastidious in providing services to customers! I can only draw the following alternative conclusions. Either TalkTalk is insincere in its expressed contrition, or the company is chaotic, with one team being kept unaware of another's position - more likely in my experience. Either way, these swift and persistent demands for me to keep paying TALKTALK, regardless of the closure of my account in response to its failure to provide services, suggest a grasping company culture.

I had been with TalkTalk for ages. I applied to get a second line at a new property (a second home). TalkTalk failed to provide the new connection, landing me with a 300 mile round-trip and a day's lost pay to meet an engineer who never turned up. In the process, they managed to cut off my original line (which should not have been dependent on the new line) and were unable to turn it back on.
The only positive thing I can say is that Sara (on the new-orders team) was brilliant - she did her very best in what seems to be a company in total meltdown. No wonder they are going bust!
Please, TalkTalk, if you are reading this - give Sara a bonus and a raise (if there is any money left after the £1.4bn you just flushed).
If you are foolish enough to go with TalkTalk, make sure you 1) Don't ever ask for more than one line. 2) Ask to talk to Sara.

My conversation with Londiwe, one of the team, related to the landline outage that I experienced from 30 July to the morning of 6 August.
In response to my request for an explanation as to why the outage had occurred, and for a copy of it for my records, Londiwe took time to investigate this, while I held the line, and then read out details of the fault - elements of which used technical jargon. Londiwe confirmed that she would endeavour to arrange for details of the fault, in which the Openreach team was involved, to be sent to me in due course. In relation to these aspects, I have nothing but praise for the thorough approach which Londiwe took to address my questions.
The response provided to my questions relating to compensation for the period of outage, were also fully addressed.
Londiwe's excellent help was very much appreciated and she thoroughly deserves five stars, plus, for this.
Please pass on my thanks again to Londiwe, with a copy of my response, if possible.
