Swinton Legal Expenses Insurance
Swinton Legal Expenses Insurance, called them about a problem, talked to someone in England about this, I am in Scotland and this person did not have a Scottish Practicing Certificate and was not a Solicitor. I have had this problem before by Insurance Companies using English Solicitors with no Scottish Legal Experience and no Scottish Practicing Certificate giving me Legal Advice and the Ombudsman found in my favour that I did not get proper Legal Advice, So do not waste your money on Swinton Legal Expenses cover if you are in Scotland, and I was told that anything to do with the Government and Local Authoraties and Councils is not covered, so basically Legal Expenses with Swinton is USELESS AND A WASTE OF MONEY. And remember Trustpilot will not allow you comment to be printed
I tried to contact Swinton Issurance on the emails they gave me but they are not recognised, I know that the Legal Expenses if done by another company but it is the job of Swinton to see that the company they use is competent, professional and know the Law in Scotland and England is different,

Good on line ! But came home from holiday and rang up to renew !!! Needed to change number plate also !!! Was £59 but on phone went up to £134 !!!! Then went on line again and cost £61 !!!!!!

Extremely underhanded…
Extremely poor and underhanded auto-renewal process.
I received an email at the end of last week telling me that my car insurance was going to auto-renew on Monday. I had not realised that the policy I took out last year had been set to auto-renew.
On Sunday afternoon I logged into my Swinton account specifically to stop the renewal, only to discover that there is no way to disable auto-renewal online. The only option appears to be to contact customer services, which was closed because it was outside normal working hours. For something as important as taking hundreds of pounds from a customer's account, it is astonishing that customers cannot manage this themselves online 24/7.
When I checked the policy details, the new insurance was not actually due to start until 9 August, so I reasonably assumed I still had time to resolve it.
That evening, I received an email thanking me for renewing. Swinton had already charged my card for an insurance policy that would not even begin for another six days.
If a company is going to use auto-renewal, customers should receive clear and prominent notice well in advance and most importantly be able to switch auto-renewal off easily through their online account. Requiring customers to telephone a call centre during working hours in order to prevent a future payment is an unacceptable process.
Taking payment six days before the new policy begins, while providing no online mechanism to stop the renewal, feels deliberately weighted in favour of securing the renewal rather than giving the customer genuine control over their policy.
Whatever Swinton may point to in terms of a tick box or terms agreed to a year earlier, this is not what I consider transparent or customer-friendly treatment. The whole experience felt unnecessarily obstructive and underhanded, and has ensured I will not use Swinton again.

Value and very simple to use
Very reasonable price and easy to find and navigate website. Keeping things simple made my experience great. Also a lot cheaper than my insurance renewal who thought it acceptable to considerably increase my insurance after 4 years of customer with no claims.
