Poor service

Poor service. Items not posted for over a week and that's after I contacted them to ask for an update. Still waiting after 10 days.
Extremely poor communication, as in nothing other than an invoice.

Didn't despatch same day despite being…

Didn't despatch same day despite being ordered at 0845hrs. Phoned the next day to find out what was going on. Told that I am "chasing way to early" as it could take 3-5 days. When questioned about if the item had actually been despatched, the customer service rep lied to me saying it had been despatched when in fact the order was not processed until 0315hrs the following day. (Based on when DPD recorded the consignment as "We've received your order details, but have not yet received your parcel").
The item did arrive the following day, but I am afraid the likelihood of me using Superlec again is now very low when taking into account the poor customer service. If you had actually despatched the same day, DPD would have delivered the next day, but instead you lied to me and lost a customer!

Selling items out of stock

Selling items out of stock and then being sent my order short and late. Informed them and they don't seem bothered. Previous orders have been spot on but not this time. Gave them a chance to correct their error hence this review.

Since originally writing this review Superlec direct have made this good without communicating this to me, the missing items arrived today 8th May 2026.

The prices were competitive/ delivery fast

The prices were competitive, but cheaper than Screwfix/Toolstation.
Also delivery of parts was super fast so would definitely shop here again.

Collingwood downlights…

I purchased the Collingwood downlights from Superlec and was initially contacted the same week to say they were awaiting stock, which was expected to arrive the following Wednesday — exactly one week from our conversation. Based on that update, I was happy to wait.

However, after receiving no dispatch confirmation or further communication, I contacted the company myself only to be told that the downlights would now not be available until July at the earliest.

What I find most disappointing is not just the delay itself, but the complete lack of communication. A delay of a few days is understandable, but a delay of nearly two months without any proactive update to the customer is unacceptable. At no point did anyone contact me to explain the situation or offer any alternatives.

I’m not sure what level of customer service Superlec normally aims to provide, but this experience has been extremely poor and frustrating from start to finish. Customers should not have to chase for basic information regarding orders they have already paid for.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be purchasing from Superlec again and would not recommend them to others.

I am very sorry for the experience you have received from ourselves unfortunately the manufacturer had significant delays which caused ourselves to be unable to process your order. You should have been contacted regarding this but our manufacturer didn't let us know about the further delays. We will be putting processes in place to ensure this doesn't happen again.
