Being a long time employee at SunTrust Bank!

I was an employee of SunTrust Bank for over 33 years. It merged with Crestar. I had problems with age discrimination, and being qualified for certain positions, but not getting the job which was given to someone who was less qualified. I only stayed at SunTrust so long because I had five weeks of vacation. I was never elected to officer status or any status. I hope this bank becomes better towards minorities and older people for job opportunities.

After fighting with these people to…

After fighting with these people to stop sending me paper statements, after 8 years, they added insult to injury. They started charging me $3 each month for something I was trying to get rid of. Their computer kept changing paperless to paper all by itself. Every month I had to send an email telling them to credit my account and fix this. When I got another paper statement with the $3 charge I sent an email to the manager to remove the charge, and remove her head from where it is before taking her next bowel movement, and find someone to fix this. Sun Trust's
decided to eliminate me as a customer, rather than fix the problem. Either they did not like my comments, or they did not want to be reminded of their incompetence.

I went through identity theft and bank…

I went through identity theft and bank fraud every day someone was taking my money. I hired a lawyer and never got in help from him, there were 7.000 still left in my account for many years I have been trying to get my money instead they have given me the runaround. What can I do to get them to give me the money that was stolen from me.

I've been a Suntrust customer for over 10 years

I've been a Suntrust customer for over 10 years. I can't understate how disappointed I've been in their customer service. As a few examples: we have our mortgage and credit cards with them. After many years of perfect payment history, they solicited for us to apply to a credit consolidation offer, which we did apply for. We were flat out rejected with no explanation. We called several times and never were given a reason as to why we were rejected despite our good credit and perfect payment history. A few years ago my income increased significantly. I asked for a credit line increase. While other credit card companies that I held lines of credit with were eager to increase our limits (some without even solicitation from me), Truist required a hard credit check, which I decided not to do and instead just use other cards with better services. I also refinanced my mortgage with Bank of America - Truist never followed up as to why they are losing our business. Their online service is terrible. It takes an eternity to reach a human being, and most of the time I call, they are unable to help me. I'm just done with this bank and will go with other banks that want and solicit my business.

customer service today

I wanted to thank the banker that helped me with my concerns at the High Point Eastchester Street branch. I was recently scammed via Instagram, however, she assured me my accounts were safe. She went beyond the banking norms to counsel me regarding phishing techniques which calmed my anxiety tremendously. Knowledge is key and once you know you know. Thank you for taking the time and providing great customer service.

Nickel and Dime people to death

My daughter was given a 1200.00 ck drawn on truist bank at closing on her house she works close by said she would just run by there and cash it instead of depositing in her bank credit union . TRUIST charged he 8.00 dollars for cashing a check that one of there customers thats has account there just because my daughter didn't have a account there thats the stupidest thing I have ever heard do they charge every business that takes there checks 8.00 dollars Truist needs to be fined

I'm a caregiver for a woman whose son…

I'm a caregiver for a woman whose son was my best friend. She's bank at BB&t for years and they always cash checks for me for her without charging. Soon as true as took over they charge $8 a check for me to cash for her. She has dementia and then get out much. She has over $100,000 in the bank. I'm going to get her to move it to first citizens Bank. My mom banked at first citizens as did I for years and they treat you right and don't try to gouge you . They have all new people at the bank on eastway in Charlotte that used to be BB&t. The manager there was very rude to me. The woman's other son lives in California and when his brother died I was there when he went up there and sign him over as the power of attorney. They wouldn't even talk to him on the phone they said they had no record of that. SunTrust can change their name but they're still a bad Bank

SunTrust (now Truist) has gone to the dogs.

After ten minutes of jerking to the voice-mail choices, I finally got a human who assured me that if I came over in 25 minutes, I could get some documents notarized. I went over, and couldn't find the branch -- they had shut down the stand-alone building in the parking lot and I couldn't see another Truist sign anywhere. After 20 minutes of trying to get through to my former friend at Truist on my cell-phone, I reached him and asked what was going on and where was the branch office. He said, very casually, "Oh, that branch has been closed for months now. There is no longer a branch in that shopping center." This wasted, overall, an hour of my time and I got nothing done. Today, I went in to Bank of America (after calling first) and was all done and back on the road in a little over ten minutes. I have banked with SunTrust (now Truist) for at least a decade, and I intend to close my account. When you click on a button on their site, a little idler-ball spins while the system works and a message comes up. Is the message "Just a moment" or "We're getting the data"? No, the message is "Hang tight." Their site is horrible, the implementation is defective, it's buggy as hell... and apparently they think they're surfer bro's, not bankers. This is a really bad way to end a 10-12 year good experience.

Just closed my savings account

Just closed my savings account, got a cashiers check for the balance, and took it to another local bank. When the teller at my new bank saw the Truist envelope she literally said “another escapee I see.” That’s about all I need to say about the Truist customer service. They are the rudest individuals I’ve ever dealt with!

I had to give one star because I can't…

I had to give one star because I can't give zero . Their app update has locked me out of my account. I've been trying to make a car payment for 3 days . Ive sat on hold for up to 3 hours at a time and still no one answers. My payment is late and now my credit will take a hit . If you aren't a truist customer , don't become one

Pathetic

Pathetic. 3 hour hold to get my mortgage payoff. I went to 2 different branches and they could not get it for me. Said I had to call. This is bank pathetic. I have taken my accounts and moved. I would never recommend this bank to anyone. Find yourself a small hometown bank. Truist stinks!!

The rudest and most suspicious banking…

The rudest and most suspicious banking experience I have ever experienced in over 20 years. Many co-workers dealing with the same or worse. I will be changing banks because I question their legitimacy and do not trust them with my money at all. There needs to be an investigation because I believe it has been handled so poorly they are desperate and doing questionable things. Former BB&T, Suntrust, Truist, and all involved should be investigated and held liable.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Wait time for representative is 50-60 minutes. I simply want to check if a bill pay transmission for a mortgage payment went through during the transition from SunTrust to Truist (my register says it did, but the mortgage company has not received it). Also, when I checked on this the last time--after waiting nearly an hour on hold--they said everything was okay.

This was the worst customer service I…

This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I called, I received a recording that said my call would be answered in under two minutes. Foolishly I stayed on the line for over one hour before my call was answered. After about 15 minutes of discussion, I was told that my issue could not be answered over the phone and that I would have to visit one of their bank locations. Very frustrating, sad and disappointing.

Truit took over suntrust - no care for there customer's

Truit took over suntrust. I have been with them over 40 years. I whent to get money out of the bank by a atm card.
Would not work because it wanted a truit card. I dont have a truit card nor was one sent to me. I have no money in my pocket to by fuel and i barly got home on fumes. This is sunday no one to talk to at truit. Even used the stolen line and it came back we are closed. I noticed there are alot of complaints and never have i seen a company with such bad reviews that low. Shame on trunit being this bad !!!!

This bank sucks... 33 years with them

33 years with this bank, I try to withdraw money and they treat me like a criminal.
I call customer service and try to speak with a person that does not speak English and they tell me it is all taken care of.
I go back the next day and the manager treats me like a terrorist and will not let me withdraw money out of my account but he sure enough will allow me to deposit a check.
Tells me I need to go to a branch that knows me, I have not stepped foot into a branch in 30 years, the person that created my account is dead by now.

This merger has helped with my decision to leave , I was worried about changing all my auto drafts but it seems like I have to do that any how.

I need to transfer money tonight and the app says I do not have any accounts..... I have 10 accounts.

These people are so out of touch with the real world
