A Warning to Anyone Considering Purchasing an Audi Approved Used Vehicle

Before purchasing any approved used vehicle, make sure you obtain and thoroughly review the vehicle preparation sheet. Check every specification, particularly the condition of wear-and-tear components, and ensure the car is genuinely roadworthy. You should not find yourself facing another £1,500 repair bill within just a few months of purchase.

Audi vehicles already have their fair share of reliability and build-quality concerns. The last thing customers should have to deal with is purchasing an approved used vehicle that appears to have undergone only the bare minimum of preparation, with essential wear-and-tear items seemingly overlooked.

My experience is a clear example.

I purchased a three-year-old Audi A6 in April. By August, after driving just 3,300 miles, I was facing the replacement of all four brake discs and pads. During this period, the vehicle had to return to the dealership four times.

Unfortunately, as this was my only vehicle, I had little choice but to continue driving it while the dealership repeatedly referred to the mileage I had covered since purchase, rather than acknowledging the possibility that the braking system was already inadequately prepared at the point of sale.

To put things into perspective, I had covered less than 5% of the vehicle’s mileage since purchasing it, yet had effectively consumed around 20% of the remaining brake disc and pad life.

An earlier vehicle health check had also indicated that the braking system was already approximately 85% worn. Despite this, the dealership has refused to acknowledge that the vehicle may have been sold without adequate preparation. Its response? A goodwill offer of just £120, which was hardly meaningful given the circumstances and potential repair costs.

The problems have not stopped there. For a vehicle that is only three years old, it has displayed a catalogue of issues, including faults that the dealership has been unable to replicate and therefore has not been able to resolve under warranty. One particularly frustrating issue is the inconsistent cold-start behaviour, where the engine struggles and takes noticeably longer to start.

The biggest disappointment is the gap between the premium brand image and the actual customer experience.

You expect an Audi Approved vehicle to offer reassurance, quality and peace of mind. Instead, my experience has involved repeated dealership visits, unexpected repair costs, unresolved faults and very little accountability.

A premium badge should come with premium standards of preparation and after-sales service. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

My advice to anyone considering purchasing an Audi, particularly from this dealership( Aylesbury): think twice, request the full vehicle preparation report and independently check every aspect of the car before signing anything. Do not assume that an Approved Used badge automatically guarantees the condition or quality of the vehicle.

Consider other brands, its premium name which comes with premium contributions rather than premium feel.

Remedial works is just so expensive, will no longer use Audi for services etc

The Technician who carried out the work was good explained everything and of course the customer service chap was first class explaining about the service plan which I signed up to.

I had had a dreadful last week in terms of general poor customer service from other Companies. So it was so refreshing and a much welcome relief to have such a great customer service experience when I walked into the showroom at Aylesbury. Reception were brilliant and personally took me to the Parts Dept where I had already made arrangements to pick something up. Sam from the Parts Dept was an absolute star, so professional, helpful and went above and beyond in how he dealt with me (including when I first spoke with him earlier on the phone that day to check if the part was in). Although I am a VW driver I am now aware that they also service VW which is great to know. Based on my experience I would certainly recommend this garage....free coffee whilst I waited !!

Fixed fault and even provided extra parts not covered by warranty free. Local Audi dealers would not look at the car for 4 weeks, booked in within 48 hours car fixed in 24 hours, cleaned inside and out for free. Excellent service, deffinatly buy car from them again.

Crap company. Never fix things on time and when they do fix the car it usually fails soon after.

First time failed on the forecourt when leaving.

Second time the brand new fuel hose came off and spilled diesel all over the M1. Highways agency now seeking payment for the cleanup.

Avoid this dealer.
