Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 337 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently reported significant dissatisfaction with the claims process, describing it as difficult, slow, and often unfair, leading to denied parts or low payouts. Many also encountered poor customer service, citing unhelpful staff, difficulty reaching representatives, and a lack of clear communication or follow-through. Reviewers often found the prices too high, with rates constantly increasing, feeling they were not receiving good value for their money. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with specific agents and staff members. These individuals were praised for being helpful, thorough, and professional, assisting with quotes, policy transfers, and claims. A few people also found their rates competitive or were able to lower their premiums without sacrificing coverage.

An outstanding experience with this company, they actually were not even my particular insurance agent, however now I'm going to switch over to them especially because of Amanda Nunez who did an excellent job at handling the claim and without her I wouldn't know where I would be right now and I want to recommend anybody and everybody reading this too please give State farm insurance a chance and if you have any problems please contact State farm insurance and if you have to use the extension 31143 that's her extension she is excellent and she will help you

Rename the company to "Shady Farm"

We were in an accident that was caused by a State Farm customer. It clearly states in the accident report (written by a State Trooper) that "Driver 1" (the State Farm driver) failed to yield to on-coming traffic in a roadway. I have over $3,000 worth of damage on my car, yet State Farm denied the claim and denied the police report that says the State Farm customer was at fault!! State Farm rep was very shady with me on the phone and wouldn't even give me the correct State Farm auto policy number from Driver 1. Driver 1 gave the wrong policy information to the police officer and I wanted the correct policy number, but the State Farm rep said I couldn't have it. We tried to swerve to miss the car that hit us and State Farm says "we should have tried harder!" Now I have to file a Subrogation with my insurance company and pay a deductible. State Farm is NOT a reputable company!! If I could have marked a "zero" star for this review, I would have!

State Farm Claims agent Cynthia Lovett…

State Farm Claims agent Cynthia Lovett had horrible customer service and did not do her due diligence when it came to the investigation of my claim. She never contacted me only way I spoke to the claims agent if I contacted them and even after I contacted them they did not have any answers on the claim. Cynthia Lovett was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. If anyone else deals with Cynthia Lovett State Farm claims agent I do feel bad for them because they won’t be dealing with a professional.

Very disappointed in the whole process

Very disappointed in the whole process. They drag their feet on your claim and then when they finally come up with a number to pay you its lower than your car is worth and then they rush you at signing the papers or you don't don't get paid. They have you over a barrel because they want to take away the rental seven days after they offer your money. They are still dragging their feet....

State Farm has been an absolute…

State Farm has been an absolute nightmare to deal with regarding my claim for my 2020 BMW 540i. They clearly do not have the customer’s best interest in mind and have completely disregarded the level of quality and proper repairs a high-end vehicle requires. On top of my $1,000 deductible, I am now being forced to pay over $1,500 out of pocket just to ensure the repairs are done correctly. Approving paint work on only one side of the front bumper while leaving the other side untouched — resulting in an obvious mismatch in paint and texture — is completely unacceptable. The entire process has been exhausting, frustrating, and far below the standard anyone should expect from an insurance company.

30 YEARS OF LOYALTY = ZERO PROTECTION

30 YEARS OF LOYALTY = ZERO PROTECTION. STATE FARM IS A FRAUD.

I have been a loyal customer of State Farm for a combined 30 years. I have paid tens of thousands in premiums, trusting the "Good Neighbor" lie. Now, after a storm ripped the siding off my home, State Farm has shown its true face: SCUM.

They denied my official storm claim using a hidden "Fine Print Trap" on Page 18 of our homeowners policy that was never properly disclosed. They refuse to match my siding, essentially telling me I have to live in a "zebra-striped" house that devalues my largest asset. Look at the photos - this two-tone patchwork monstrosity is what they call a "repair."

THE BETRAYAL: The Bribe:
They said the renewal will include a "loyalty rebate" to secure my June 17th renewal while simultaneously refusing to fix my home. The Gaslighting: They claim my proactive repairs to protect my property from further damage "prevented" their investigation.

The Lawsuit: State Farm is already being sued by the Illinois Attorney General for obstructing investigations into their "market fairness" and claims handling. To my neighbors:

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.
They are not a neighbor; they are a premium-collection machine that will abandon you the moment it rains. I am firing them effective June 17th!

Now my neighbors are concerned, sending me text messages of the two tone siding, questioning why? I hope the Illinois attorney general does the right thing and issues a mutli-million dollar fine for such scathing practices for each attempt it avoided helping the homeowner.

I spoke with an agent to get new auto and home policy

I spoke with an agent to get new auto and home insurance Friday afternoon. The agent was amazing. The problem is State Farm's customer service. It is just endless IVR loops and AI garbage. The agent sent me the link to create my account, but, like I said, the email was incorrect so I couldn't create the account. I called State Farm's 800 number and spent the next two hours trying ever IVR option available to speak to a person. My final resolution was that AI called my agents office and let me leave a message so my agent could call me back Monday, technically Tuesday since Monday is a holiday. Personally, this was great in that I got to learn great information about State Farm as an company before I decided to be one of their customers. The message that I left my my agent was to cancel the policies.

My agent is Merritt Massey in Milledgeville, GA and I appreciate how he and his associate, Justin, followed up so thoroughly and promptly on my claim for auto repair and diminished value on my wrecked automobile. He has been my agent since 1986, and I have been insured by State Farm since I got my drivers license.

Unprofessional, Misleading, and Fraudulent Practices

On May 8th, 2025 I spoke with a State Farm agent concerning life insurance for my husband and was charged $524.19 for a $300,000.00 policy, and was setup with ExamOne for an home visit. The person from ExamOne never came out and I was met with horrible disrespect and unprofessional behavior. Blake Guy, the Statefarm agent, set up another appointment for June 4th, 2026, and canceled the June 2nd, 2026 appointment. I was later informed by Nickie and Jessica who work for ExamOne that Blake Guy canceled all appointments and the order all together. I contacted Statefarm, Black Guy, who claimed he did not cancel the appointments. I requested my full payment back, which he promised me I would recieved, and as of today's date, I haven't received it. He also claimed that my husband had serious health issues which is very untrue. My husband's son, Jr, does, and his health has nothing to do with my husband Sr.

I continue to ask for the full refund, which was guaranteed to me by Statefarm agent Blake Guy, which they debited from my bank account. I have not received my money, or any services from Statefarm for my husband's life policy.

I truly believe Statefarm actively sought to both mislead, and give me false information. I want my full refund back as promised by Statefarm.

The worst of the worst

The worst of the worst. Scammers and liars. I have a third-party claim, and I was away when the collision took place. They refuse to fix the issues and only selectively handpick what gets fixed.

Jennifer at Statefarm is highly recommended

Jennifer at Statefarm was incredibly helpful and thorough. She quoted a rate that no other insurer would for a homeowners policy. My mortgage which had recently skyrocketed due to an increase in insurance, went down and since my insurance is paid with my mortgage, it is much more comfortable. Thanks, Jennifer!

I have been driving for 61 years and have been with State Farm the entire time with Chuck Morgan's office.

Chuck, Shelly, and Ivan have always treated me like I was important to them. They have always handled every situation I have perfectly.

Recently Ivan, once again, Went out of his way to help me resolve a situation.

State Farm love to abandoned their clients

Non responsive claims department.
Like a good neighbor State Farm is no where to be found.
Its impossible to get a hold of anyone at the scam company. What do I pay my monthly premiums for if you can't even get a hold of someone?!
It's been almost 2 months since I filed a claim and I cannot get a single answer from anyone at this dump.

Pay $120 a month for 6 years just to get back less than $2,000? It's a rip-off—it's not worth it. Honestly, they're lying to you. I don’t recommend it

He pagado 120 dólares al mes durante seis años, y al final solo me han devuelto menos de 2000 dólares. Es una estafa, no merece la pena. Sinceramente, te están mintiendo. No los recomiendo.

Stay away from state farm

What went wrong is your adjusters that came out is a flat out liar all 3 of them.
While my nextdoor neighbor is getting a new roof put on some stupid idiot adjuster is standing on mine telling me how my roof is fine and the roofer from next door said it was wasted. I had over 10 roofers tell me my roof is bad. I have leaks and shingles have been blowing off since the first storm and the roof was 5 years old. Let me help everyone out, if you need insurance don't buy state farm, if you have state farm be prepared to be lied to and dropped if you say something they don't like. I have called on my roof 5 times and have been repairing it and watching shingles blowing off of it for 20 years now they say the roof is old and it done it's job well it has done a good job at causing black mold and musty smell and interior damage state farm won't cover because they say I needed a roof. They are not a good neighbor by all means and when I told the adjuster that every house in my neighborhood has gotten a new roof he looked at me and smiled and said not every one did insinuating the ones other than mine that didn't also had state farm. I have been warned about this insurance company for years but I thought after being with them for several years they would come through but here I am sitting through a storm watching my roof leak and more shingles blowing off because of 6 major storms including a tornado that have beaten my roof to a battered down pile of trash that state Farm says is from normal wear and tear lol this insurance company should be investigated and the adjusters that came to my house should be put in prison for fraud. The bottom line is don't buy from this company they will tell you what you want to hear and make promises they won't keep and lie straight to your face even after you have given them enough money to buy 10 new roofs and if anyone has something good to say it would surprise me. Stay away from state farm

This company is 100 percent a bait and switch. They advertise free towing and charge an asinine amount of money for a policy. But when you want to use the free tow they say they outsource it and go through a third party. After requesting a tow and waiting all day they sent a van. Definitely look elsewhere unless you want to get ripped off.
