Hurricane Helene and State Farm have a lot in common. Neither care about the damage imo.

Had state farm for both home and auto for over 10yrs. No claims. Hurricane Helene damaged my roof. State farm appraised damage cost to roughly 3600.00. My policy states RCV for roof (roof age not a factor). Not ACV. They, in my opinion violated the policy contract but now I cannot do anything about it due to a very short time frame I was not aware of on my policy to take legal action. (1yr)
Every roofer I talked to said that my damage was too extensive and required total replacement. Fought with their auditor for almost a year. They asked for more pictures. I sent it. They asked for brittle test. I sent it from a different roofer. I did try to get an independent auditor but ran out of time due to next hurricane season and I could not risk more damage to roof or leaks. Ended up dipping into my savings and getting a loan to replace my roof. State Farm even threw their own roofer under the bus by saying he did not do a "brittle test" Roofer said the ins company was blaming them for faking a test that has no industry standard and can be used to deny claims either way. (roof too new? replace only. roof too old or near age of warranty (mine was 25yr warranty and I was 9mo past that-claim; will or can be denied. Again, my roof while old was not under the ACV part of the policy and did not matter. Plus I had no damaged tiles before the hurricane. IMO they just wanted to reduce paying as many as possible regardless of the the policy. I have referred people to state farm in the past, never again. I suggest anyone find another company to waste your money on. Final note. They paid the (fix the roof value of 3.6k ish) and some of the cost of damages sheds but it was mostly discounting the cost of me paying for it myself. They even denied compensating the remainder. I tried.

Terrible car insurance company

Terrible car insurance company. If you are their customer and get hit by someone . Don’t expect help or empathy from this company. If you say you have a lawyer they will refuse to speak to you . They are the worst company ever. I see why their reviews are so low . Not to mention how often they raise your rates .

Prices and incentives are pretty good…

Prices and incentives are pretty good but customer service is piss poor. The agent they assigned to you never answers your questions. I actually ask them to change my agent. I received an email 3 weeks later to find an agent myself. They sell you insurance and then kicks you to the curb.

Criminal business

Their claims process is not just bad. It's criminal. And when I say criminal, there's a reason State Farm keeps losing lawsuits and class actions for undervaluing vehicles and cheating their customers out of what's owed to them.

TAYLOR BURKE

My complaint is with the State Farm Inspector, TAYLOR BURKE. I had water damage in my upstairs bathroom that caused damage to the ceiling in the bathroom downstairs. The ceiling sheet rock in that bathroom started to sag. Taylor Burke came to my home to inspect the damage . He was looking at the sheet rock that was sagging. I asked him if he was going to pull that area of sheet rock down in order to see the damage. His Reply was " I don't do that". I'm 70 years old. I asked him if he wanted me to climb up on the sink to pull the sheet rock down. His reply was " Go for it". So, that is exactly what I did. Remember that I am a 70 year old female and this so called inspector stood there and watched me climb onto the sink and do what he was supposed to do as an Inspector. I reported this inspector to his boss. If you have State Farm, which is your first mistake and are in need of an inspector please make sure it is not TAYLOR BURKE.

CAN ANYONE HELP WITH CLAIM

I WAS IN PROCESS OF DOIN CLAIM I PAY MY INSURANCE PAYMENT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE BUT MY CLAIM SPECIALIST HAS DONE NOTHING BUT BE RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL AN BASICLY ALL BUT CALL ME THE N'WORD I SPOKE WITH SUPERVISOR SHE I KNEW WOULD NEVER AGREE THAT HER EMPLOYEE WAS RASICT I JUST NEED TO KNO WHO I NEED TO SPEAK WITH FOR HELP I EMAILED CEO THE CLAIM DEPT BOSS WITH NO RETURN CALL OR EMAIL FROM ANYONE (CRICKETS)

LaSharia Baker: Excellent in State Farms Claims

I have been with State Farm insurance for decades and when a tree fell on my house and I had to enter a claim for the first time, I was nervous about the process. Fortunately, I had LaSharia Baker to help with my claim. She arrived on time, was professional and friendly. She took her time to look at the damage and schedule the inspections. She explained the process and always called me back in a timely manner. LaSharia took what was an unfortunate situation and made it possible for me to work through and move on with life. Thank you for the excellent service.

Dishonest bait-and-switch quoting

Dishonest bait-and-switch quoting. Corporate actively defends agent deception.Review:Do not trust the initial quotes given by State Farm agents, even if you are entirely honest with them. I explicitly disclosed a ticket on my record to the local agent before purchasing a combined auto and home bundle. The agent ignored my disclosure, issued a low quote anyway, and took my full payment upfront before I signed a single final document.Two weeks later, while I was away on holiday, State Farm hit me with a 50% increase on my auto policy for the exact ticket I had already disclosed. Because of this deceptive practice, I canceled the auto policy and moved to AAA. State Farm then retaliated by raising my homeowners policy by 50% as well, claiming my multi-policy discount was no longer valid.To make matters worse, when they issued my pro-rated refunds for canceling, they calculated the math using the retroactively inflated, higher rates—not the original rates I actually agreed to and paid for. They essentially stole extra daily premium from me on the way out.When I escalated this to State Farm Corporate, representative Kim O’Connell (610-358-7495) completely dismissed the agent’s upfront awareness of my driving history. She explicitly backed this bait-and-switch tactic, stating that this is just how State Farm does business.I have moved all of my business to AAA. State Farm operates on deception, traps you with bundle removal penalties when you call them out, and corporate will actively defend their dishonest agents. Avoid this company.

The worst customer service possible

The worst customer service possible. They just hire anyone without properly training them.
I started a claim recently for my vehicle for an electric problem, the person sent my car via tow to an auto body shop. And state farm refused to give me another tow to get it off their lot. I asked multiple times and they ignored my question.
Its been several days they havent contacted me back in regards to my claim. In fact over these reasons this is why we decided to handle the repair out of pocket

only reason I m giving a one is because of rental adjustor was excellent. Auto adjustor Troy McGee he thinks he someone father. Cause he did not like what I was saying the truth and trying to stop him for paying the body shop damages, that it was not their. He told me to shut up and you know that was not going to happen. I told you shut up. At the same time I m recording it and progressive on the phone. Wrote a statement and send a copy of the estimate. They want to pay who they want to pay. Troy McGee, Brandon the manager and the guy over him Jose. They all covering it up. They knowing know they pay for the wrong damages. That s why I m canceling state farm, the first shop did the work and they refuse to pay him storage, that owe. Waiting for the tow truck driver to get the car 2 weeks. The body shop jordan body shop on gwynn oak , Chris the manager they paid them for storage, when he got the money for the key. Did not say anything for 3 weeks. And made them paid storage. You need to check these adjustor. Also, it state if you file with bbb, about one person they can not assign it back to that person.brandon the manager did not care and stated I m not worrying about bbb. So the insurance commissioner filing a claim. I still owe the first shop for storage. He retialtion and close my claim. Awful, you need to go over the claim, main office and listen to how they talk to people.

I am trying to get my car damage…

I am trying to get my car damage repaired and State Farm is actively stonewalling - providing "direct numbers" to the agent Itala Watson, that she knows goes straight to a bot and cannot be answered. Text links that do not work. It is clearly an attempt to get me to simply give up. Stay away from State Farm.

During the claim our agent disappeared several times leaving us hanging. Payments were delayed. Nightmare experience. Worst company ever. AVOID

I had the worst experience with the…

I had the worst experience with the claims department and cancelling my insurance. 1) When you decide to cancel your plan, they seem indifferent. They simply say they'll take care of it, without guiding you through the process or providing any information about how it's handled.
2) Their claims department frequently changes adjusters, leading to a lack of consistency in who is managing your case.
3) Both the claims department and the insurance representatives do not return calls. You are often left waiting for weeks, forcing you to repeatedly reach out just to cancel your policy or discuss your claim. They sent me a letter with a sign by due date. I had to leave a voicemail about signing the papers. Instead of following up with me, they merely mailed out two copies of the same paperwork, without confirming if I could still sign the original notice.

An outstanding experience with this…

An outstanding experience with this company, they actually were not even my particular insurance agent, however now I'm going to switch over to them especially because of Amanda Nunez who did an excellent job at handling the claim and without her I wouldn't know where I would be right now and I want to recommend anybody and everybody reading this too please give State farm insurance a chance and if you have any problems please contact State farm insurance and if you have to use the extension 31143 that's her extension she is excellent and she will help you
