Great Service from Smyths
Have to say, Smyths deliveries are great, as good as Amazon, I have placed a few orders for Lego Speed Champions and for the F1 Speed Champions, I placed most of the orders for my Son in the morning, most of the orders arrived within a day or two, I also ordered a Bouncy Castle for my youngest Granddaughter, the Bouncy Castle arrived the following day, for me, that's what I call great customer service, for me, getting the customers orders out quickly, goes a long way to me going back and buying from that company again, my Son has all the F1 Speed Champions and some of the Speed Champions, he'll get the rest from Smyths when he's built his latest models

Almost all the staff are rude.never again . They tried to sell me opened boxes item. All I said is change to unopened ones.
I have ordered toys from Smyth's at…
I have ordered toys from Smyth's at different times of the year, quite a number of times, for all of my grandchildren and I can honestly say that I have never, ever had a problem. Their website is easy to navigate, very clear about stock and usually has what I want. The delivery has always turned up undamaged and on or before due date. I honestly don't know if I have just been lucky but after reading these other reviews, I'm staggered, I really would not going anywhere else online if I want toys.
I purchased a brand new children's bike…
I purchased a brand new children's bike from Smyths, only to discover it had a fault while assembling it. Instead of replacing or refunding the bike, the store refused to help on the day, saying a technician had to inspect it first. As a customer who had just spent £130 on what should have been a new, working bike, this was extremely disappointing.
The bike was eventually repaired, but just two days later the same problem happened again, raising serious concerns about the quality of the product.
I expected a straightforward replacement or refund for a faulty product, but instead I was left without a usable bike and had to keep returning to the store. This is not the level of service I would expect from a major UK retailer, especially when consumer rights are meant to protect customers who receive faulty goods.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend buying bikes from this store. Very disappointed.
Terrible service
Terrible service. Bought a bike. There was issues and they were so unhelpful, customer service is an email all I got was a terrible email, no help. They inspect everything pass the blame and fix nothing. Absolute shower. I now have a refund after hassle. Stick to amazon or anyone else. Utter utter contemptable service and understanding.
Very Poor Online Ordering System
Very easy to order online, not so easy to cancel if circumstances change.
I ordered a very expensive LEGO set, only to discover shortly after paying and arranging to pick up from the store that my wife had purchased the same item directly from the LEGO website an it was already in transit.
Impossible to contact the store to cancel, with no way of emailing or messaging and no one available to answer the phone in store, resulting in a charge for not picking up the order. A very easy way to earn money for nothing.

Purchased Enfa safe navigator I-size R129 belt fitted car seat from Smyths shocking service told 2 different ways to put in seat eventually it was fitted by staff member seat is clearly not suitable for my car but they ensure on 2 occasions there fitting is correct but seat moves around that much it clearly isn’t safe and I would never put my granddaughter in it no customer service they are not interested had car seat checked by Halfords and they said DO NOT put a child in that seat but Smyths are saying it’s fine no refund as the car seat has left the shop complete joke
Ignored My Disability, Ignored My Complaint, and Sold Repeated Faulty Goods
I had a terrible experience with Smyths customer service. I bought two FNAF Endo Series Bonnie figures in separate orders and both were faulty with the same joint snapping. This clearly points to a batch or design fault. Jazwares, who make them, have no proper complaints route, so I turned to Smyths as the retailer.
Instead of helping, customer service claimed I had “ordered the wrong item” even though the orders were separate and I was on the VR Freddie page. They passed me back and forth between the store and customer service, each blaming the other. I told them I had a stroke, have mobility issues, no car, and cannot keep running around. They ignored this completely and still expected me to travel back and forth.
The store staff were polite, but customer service never answered my emails at all. I eventually got a refund only because I went in person, and my son‑in‑law had to drive to another town to replace the second faulty Bonnie because Smyths still expected me to travel despite my disability.
Customer service ignored my disability, ignored my complaint, and ignored the repeated faults. I have now reported Smyths to Trading Standards for failing to make reasonable adjustments and for their handling of faulty goods. Very poor experience

I popped into Smyths on one of those ridiculously hot Saturdays to collect a prepaid order. I couldn't work out why the car park was absolutely rammed...
Then the automatic doors opened.
That glorious blast of cold air hit me in the face, and suddenly it all made sense. I wasn't the only one seeking refuge from the heat.
After a couple of laps of honour around the aisles (purely to appreciate the air conditioning, obviously), I collected my order and headed home.
Thank you, Smyths. I arrived hot, sweaty and questioning my life choices. I left refreshed, slightly cooler, and with a toy I definitely bought for the child...
I’m genuinely frustrated that I can’t browse this website
I’m genuinely frustrated that I can’t even browse this website while using a standard privacy tool like Ghostery. No other major platform I use—my bank, PayPal, Amazon, or eBay—blocks access like this. Yet this relatively small store seems to operate as if it requires higher security than a financial institution.
Instead of allowing users to control their own privacy settings, the site throws a “Pardon Our Interruption” error and assumes normal browsing behavior is suspicious. Being forced to disable extensions or weaken browser protections just to view products is unreasonable and outdated.
If major global platforms can function without blocking privacy-conscious users, there’s no justification for this level of restriction here. At the very least, there should be a more user-friendly way to access the site without compromising basic privacy preferences.
Until this is addressed, I simply can’t use or recommend this store.
A huge thank you to Colin
A huge thank you to Colin, the Manager at Toys R Us,Cown Point Leeds for generously donating a fantastic selection of toys for my Cancer Research raffle during our street’s 100th anniversary celebration. Rather than the toys going to waste, they brought smiles to so many prize winners. Thank you for your kindness, generosity and community spirit
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and lack of communication
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at Smyths Toys Harlow.
I purchased a Flybar Racer Bumper Car for my son on 27 March 2026, but unfortunately it developed a fault and would not move even after being fully charged. Instead of receiving help with resolving the issue, I found the whole experience very upsetting.
During my visit, I felt the store manager spoke to me in a patronising and dismissive manner, including saying “good for you” when I explained that I had bought the item for my son. I did not feel treated with the respect or professionalism I expected.
After the disagreement, I was informed that my receipt had been blocked and was told I could not receive a refund. I have since been trying to resolve this through Customer Services and have spent days chasing updates, but the process has been slow and frustrating.
I understand that businesses have the right to deal with unacceptable behaviour appropriately. However, I believe customers should still have their concerns about faulty products handled fairly and professionally.
I hope Smyths investigates this matter properly and improves how complaints are handled in the future.
How can a big company like this
How can a big company like this not amend a delivery address or cancel an order how the hell does that happen .
Accidentally changed billing address instead of delivery address whom I no longer speak to and probably now won't get my daughter's birthday present. I emailed straight away after I got the email receipt
Shame on you for your stupid bloody delivery rules

Didn’t let me and my two friends in because we are under eighteen it’s age discrimination!!
rude.
I tried to enter the store to purchase my younger sister a Barbie doll. I was with three of my friends and we are 15 years of age. we didn’t mean any harm and when we tried to enter the store, they refused. as two other teenagers who we did not know who had gone in the store before us. The staff are very unfair and were following us around and stood at the front of the store and refused to let us enter. This was the day before my younger sister’s birthday and I was not able to buy her a Barbie doll. I wasn’t allowed to enter until the other teenagers left after they left. when I finally was allowed to enter, they continuously followed me around and made me feel very uncomfortable. The staff are very rude and I do not recommend zero stars.

I was with a few friends (were teenagers) and they refused to let us in because we were too big a group, while letting a family of 8-9 in next to us. It’s ageism. SMH.

worst customer service item never delivered tracking shows this Bad customer service say was delivered to collection point. That's a lie tracking shows out for delivery a month later. no emails to say at collection point. in process of charge back.
Lost delivery and no replacement
I ordered a parcel to be delivered to my niece for her birthday, this was delivered to an address down the street but no card left to say it had been dropped off. When I followed up with smyths to find out where the order was they provided an address and photo of a property from a distance supplied by dpd. The person at the address said they hadn’t received it which to be honest I think probably isn’t true, however I can’t prove otherwise. Smyths referred me to their fraud team stating they would take 7 days to investigate and dpd would likely visit the property they dropped it to. However the next morning I received an email saying they had delivered to a neighbour and it was now a civil matter between me and the neighbour and that they wouldn’t discuss the matter further. Firstly, I didn’t consent to the parcel being delivered anywhere but the delivery address I provided and my contract is with Smyths and in my view they have failed to deliver the goods to me. But also the fact I have been told that I can’t respond to the email is really poor service. Very disappointing from a big company and means I won’t be buying from them again
Stroller - customer service
I purchased a stroller from smyths, we had the stroller for around 3/4 months. In this time the front wheels were faulty. I took it back and it got sent off to be checked, which come back as no fault. Smyths would not do anything to help this situation as they believed nothing to be wrong with the pram. However, the front wheels randomly falling off when going up/down a curb or into a doorway seems to me as unsafe. Would not order again.
Very disappointed with Smyths Toys.
Very disappointed with Smyths Toys.
We bought a bouncy castle, assembled it at home, and realised it wasn't suitable for us because we didn't know it had to run continuously with the blower on. We carefully packed everything back into the original packaging and returned it the next day with the receipt.
The refund was refused simply because the box had been opened, even though the item had never been used.
Be sure you're 100% happy before opening any product, as Smyths Toys may not accept returns once the packaging has been opened.
