We went to Stonehenge and although it was a two hour drive, it was well worth the visit. Only thing is the wind was so strong I felt I was in a typhoon when we were visiting those amazing sacred rock... See more

Great tour-to little time

The Tour was really good.
Windsor was great, Stonehenge aswell - though disappointing to findout you actually have to pay to see the stones.

Anyway the only negative thing was, when we finally got to Oxford, there wasn't enough time.
I would have prefered if there had been 1 more hour to spend in Oxford - it would still be early evening when arriving back in London.

I went on two tours with Evans and Evans. Both were worth the money. The tour guides, One was Mel and the other was Lois. they both were great. Recomend this . Also went on the The Big Bus Tour which was really nice as it was on and off and so convient.

Our driver left someone at the rest stop

The driver warned us several times as the beginning of the trip that we may miss Stonehenge and for the passengers to keep their fingers crossed. We left on time, but the company left little time for a bad traffic OR leaving someone behind! Yes, someone was left behind at the rest stop and the drivers was not able to go back since we were crunched for time. I'm not sure what happened to that person, but It made for a terrible experience since our driver kept telling the passengers that we may not get to go at all if we turn around and pick that person up. We circled for about 10 minutes for the office to decide if the bus should go back. Thankfully, we made it Stonehenge.

Dear Alex,

Thank you for your feedback of your experience on the Stonehenge Express Tour.

On the way to Stonehenge, unfortunately, some passengers told the driver they ‘desperately’ need to use the toilet, so he pulled into Heston services, where most of the coach got off. On the tour were 46 passengers and the driver counted 46 passengers before pulling out of the service station. Unfortunately, one passengers had not boarded the coach and by the time they had called us the coach was well on its way to Stonehenge, the only opportunity the coach had of turning back would have been at Reading which is a long way from Heston. If the driver had done this the whole coach of passengers would have missed seeing Stonehenge as it is still in winter opening times.

We then proceeded to send a car to collect the passenger who was left behind at Heston Services.

Before we leave London passengers are told to use the toilets if they need to as we do not have a scheduled stop before Stonehenge, but if someone is desperate then we have to stop – or the whole coach could suffer from very unpleasant consequences as I am sure you understand. We do allow time for congestion on our tours and you would not have been at risk of not seeing Stonehenge as the tour leaves at 12:45pm and last entrance is 3:15pm which therefore leaves plenty of time for any congestion (journey time from London to Stonehenge is 2 hours). But, I assume on this occasion there may have been a serious issue with traffic that could have impacted the journey time outside of normal congestion – although it is great news that you were able to take the tour and see Stonehenge.

Kind regards,

Chris

Tour Guide was amazing

A jam-packed day: Stonehenge, Baths and Salisbury but it was completely worth it. Our tour guide was so incredibly knowledgeable about the three locations, with a lot of extra information about London and other topics, that it was wonderful to hear. As a foreign graduate student living here in London, I appreciated his suggestions on historical restaurants and pubs to visit. The only downside of the tour was that we had little down time (between Baths and Stonehenge and later between Stonehenge and Salisbury) for me to sit down and have a proper lunch or explore. Other than that, it was a great tour.
