Shearings must be doing well. I tried on 2 consecutive days to make changes to a holiday we booked for 2027. Changes which couldn't be made on line. Told on phone nobody available to ring us back. Twi... See more

Just been to Jersey Treasures and Bournemouth Shores.
From 12 June to 19 June 2026 . The Bournemouth East Cliff Hotel in Poole. Well this Hotel is disgusting, dirty carpets, Staines mould on bath taps, the bathroom window was filled with filler, Dust on bedside cabinets.
No food or bar at this hotel, you had to go next door to the Carlton Hotel for Breakfast and Dinner. Toilets down a flight of stairs, not good for people who could not get down the stairs, you had to go back to your room to use the toilet. The swimming pool was green dirty water could not use it, Hotel needs Decorating inside and out or closing down this hotel. Shearings need to use another hotel.

The booking process was user friendly. Sam was professional, friendly and so pleasant. Communicated at a great pace, obviously used to 79 yr olds😉 . If Sam’s approach to welcoming clients to Shearings is an indicator of the company then we’re in for a great holiday.

It's easy to book online I've used this holiday company twice before enjoyed both holidays and you get looked after very well

The booking was straightforward, coach stated to be a luxury coach, I don't think it was. We went on blenheim palace trip, inc Stratford on Avon and leamington spa, no town maps or any details of places to visit was given. As stratford known you could do your own research but Leamington was not known so you were literally just dropped of to your own devices. Bleinheim didn't need as on doorstep. prior to booking my wife asked if they catered for Gluton free and it was confirmed they could. Presented midway through journey to select from a limited menu; only one choice for gluten free which was not really wanted. I could only choose fish and chips. The meal was the worst I have ever had, the fish looked like it was bought frozen from a supermarket. It was supposed to be Cod i could not tell as it was so thin. We had to choose from a set menu for the following night, no options for my wife although she could have fruit salad again for the next night, she asked the waiter several times about the meals, the waiter did try but they could not accommodate. We went to a nearby retaurant for the next night they had options for gluten free people. Didn't mind the coach, the driver was ok but part of our holidays is having a relaxed good meal. we wont use Shearings again

We have had a 9 day holiday with shearings to Switzerland.
Booking was easy through agent.
Drivers were fantastic ( Martin & Mike)the tours and scenery were fabulous.
There was an extensive amount of time on coach every day,
No time to relax and enjoy.
The journey in was long but stop at first hotel was great also same coming back hotel was great.
I am afraid the hotel in Flims was not good
48 mostly over 70 years of age passengers.
No walk in showers
No Bar
Breakfast only hot dish was scrambled egg each day. Continental acceptable just.
Packed lunch dry bread cheese dry apple water did up grade to juice and cereal bar after complaint.not acceptable.
Evening meal soup salad acceptable but cold food fish fingers chicken nuggets hot dogs( cold) not acceptable
I am surprised we did not get ill .
Rooms were clean balcony dirty all chairs broken as were chairs out side area.
The amount of time spent on coach without a comfort stop was not acceptable not drivers Fault but Shearings unacceptable timing.
Will not use Shearings again or recommend them to anyone long stay hotel simply not up to standard for price paid.
More likely to be suitable for school children

Bruges & Ghent 12th June 2026
Our driver was Steven and he made the trip fantastic
Great customer service skills, helpful, informative, caring, friendly, good sense of humour not to mention good driver.
We had a bad experience on our last ledger trip and didn’t want to do any more trips with the company. Our friends persuaded us to go and we are glad we did, weather was beautiful, the small family run hotel was very clean and great choice at breakfast.
One thing that would’ve made the trip even better would be if Shearing provided a 2nd driver (as per their advertise). On all our previous trips there have always been two drivers, one is then able to provide drinks & snacks etc
Steven was on his own and I feel Shearing should value their good members of staff and not take advantage of their good nature! The whole trip relies on the driver, they can make or break it for you, so stop trying to save money and make sure no driver goes out on their own, God knows what would’ve happened if the driver was to fall ill on the trip??
So overall great trip, made great by Steven our driver. Shearing please live up to your advertising and have 2 drivers please

We called this morning 25th June to chat about a trip with Shearings.
We were lucky enough to chat with Paul.
Paul talked through the whole of the holiday we were interested in booking.
He talked about every aspect of were we pick up our coach, timings hotel standards were we would stay. The cost, Told us about some of the beautiful places we would be visiting.
He went into very important items such as steps, hills, we are taking a walking stick for my husband so this was great information for us.
We went on to chat about food we like, dietary requirements .
Showers in rooms, times of meals.
I really think he was probably the best person we have ever booked a holiday with.
Believe me we are obsessed with travel.
So a big thank you to Paul for being so patient, & knew all the answers to our questions.
We have booked 6 nights 7 days to Baveria for next April 17th
Very excited thanks Helen & Bob Lowrie

My friend and I went on the Lake Garda Trip from the 5/6 to 13/6 and had an absolutely fantastic time
Dave and Jesse were great ambassadors for Shearings and looked after us so well, and the hotel was just perfect . The owner and staff were so accommodating and friendly it was a pleasure to stay at Hotel Villa Mulino and would happily go back tomorrow
Food was lovely and plenty of it :) my scales can confirm!
Met strangers on day one and from then onwards were friends and having had a Karaoke night and creating a Shearings Choir ,we are keeping in touch
We have booked to go to Lake Como same dates next year booked yesterday
I cannot fault the service and the assistance from staff at the end of the phone, all polite and very helpful, yet again a credit to Shearings
Thank you for a FAB holiday

We went to paighton with sherings, it was worse holiday ever.
The food wasnt edible not cooked over cooked and no selection. Two options isnt a choice when people have allergies and intolerences and dietry reqirements.
Every table sent food back not eaten. It was disgusting. Powered mash, thick hairy skin on new potatoes. Cheap nasty meals and fish.
Rooms dirty, not once was it hoovered or bins emptied. We ran out of loo roll twice milk and coffee everyday.
Sheets same all week and towld same all week.
The whole place was very very very basic.
Manager rude and argued with me over moms allergies. Like he kmew better !!!
I wouldnt recommend any sherings coach trips. As ive heard they are all the same cheap and nasty.
Staff generally ok but coach driver James was amazing.
They dont cater for peoples dietry needs two options amd veggie option isnt enough choice. And i suggest you employee a chef. And let them do men
u not head office delusional personnel.
Overall worst holiday ever and made us.both really ill. Its took two weeks to get over. Annoyed we had to eat out a d spend more money because we where so hungry.

Have experienced happy memories on several shearings holidays over past years and have always recieved good customer care, organised arrangements and had my requests and needs met. I have enjoyed all of my holidays that I have been on, I have seen places on my bucket list that I would not see as I would not drive long distance. Good drivers, comfortable clean coaches so that I can enjoy my holiday without stress. Would recomend.

Wrote an complaint email to Shearings customer services on May 19, 2026 and NO REPLY after its promise within 28 DAYS that is related to the Excursion Trip under "The 7-Day Black Forest" (May 11-17, 2026). PAID EUR43 but NO services except the Driver drove us to Strasbourg and got us the local tram ticket then accompanied there - City Centre at 11 am. Asked the Shearings Driver if he knew where to go around. He said NO and only will come back to meet us at 3 pm! Complaint email message NOT being answered since May 19, 2026 (37 days-June 24, 2026).
The entire trip has BAD experience so I need to let others know.

We had to change our holiday arrangements and were dealt with by a lady called Keeley. She sorted out everything for us in the most efficient way, and the whole process was stress free. Thank you so much.

First time venturing on a coach holiday, so a bit apprehensive!
Decided to speak to Representative rather than book on line.
Their staff member (sorry haven't got his name) was excellent.
Put my mind at rest as answered all my questions fully and was helpful.

First of all, I would like to congratulate our driver, Mike, who took us smoothly and considerately to our destination, The Esplanade Hotel, in Paignton, Devon. En-route he did the regular stop, and later in the journey, asked if we wanted a 2nd stop, but everyone said no, we just wanted to get there.
I think, if it wasn't for him, the whole trip would have been a disaster. He gets a gold medal from us.
However, as soon as we got into the hotel, it was the start of a downward journey. Our room was minute, just about able to fit a double bed in and 1 bedside cabinet. When you went to the toilet/shower, you tried to open the door, but you couldn't get into it as the bed was in the way. We had to move the bed to get in, and there, under the bed was open coffee and tea wrappers, pen's, tissues etc, the room had been cleaned only superficially, dust and dirt were on the surfaces.
We asked to change rooms, as the ground floor room was actually up 3 stairs, so my mobility scooter had to be carried up these. But the hotel said there were no other rooms available, they were not particularly helpful, nor it seemed sympathetic. Both Shearings and the hotel had been advised of my mobility issues, and my claustrophobia which prevents me using the lift, and stairs are a big challenge to me.
The hotel had nowhere to sit outside to take advantage of bring opposite the beach.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The food: The breakfasts
weren't too bad at all, but the evening meals were terrible.
The soup tasted like just water. The Fish and Chips was the cheapest budget meal you can find, it was like it was reconstituted fish, not an actual real fish, grey in colour and rock hard.
Once there, we found the hotel the place had been used for housing asylum seekers 2 months beforehand and now in addition to accepting Shearings guests, also accommodates homeless people.
Although I have nothing against homeless people and sympathise with their plight, I don't think it is acceptable to have them staying in the same hotel as people who are paying a vast amount of money to stay.
They were very friendly, but also bringing in people with them that were not staying in the hotel, which was not a comfortable situation.
Also, the noise that was coming from some of the rooms kept us awake. They were playing football and loud music, which prevented us from getting a decent nights sleep.
I have never been on a Shearings holiday before and given this experience, I will be most unlikely to use them again.
