I ordered a 3 tone low profile jack for my car after just one use and a few weeks in my garage I went to use it again and there was a massive patch of oil under it. Emailed customer services through the website and they were absolutely amazing sent me the seals that needed replacing and no cost and next day shipping

Nothing to do with the work that this company provides however the old man in the little van should not be driving on the road, in and out of lanes on the motorway without even indicating going to get himself in a serious crash.

I recently purchased a compressor and a…

I recently purchased a compressor and a pack of air tools from SGS Engineering, and the entire experience has been nothing short of frustrating.

I attempted to cancel the order just 20 minutes after placing it, only to be told that cancellation wasn’t possible. Instead of a simple redirect back to them, I'm now expected to pay over £150 to return the item — an unreasonable cost that could’ve been easily avoided with a bit of flexibility on their part.

As for the products themselves, the air tools are severely underpowered. The air wrench couldn’t even loosen standard car lug nuts, even after switching to a larger hose. For tools marketed as professional-grade, this is completely unacceptable.

Between the poor customer service, rigid policies, and subpar product performance, I cannot recommend SGS Engineering to anyone. Unless you're specifically looking to be disappointed, I would strongly advise shopping elsewhere.

Excellent customer service

The speed that they work, There service dept and customer support is Highly recommended, A first class service. My strimmer had a few minor issues process from start to finish was superb Received a replacement strimmer within 24hrs of shipment, There 5 in 1 strimmer multi tools are robust and get the job done. Hi everyone

Hi everyone just wanted to write this review I ordered some tool storage/tool chest/benches from sgs last night they called me this morning to say they was delivering today if possible, Dave who delivered today was great nothing was to much for him helped unpack and even took the rubbish away with him couldn’t be happier with the service he and sgs gave me, so it’s a 5star from me and 5star for the great products that I have purchased in the past and also today. Great job all round ***** will definitely buy again cheers

products work but are cheaply made, and don’t expect much from customer service

I’m giving it 2 stars just because at least there has been some response, but the tone on the e-mails are not what you would expect from a proper customer service.

I bought 2 things from SGS, one was a tool box and the other a lawnmower. Beware that they are cheap products from china, with very poor quality control. The toolbox came with rust on it and the lawnmower came with unpainted parts and a torn grass bag.

They did offer to send a replacement, but honestly I don’t think it will make any difference. Also, I would have the trouble of dismantling and repackaging plus the anxiety of waiting for my refund or a new one ti be shipped, so I just didn’t want to risk it. No other option was provided. I’m sticking to it and just hope they last a reasonable amount of time to at least “pay for themselves”.

Definitely not buying anything else from them as for sure there will be some quality issue.

Don’t buy if you expect to receive a perfect product, or if you are like me and don’t want to risk suffering with returns and refunds.

No stars would be better

Unhelpful and unprofessional company. Wish I could give no stars. Don't purchase from them if you're a company or happen to be in a building that might be associated with a company. They will not accept any returns or exchanges from companies or individuals associated with a company. Didn't use the compressor and will definitely never recommend this company. Presumably if you are a remote worker based at home this makes you associated with a company and you’ll get no assistance from SGS if you need to return an item

The company is happy to take your money…

The company is happy to take your money and run. Customer service inept and could not find return/refusal delivery in their terms and conditions. Seems to make it up on the spot.
Beware they also do not check that billing addresses match delivery addresses and will blame Apple pay and “computer says”. ZERO customer service. Shop elsewhere which has reasonable returns policy. Read the fine print of what it will cost you to return an item. LUDICROUS.

Poor warranty claim experience

Shocking experience.
Bought a compressor and it arrived quickly. upon opening the box and setting this up I let the compressor run, which I found x2 pin holes in the bad seem weld. Got on the phone to SGS Engineering and I was apologised to and was told it would be sorted, can I proved a video? No problem this was emailed straight away.
So far not much of an issue, what is a pain is I have to wait until someone can collect this compressor at my expense then have someone inspect it then issue a refund once everyone has deemed my warranty claim acceptable. I was unable to get an exchange because this model had been sold out, and I wasn’t allowed to pay the extra for a more expensive model because of “warranty claim”.
Everything is now at a standstill because i can’t proceed with my job that’s stuck on the bench.

Terrible customer service!

Terrible customer service!
Purchased an air compressor 6 months ago. The first one was replaced instantly, the 2nd one has been used for a maximum of 2 hours in total. I contacted SGS as this comes with a 1 year warranty but they’re expecting me to pay to return it. As it’s a heavy item this is round £70 which i feel I shouldn’t have to pay as it’s under warranty. Terrible company I wouldn’t use again!

Mowing heaven!

So, about 10yrs ago I bought an SGS petrol strimmer (still going strong) because it was great value. Now needing a mower I looked online and settled on the SGS self propelled 46cm mower.
Wow! Easy assembly, started 1st pull and is just an awesome machine. Side discharge is a great idea, you have to pay a lot more for all the features on this one if you buy anywhere else.
Over the moon with how easy my mowing is now, thanks SGS.

Terrible delivery service and customer service

I am extremely disappointed with this company's service. The delivery times they advertise are completely misleading. I paid for expedited delivery, but my order arrived well after the time. This caused me to lose two full days of work, as I had to take time off to wait for the delivery. It’s clear that they don't take customer satisfaction seriously. I would strongly advise against using this company if you need a reliable and timely delivery. This will definitely be my first and last experience with them.

Bought in the delivery window for next…

Did not deliver next day as promised , do not have the facilities to deliver next day if its machinery and has cost my company thousands in stopped production because they can’t do as they promise despite ordering well in the delivery windows for next day delivery . Very bad and stay away . Machine also broke 3 days after they delivered in any event . So cheap china rubbish .

Ladies and gentleman if you would like…

Ladies and gentleman if you would like to buy a piece of metal ( drawers..?? Which don’t open..) then this is for you. Personally I like the drawers to open..
We tried to speak to the designers but they were pre occupied testing their new desired drink of choice in the distillery.

SGS Engineering have requested they do take it easy in the work shop before their next amazing design!
But let’s see what they have to say.. if they can speak.

We've reviewed our website and product descriptions, and nowhere do we state that the drawers are accessible with the lid closed. We believe the product has been advertised and sold according to its design specifications.

Well does it state the Drawers don’t open if the lid is closed?? Let’s wait and find out for a lovely response.
In the past I have bought other items which were great!
unfortunately like a lot of company’s they have resorted to cheap labour and some customer service members who need re training.

Awful quality, awful business

Nothing wrong with the business, but the amount of spam from them is outrageous. When trying ot unsubscribe, there is an option to receive just a single email peer week. Do not bother, it makes no difference. Still getting two or three emails per day. I tried to email them through their website which failed their 'captcha'. In the end I called them and they told me they would only send me a single email per week... This lasted for about 2 months and then back to 2 or 3 per per day. I have now reported them to the ICO. This is very poor. Also the products are not exactly good quality. Cheap knock off Chinese imports are what you will get.

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY, NOT ACCURATE INFO ON PRODUCTS AND VERY MISS LEADING

Bought a 'Silent' SGS small air compressor from SGS advertised as 49dB.

The product title, description and technical description all show 49dB. But the product arrived with a giant sticker on it saying 67dB! (Of course I had to open the box and unpack it to see that yellow sticker)

Bare in mind this isn't a third party compressor made by a different manufacturer. Its a SGS compressor made by SGS and sold by SGS, there is no excuse for getting technical info wrong.

I contacted support explaining this and requesting a refund, expressing its unfair that the description on the site does not match the product and that I would like to return for a full refund.

In response I got a pathetic excuse saying its 49dB if you're standing about 7 meters away from it. Based of that logic it's actually 0dB if you're 100 meters away from it.

When I expressed that I was mislead and that technical description clearly states 49dB which goes against consumer protection rights, I was instructed to return the item but that I will have to pay for the return and figure this out myself!? (But don't worry Tanya the ever so helpful customer service provided a parcel2go link so I can buy shipping. That's the equivalent to saying "Oh yeah theres a building called the post office", honestly useless customer service).

£20 delivery fee just to get it sent back to them. Who knows if they will actually refund me my money in full or not, but it's absolutely disgusting behaviour from SGS misleading customers and then charging them for the return when it's clearly SGS's fault. I would have never bought the item if the technical description was accurate.

To rub salt in the wound SGS has now updated the technical description on that product because they know they're in the wrong. Which I'm glad so others wont fall for this trap but wow what horrible customer service when the company is clearly in the wrong.

I will keep my review updated when I get my refund in full but I will never purchase from SGS ever again.

Garden multi tool. Waste of money.

Bought an SGS garden multitool about 4 or 5 years ago. Always had trouble starting it. Ran for about 4 or 5 hours the first year. That's all I could get out of it. The next year I had to replace all the fuel lines as they had rotted. Cleaned plug. New fuel. Nothing. Drained and cleaned. More new fuel. Started and ran for about 2 hours (coughing and spluttering occationally) then stalled. Thrown in shed. This year determined to give it one more chance had an email convo with help desk. Advised me to do all the things I had previously done again and check carb adjustments. Nothing. Bought a new carb from them (arrived without a gasket). Advised gasket net necessary if old one not damaged. Installed new gasket, replaced fuel and air lines whilst doing this job. Cleaned plug, flushed and filled with new fuel. Nothing. No starty.
Complete rubbish and a waste of money. Buy something else.

So the latest debacle with my ongoing…

So the latest debacle with my ongoing dispute with SGS is that they have now sent me pictures of a strimmer covered in grass and saying that this proves the strimmer I sent back because it would not start had been used,I would like to know how they can explain to me if a strimmer does not start how can it strim grass!!!,I also object to the fact they are basically accusing me of lying to them I say take a look in the mirror to see who is the liar here.

Needed a new gas strut for my Motorhome…

Needed a new gas strut for my Motorhome door and was shocked at the cost of the dometic spare so I tried SGS. Found them to be very very helpful and friendly lot to deal with and way cheaper than dometic.They made up struts to my measurements and delivered next day by fedex. Great firm!
