Shockingly Bad Quality and Customer Service
Shockingly Bad Quality and Customer Service!!!!! spend over £200 on a trolley jack, the release mechanism broke within about 10 times of using it. I was told i'd need to wait over a month for them to send out the replacement part, only to be told 6 weeks later I will need to wait another month so I have a jack that i can't use :-( the worst part is they are still selling the very same jack, so I know they could send me the part if they really valued their customers but they choose not to ... very poor i would not recommend buying anything from this company

SGS 52CC Petrol Strimmer.
SGS 52CC Petrol Strimmer.
I also have an engine lift crane from SGS which is a good robust piece of kit.
So on the basis of the engine crane I expected the SGS 52CC Petrol Strimmer to give a similar experience, unfortunately this is not the case and it has now been 'retired' for recycling.
The SGS 52CC Petrol Strimmer unfortunately arrived in an open box, it could not be determined how and why, or what was missing, so a full replacement was sent by SGS no problem.
First year 2018, all good, well pleased, though used less than six times.
Second year, would not start, Fuel Pipe Assembly GPS520 / GPBS520 / GPM501 perished. Parts ordered from SGS, took so long in delivery and many phone calls to chase. Parts eventually arrived after grass had stopped growing!
Third year, no problems though used less than six times.
Fourth year, again replaced perished fuel lines this time with non OEM parts and then notice fuel tank leaking slightly and that some machine bolts were missing/beginning to shake out. Same time experiencing more difficult to start and vibrations.
Fifth year, took opportunity to replace worn strimmer head, more difficult to start being noticed, kicking back.
Sixth and final year 2024, badly bruised wrist on starting, I decided to strip down machine to find cause
Found that the shaken out bolts had gone through the slots in the engine cowling and damaged/broken the fan blades and scoring shaft obviously leading to imbalance and causing the vibration. I have photos available of this but see no facility for them posting here.
Machine now sadly scrapped and I have now gone DeWalt 18 Volt battery, so much easier and safer I think.
My first and last time purchasing from SGS
My first and last time purchasing from SGS. I bought a 1" Milwaukee Impact wrench + spare battery £960. The reason I bought from them was that they offered next day delivery. I ordered it on the Thursday morning for delivery on Friday. The tool did not turn up on the Friday, so I checked the tracking and found out the delivery had been cancelled by SGS. So I called customer services and they appeared to be clueless as to why they cancelled the delivery. However, I was promised delivery on Monday. Monday came and went and again no delivery. So after a second call to customer services, who were still clueless, I was promised it on Tuesday. Needless to say it did not turn up on the Tuesday. It finally arrived on the Wednesday. However, I was out and the delivery driver left £960 of power tool outside my front door unattended and in full view of the road. Even more alarming was the delivery driver signed my name on the proof of delivery, which is fraudulent.
Strimmer broke down twice in first 4 uses and now SGS have lost my macine
I unfortunately purchased the petrol strimmer from SGS which is unreliable and the customer support woeful. As many others have reported on here there is a problem with the fuel supply pipes on these machine which causes them to split almost immediately upon use spilling fuel everywhere and ensuring the strimmer no longer works. I was luckier than most as mine didnt split until my second usage. However SGS did send replacement pipes which though tricky to fit did eventually resolve this problem.
However the 4th time I used the strimmer it simply cut out and wouldnt restart, again an apparently common theme reading reviews on here. I subsequently spent an entire week following customer services long list of checks and tests on the strimmer, including adjusting the carburetor, removing and refitting fuels pipes, sending them videos etc frankly things more suited to a mechanic than a man who just wants to strim his garden. Eventually they agreed it was broken and arranged for FedEx to collect, but not before warning me that I would be liable for all costs if it wasnt obviously a bad machine. I waited in all day for collection but no one showed. Eventually recontacted customer services who rearranged collection. I then waited nearly 2 weeks before contacting customer services again who said although they had received the strimmer over a week previously it hadn't been booked in yet by their goods inwards and they would contact me when it had. The following week, having heard nothing I again contacted them and they then admitted that though they had received it they had subsequently lost it! I contacted the CEO by email and have had no response from him but had an almost immediate reply from customer services saying they have magically located it and would now pass it o to their inspection department. I have heard nothing since and have now been without my strimmer for nearly a month. This company appears to produce shoddy products and treats their customers very badly.

The tool box was delivered on time but unfortunately the item was damaged in transit. Probably as it should have been a 2 man lift.
After contacting customer services the problem was resolved quick and efficiently the next day and replaced without any fuss.

After my sgs tool chest breaking, a few months later i was able to get in contact just via email and under warranty they sent me out a whole new bottom part of the box including the handle (the original faulty part).
Which were delivered very fast and in great packaging to stop any damage within my new lower box
Decent price on a lawnmower and good…
Decent price on a lawnmower and good communication on delivery. Shame about the packaging as one of the engine mounting bolts had popped off, (have pictures to prove). I didnt make an account and couldnt be bothered with endless phone calls and the like so will replace the bolt myself. Besides that all seems ok though havent tried to start it yet.
Poor website and costumer services
Very poor performance. I wouldn’t recommend to buy on this website. Very poor customer services. They have on their website photos/services which doesn’t match the parts which you buy. I’ve bought a gas strut for a Ford Mondeo MK5 . They have a picture matching my car although they part number is different although it says it fits for a Ford Mondeo MK5 for a tailgate/boot. Tried to return and costumer services says that I need to pay postage which I shouldn’t pay.

Absolutely disgusting customer service! I paid Friday r next day delivery and 3 days later and when it did arrive the box was battered and holed and nuts and bolts missing (such a bad experience) it turned up, I messaged them on numerous occasions but no reply, honestly just avoid this company and shop elsewhere! Don't say I haven't warned you!

Really helpful with delivering items to North East Scotland. Two other companies had just cancelled my orders when they saw my postcode, so they lost out. When the courier had trouble finding my address, the team at SGS took the trouble to contact them and sort things out.

Awful customer service
Awful customer service. Tries to blame customer for damage on a product that happened before I took receipt of the product. Agreed to refund the product but when I delivered it back they refused citing their policy to the letter. Courier removed damaged box packaging and I had to store on its end in my garage having no other space to put it so it got scratched on the end. Refused to give any money off or refund. I had to drive 90 minutes to get there. Disgusting! I will never use them again.

Sent out trolley jack that never worked…
Sent out trolley jack that never worked but spewed oil everywhere. Waited days then they collected that jack and sent replacement. It worked 8 months and today spewing oil. The quality of their products is very poor. I called their customer service and promised a call back as manager in meeting. This is usual bull-shi’t. Not in meeting just dont care. I strongly advise dont buy from these jokers.
