If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. SendFox is a double-opt in Nightmare: Paywalled, Primitive, and Not User Friendly.

I’ve owned this program deal for a couple of years, but using it for self-publishing has been a lesson in frustration to the millionth degree.

SendFox markets itself as 'minimalist,' but 'primitive' is more accurate. I imported my leads and the system managed to send exactly zero emails. Apparently, actually reaching your list is a premium feature. To bypass the 'double opt-in' nightmare that kills conversions, or unlock to disable the double-conformation, you’re forced to upgrade to the Empire Plan— despite my 'lifetime' license.

It’s not a creator tool; it’s a paywall with an identity crisis. The Smart Pages don't connect to the automations, meaning leads and money just vanish into a black hole.

Between the non-existent human support and an AI that seems to be on drugs, SendFox is a grand disappointment that fails to deliver on every promise. SendFox belongs in the trash.

I want my money back in full.

Do not Recommend. Just find another Tool

I purchased a lifetime license to Sendfox on Appsumo many years ago and never used it until this year when I got into self publishing.

I was aware that Sendfox was a minimalist, stripped down to only the essentials sort of email tool and I was okay with that.

I couldn't create email templates so that I don't have to start from scratch without upgrading to the Empire plan, weird but okay. However, the double optin issue was the last straw.

Suppose you use another tool for lead Gen, a tool that already does email confirmation (in my case it was bookfunnel) and you connect to Sendfox via API, despite the leads already consenting to joining your email list in exchange for the lead magnet, despite Book funnels own confirmation email sent to the lead (The second opt-in). Unless these leads/contacts/prospects click on the Sendfox confirmation email (the 3rd opt-in at this point) you WILL NOT be able to email them. Keeping in mind that at this stage the leads have already downloaded the lead magnet.

The only way to turn off double opt-in, is you guessed it... Upgrading to the empire plan. At this point you might as well just give that money to another tool that will give you full design functionality, opt-in configuration and full customization features.

Why bother with a tool that puts basic features behind a pay wall rather than creating value-add for customers that they can then monetize in the empire plan.

I've begun migrating to Mailerlite, because if I'm going to pay for a tool, I might as well get the full suite. Why should you pay for a stripped down tool just so you can disable double-optin and get the grand opportunity to email your own leads???

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. No bugs are solved. I cannot imagine an email marketing company where the reply of their customer service is directed by Google to the spam folder so that I discover it by coincidence and I see that the reply shows that he didn't bother to read my issue.

While the site initially worked how I wanted it to, when I go to delete the account, they burry it in a button you cannot press, then when you go to delete it, it says your credentials no longer work. Pretty shady, avoid anything that won’t let you leave.

Poor Customer Support

Yes, this service is cheap in comparison, but you get what you pay for. Customer support is less than helpful and simply answers any followup questions with the same canned responses from any previous messages. If you want a very rudimentary email service for a cheap price, might be fine for you. Just don't expect good customer support.

Poor Customer Service

I recently encountered a frustrating issue with my SendFox account (support request #1127044). When I tried to log in, I received a prompt instructing me to email support[at]sendfox.com with the subject "SendFox Account Settings."

I reached out for assistance almost three months ago, but unfortunately, I have yet to receive any response or help. While I find the SendFox product to be effective, the lack of timely support has left me disappointed and unable to access my account.

Until they improve their customer service response times, I cannot recommend SendFox.

An author is very glad

I am an author, so not rolling in marketing dollars. I switched from my not-affordable email service provider to SendFox yesterday. The process was smooth, and I was able to keep my welcome email sequences for both my email lists, at the $49 lifetime subscription rate. I am very glad that SendFox exists.

Awesome Little Gem!

I have had nothing but good things to say about send fox! After years of using the OTHERS I find that most people just want to send the occasional email and schedule them out. And with the RSS feed option, WHAT A STEAL OF A DEAL!
I recommend this to everyone, especially soloprenuers!!

Avoid this hidden scam

I purchased this thinking it looked like a good tool and good value for money. I used the tool ONCE and then they deactivated my account and ignored all my emails, taking the money with them.

I would go with a reputable company.

SendFox: A “cheap” email marketing platform that can end up costing you a lot

Yes, SendFox is cheaper than other email marketing platforms—but in the long run, it can end up being very expensive. Why? Because if a user unsubscribes, they cannot resubscribe. That’s it.

This means you’re losing potential customers and revenue simply because the platform won’t let people rejoin your list after unsubscribing. And here’s the worst part: when I contacted support, their response was absurd—“This is not a bug; this is how the system works.”

Excuse me? How can an email marketing platform not allow people to subscribe freely?

Not only does SendFox have a major design flaw, but their support team also tries to make you feel like you’re the problem when you bring it up. If you rely on email marketing for your business, think twice before using SendFox—it might cost you more than you think.

SendFox email complete trash

Signed up, paid for the extra $10 to be taken care of, and guess what - emails never went out. We emailed them 3x to ask what was going on after 2 days, what a waste, refund, and don't look back—disappointed with the entire experience. Only after signing up, you find out that your emails never get sent out. Still no response from support. - Avoid at all costs

Incredibly stressful to not have your emails send

I've been using Sendfox with no issue for almost a year, and have sent welcome emails to thousands of people and had about 2.5k people sign up to stay subscribed. Despite this, I go to send my first mass email and low and behold, instead of sending, it goes into 'warm up' mode where it runs a bunch of tests and doesn't send the email until it fulfills some mysterious stats that are unaccessible to me.

This is incredibly disappointing, and while I understand Sendfox 'does this to protect me', it's a really terrible experience and here's what I take issue with in particular:

1. There was no warning - if I'd known it would take days (or weeks? Who knows?) to 'warm up my account' to be ready to send an email, I would have acted weeks ago. Even before I clicked send, there was no 'heads up, this email will take days to send' warning.

2. There is no undo. I can't take back this send (despite it not being sent!) which is just insane. If I'm supposed to only send to people who have double-opted in THEN SAY THAT SOMEWHERE so I understand, and then let me cancel a mass send so I can just send it to those people.

3. Support is slow to respond, and offer no ways of speeding up the warming up process or an estimate of how long it will take to send.

4. There is no time estimate given, despite the chat helper AI on the side of the site telling me there should be an estimated time when I hover over the 'warming' up button. This has been removed at some point, which is also not a good sign. So because I can't undo this send, this time-sensitive promotion email my company relies on is essentially locked in limbo for an unknown amount of time. Well that's just great! :(
