It cost me about $300 a month more. And after I canceled, "it takes at least 30 days for it to be activated" - another $230 over. Buyer beware. (Customer service is great but can't do ANYTHING about... See more

Absolute Scam
This company is a scam top to bottom. Any company that promises you lower rates would never pay canvassing reps to come to your door. DON'T LET THEM IN, DON'T ANSWER THEIR CALLS, DONT SIGN UP. This is the single most poorly operated company I've ever dealt with. F*** this place!!!! Seriously, don't fall for their high-pressure sales tactic. Just do ONE google search before anything else and you'll see...
Terrible omg why did i chose this …
Terrible omg why did i chose this at the very first place. They’re doubling or tripling my bills omg soo terrible. Don’t chose them!! They don’t deserve any starts!!! And tge customer service is soo bad!!!
horrible business
Horrible business. My bill has tripled since I supposedly switched with them but I can't find any email from them anywhere. Don't know how I switched if I didn't agree to anything. They promise of a lower bill but instead increase it. If my bill was normal from PSE&G which it should have I would have paid a lot less. Recommend to remove them from your calling list.
Most giving company....
I went with Residents Energy ! I switched suppliers and my rate was lower
as well as my bill. I did receive the $25 gift card after 90 days (as stated)
and I received a nice gift card upon signing up !! This company even gives you a 5% KICK BACK from your last six months of bills. NO OTHER COMPANY HAS OFFERED THAT TO ME !!! Added up this savings in total is worth more than any other company out there !! Thank You....
As everyone else stated
As everyone else stated, they are a scam. All that things about gift cards/rebates are lies. Your rate will NOT decrease. They came knocking on my door and asking me to switch to them from Ameren. The agent told me that I am gonna get a gift card within the first month for $25, and a cash rebated after three months. Apparently the agent was "mis-informed." And Residents Energy will not do anything about it.
Be aware. Stay away from them.
Worst Company STAY AWAY
They send people knocking at your door and from the beginning it is shady. They promise a rate that is lower than your current energy supplier's rate and write it in a sheet of paper as a proof. No confirmation email nothing. They ask for your phone and call their representative and switch the companies. When you get your bill your bill will be higher than your previous supplier. You call them, the representatives act like they don't know a thing and take their time to file a complaint. No repercussions whatsoever. No responsibility and accountability. It will take 1-2 billing cycle for your supplier to switch when you cancel their service and they keep charging you that ridiculous amount. I would give negative ratings if I could. RESIDENTS ENERGY PLEASE DON'T SEND YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TO MY DOOR!

They were very precise and thorough I didn't get the feeling I was being ripped off. They have lower rates for energy so i signed up with them. They having a special promo so if you stay signed up for 90 days you get a 25.00 gift card. Also the representative gave me all her information directly .
HORRIBLE
These people came to my door and represented themselves as being from my electric company. They told me due to a new law i was being overcharged on my bill and asked to see my bill. Then informed me that where it says the supplier on the bill, that it should say residents energy and nothing else. I asked several times if they were trying to change my service, which i was assured no. Well come to find out this company is a great scam artist in whole. They will tell you whatever they think you want to hear in order for them to do what they came to do in the first place.SCAM
Filed multiple complaints being they changed my provider even though i kept saying no. And wouldnt you know it, a week later, yesterday to be exact they showed up at my door again. I just told them to leave and not come back, I mean considering there are big signs that say NO SOLICITORS. Bottom line these people cannot be trusted. dont even open your door to them.
I really love Residents everything the …
I really love Residents everything the representative told me that was going to happen on my bill did I got my $25 Visa Gift card on my 3rd billing cycle with them and then I later got my rebate check and I also was paying less then what I was paying with my other supplier
When the representative came to my …
When the representative came to my neighborhood she told all of us that after 90 days we would receive a $25.00 gift card and a $25.00 check. I spoke to a representative on the phone and she told me none of that was true! She said you get a rebate check every 6 months, but it's only 5% of your bill! I urge anyone thinking about using this company NOT TO USE THEM!!
Deception from the very beginning ! ! !
I asked the rep in the very beginning if he was trying to get me to switch energy suppliers, and he assured me that all my billing and other services will be supplied by my current company which is true, but they don't explain that the rate for your electric power will be controlled by them. Long story shortened, they did trick me into a supplier switch. Their tactics are devious, I'm going to cancel this process, and file a report to the better Business Bureau.
Residents Energy has been good to me
Residents Energy has been good to me. Their telephone rep. that called me was knowledgeable, honest, and thorough. And yes the Residents Energy representative did verify my ComEd acct. information. I didn't have to give them any info. They already had it!! And I signed up for a low rate of 8.5cent per kWh with Residents Energy for another year !!! And another thing you can not be switched from your Utility Co only your supplier changes and you can not be signed up without YOUR VERBAL CONSENT!!! You have to say YES...by the way everything is recorded. I have had some bad experiences with these energy suppliers. But Residents is tops in my book. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it is tedious trying to get in touch with them I called them Monday had a question didn't hear back til Thursday but at least they called back and answered my question.
Residence energy is a SCAM & FRAUD
They falsly represented comed to misled us to get comed account number, on d pretext of verifying account details. Then instead of giving the customer care number they provided some person representing residence energy 2244095640. We made several calls to identify which company are they from. After reading the reviews understood about this scam.
This company is a fraud
They misled me asking me for my Comed bill to verify some new updations.
Then they changed the vendor from comed to resident energy. Took authorisation from me stating that the authorization is for some new program of comed which will help me save environment.
Then I had to call 10 times to get this thing cancelled.
They r total frauds.please beware of them.
Residents Energy is a despicable company that scams
Residents Energy residentsenergy.com is a despicable company that scams people and steals money from them.
Their agent came and misrepresented herself as representative of my current energy provider PSEG and told that they to verify something, they looked into my PSEG account recorded some account numbers and then started to say that we overpay for the energy and they offer price four times, I refused the deal and asked her to leave.
Sadly for me in upcoming weeks I found that we completed the switch without my explicit authorization and started to change 14 cents per KW instead of 11.60 cents per KW I was paying before.
These sales tactics are deceiving and not acceptable, they steal money from the customers, and I would participate in class action suit and fully prosecute the company with all possible means.
Residents Energy MUST BE STOPPED!
