It cost me about $300 a month more. And after I canceled, "it takes at least 30 days for it to be activated" - another $230 over. Buyer beware. (Customer service is great but can't do ANYTHING about... See more

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!!!
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!!!! My electric bill this month was 50% higher than prior year same time per kWh used!!! I went to investigate and compare my prior bills and found out that Residents Energy switched my bill from Con Edison last June 2019 without my knowledge. They provided me with a fake “authorization “ form that had a wrong apartment number and a fraudulent signature. I never even knew my electric account number until recently, yet they claimed that I gave it to their rep Brandon Covial somewhere on the streets of New York City!!! This is a scam and you need to file a complaint with the NY State Public Service Commission, if this happens to you! There should be a class action lawsuit filed against them.
Complete scam!!
Complete scam!!! Once I find out who the “sales person” pretending to be my electric provider was I am 1000% pressing charges! They pretended to be my power company and said they needed to collect info to get rid of the “summer rates”, he even had a fake Delmarva power badge. I just looked at my bill and see that I am signed up for a service I never authorized. I will cut my electricity off today if I am not refunded. Shady company, if a person comes to your door pretending to be your provider just call them first and turn the person away. I cannot wait to take full action on this sucker as soon as the phone lines open.
Has anyone out there attempted to…
Has anyone out there attempted to redeem their RE debit card. I have spent a good 20 minutes at the web site they list trying to figure out how to redeem my card. I have looked at dozens of sites and NONE even mention redeeming your card. Any company so stupid as to have a redemption program web site so badly designed is not worth having as an energy supplier.
Pieces of trash came to my door saying…
These pieces of trash came to my door saying they were my original provider and I was changing to a newer power plan that would save me money. They signed me up for their service. Now I'm having to cancel. This is a scam.
Thieves!!!
Liars overcharge me every month they promise a rate of 0.09 per kilowatt and i got 0.19670... thieves!!!
They are a scamming company
They are a scamming company, they violated both the state and federal no call list by contacting me. I have had the same phone number for over 5 years, and I have been on both the Missouri and the national no call list for all of that time.
I did not fall for their sales pitch, but they are unscrupulous, And should be avoided at all costs.
Beware of companies that violate the law, if you deal with them you will get what you deserve.
Just SCAM
Just SCAM, DON'T TRUST OR BELIEVE IN THIS SH...T OF RESIDENTS ENERGY
Horrible company
Horrible company! I would give it negative stars if I could! I was told it was a program by con-ed to support renewable energy! The solicitor said it was totally free! Didn't know I would be doubling my electric bill! Someone should sue them!!!!
Outrageous renewal rates
Per MA law the provider is supposed to send a renewal letter with the new rate. Residents ENERGY did not do so, and additionally their default renewal rate is 60% higher than the utilities own rate. This is an outrageous practice and a complaint raised with the MA AG office.

Somehow got my number and WILL NOT STOP CALLING.
Crap bill is higher when told it would not change
Crap. I ran into someone on street. They told me it would not change my rate. That it was a rebate program only. (I got scammed before and wanted to make sure). I noticed my bill being unusually high but i thought it was the ac from the summer. Now it is fall so i just pulled up an old bill and my rates went up a lot. Also when they send the rebate you have to go online and enter a code with in 60 days. What they offer back is way less then what your bill goes up. You lose more money than just keeping original service. Calling and canceling. Also would not let me redeem more than one reward. Rediculous.
Scam
Scam. They came up to your home and pretended to be the agent of National Grid. They were saying the electronic meter will be restarted and need to confirm my billing information. Luckily, I did not provide my security information and took a picture of the so-called Agent's badge. Immediately after they are gone, I called National Grid for confirmation, was told they are not working for them and helped me to block anyone transferring my account to other services.
Suggestions. 1. Don't open the door for them. 1. If you opened the door, be careful. They are very rude. 2. Call the National Grid custom service. 3. Keep an eye on your upcoming bill.
SCAM of a company charged me for a service I never signed up for
I never even heard of this company before receiving a $264.16 charge from them (literally triple the $90.87 worth of electricity that I used) on my PSEG bill this month. They somehow signed me up for their service without even getting my permission. And the contact number that they provide is invalid. This is as blatant a SCAM as you’re ever going to see. PSEG and other public utilities should immediately sever ties with them.
Scam
They told me that I would receive paperwork to fill out and mail to National Grid if I decided to switch to them from my previous supplier. I received the paperwork and they were way more expensive than my current supplier so I didnt fill the out the paperwork and send it to National Grid to say I was giving permission to change suppliers. I noticed on my next bill I got switched to them without my permission. Both National Grid and Residents scam people. I am not stupid. Needless to say the people I called at both companies probably quit when I was done yelling at them. This is unacceptable.
I checked all these reviews and in the…
I checked all these reviews and in the end made me nervous after I enrolled in their program. They were friendly and explained any questions I had... But I was still skeptical I mean most of these door to doors are scams and I've been scammed before. I took a chance and was surprised. My bill lowered by like 150 bucks I researched the site a bit to see if it would go up or change cause this was great but I didn't know how my next bill would be and so far been saving me money I'm super happy that they were genuine. Otherwise I'd be canceling and dealing with my high bills out here in Chicago..
I wish I could give 0 stars
I wish I could give 0 stars. Not only are they very pushy when they come to your door, I was offered a 25 dollar gift card for switching, that only had $5.23 on it when it arrived. I will be trying to switch back to my old supplier, should have sniffed the scam but like I said, they corner you.
awesome service!
I received mastercard and led lights that helped me save money.
Called our home
Called our home. Convinced my husband with Alzheimer's to give them our billing information. I am the account holder and they went ahead anyway and changed our service provider. It required a lengthy phone conversation to reverse this situation.
They claimed since he had access to the billing and account information I had, in essence, authorized the change.
Stay away, far away, from such an unethical, immoral business.
Came to my apartment forcibly
Came to my apartment, forced his way into my home, scoped the place out like he was coming back later, called ComEd to get my info, and other his second phone he was making a call to someone named Jaquan (probably one of his hit buddies) and kept the comed call on mute so I would give them my info, I politely asked him to leave and he got all uppity.
I would not even give this company 1…
I would not even give this company 1 star if I didn't have to. This company has been told to stay off of the property I manage several times and yet continues to send their employees here. Yesterday one of thier employees PHYSICALLY ATTACKED me for making them leave my property. She was arrested for Aggravated assualt and criminal trespass to property. This person stated she was a manager with the company. This company will hire anyone and obviously does not care about the safety of their company. They do not check in at the office like the law states. They do whatever they want. This is a complete scam and you should not give them your information.
