£19.95 month subscription without telling

The delivery of a present for a 21st was quick and painless. All so i thought. When my bank statement came through, it appeared over then next 2 months I was charged £19.95 each month for a subscription. This subscription would be ok if I got any benefits from it like free delivery, complementary gifts and emails with offers but I get nothing. Truely Red Save is a scam! I am fighting to get my money back with them- so far no one has picked up the phones but I'm not going to let it lie! I am a student and £40 out of pocket is a substancial amount that I'm going to get back!

Do not use this company !! you have been warned, you will regret it, they have not sent my item nor have they refunded my money. Ive wasted so much time fighting to get my refund or the item ! they say they have refunded but it is not in my bank 4 weeks later !

I give them no stars but 1 is the minimum you can put, please do not use this company you will regret it when you waste all your time trying to get your goods. They are quick enough to take the money out of the bank!

Is it a scam?

I bought a spider catcher from them for about £6 – it was the cheapest on the net. I now feel like the fly who’s been caught in the spider’s web!

OK it was my own fault – I either didn’t read the email properly or forgot to cancel the ‘membership’ – busy life, distracted, whatever. Four months later I discover that I have been charged monthly lots of £19.95, so the plastic spider catcher has cost me a small fortune.

Is it a scam? Of course not as this scheme is totally legal – not sure it’s above board though as it would appear that they rely on people forgetting to cancel the membership to make their money. Can you think of many people who spend £19.95 a month to make savings of a few pennies on gadgets?
If you think a company like this should be encouraged then go ahead and buy from them, but I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

Appauling !

This company processed my order - and took my money; without even having the required product in stock ! It was only due to me chasing the company as to the wherabouts of my order - that I was finally advised, the item couldn't be sent. It then took me weeks to get my refund sorted - numerous emails later; my account wasn't recredited, they sent a cheque instead.

Stay Away

I ordered an item in November to be delivered abroad and thought I'd avoided the problems because I'd noticed and immediately cancelled the sneaky subscription. How wrong I was.

After a week where the status of my order was still 'Processing' I emailed to ask where it was. I received a reply a few days later telling me they were awaiting the extra postage payment before they could complete the order (they'd already managed to take the payment for the item though of course..) They told me I needed to send my card details via email for delivery abroad. I didn't like the sound of that, and having wasted enough time and effort I cancelled the order and bought it hassle-free from Amazon instead.
A month on and I still hadn't received my refund and was told I could expect it in the next few days. It is now yet another month and countless emails later and I still haven't got my money back. I am now looking at legal options.

No real problems, But cancel subscription

I ordered an Electric scooter from Redsave.
Then read the details about the £19.95 free subscription, fortunately I managed to go through the rigmarole of cancelling it.
I can see that if your not careful you can be paying for this subscription for a long time which is naughty.
However I was worried about my order as I have been scammed before by save4today.com.
I got emails from Redsave saying that it had been processed and despatched, this was 2 days after I placed the order, when the actual delivery times were 3- 10 days.
My wife missed the delivery by DHL and we had a card posted.
I have now collected it, and I'm impressed with the scooter and the overall process with no problems at all.

Basically if you don't want to keep the subscription. Cancel it.

Thanks Redsave

Do not use!!

Ordered items, received email to say they were damaged in cargo so they couldn't supply, asked for refund and cancellation of membership, was sent a cheque rather than refund back to my card, cheque eventually arrived made payable to Mr, I'm female and bank wouldn't accept. Still waiting to get this resolved since 11th October. No customer service at all I have had to repeatedly contact them and not got anywhere for my trouble. Items I purchased that they said they couldn't provide continued to show as available on their site.

Surely Fraud

I bought the momento-live digital photoframe at £70. They make you pay £20 a month to use the website for a start. The same frame can be purchased at £13 but I opted for the wifi version that can be updated via momentolive.com. It wasn't until I received the frame from redsave that I realised momentolive.com shut down about 15 months ago! So the frame is no more use than the £13 frame. When I returned the product they sent me another one instead of a refund.. but that doesn't work either! 2 weeks later, 2 trips to the post office later and I am still waiting for a refund and they are still selling the product on the website, advertising that you can use the momento-live service. Unbelievable!

Would Not Purchase Again because of Discount Club Membership, read below.

I will most certainly NOT use RedSave again.

Ordered an £8 lamp and must have gone through the checkout at the usual pace I would do when purchasing other goods. Never realised that as well as purchasing the lamp the website by default selects that you wish to subscribe to their discount club. In other words, you don't have to manually make any alterations to the basket if you wish to purchase this product.

Therefore, I checked my credit card statement today to find three payments of £19.95 debited for something I haven't made use of and had desire to have.

I personally think that the lack of a very clear indication of the subscription being added by way of an additonal window or interim screen and the reference to the product being 'free' (except with a line about it being £19.95 after 30 days) as not very helpful, to say the least.

No refunds were offered when I explained my error, even if you are willing to purchase the original product at full price. But you are offered vouchers instead. Yet upon further enquiry it is clear this is not as a refund, but simply a reaffirmation of the benefits you HAVE already purchased under the subsciption, or so it seems.

I would not have purchased from Redsave if I'd have known this was how the service operated.

No Problems

I have noticed people complaining about the rip off £19.95 per month membership, which i agree is very steep for the products, but as a new customer, i get 30 days free, at which i can cancel during that time.
It is very plain to see, so why anyone would get caught out, i don't know.
I ordered the topsy turvey upside down tomato planter at £2.99, which sells in shops like homebase for £9.99.
For the price, including £3.96 p&p, i also received 100 (ok 75) free tomato seeds, plus a security alarm for the house/shed/windows. (4 in the pack).
I ordered the goods on Wednesday, and they arrived today (Friday).
I shall order a couple more topsy turveys, and then cancel my membership before the 30 days.

Don't buy from this company

This company very cleverly con people into allowing them to take 19.95 per month as a 'membership subscription'. Don't touch them with a bargepole!
