Incompetent, rude employees
Stop hiring incompetent, rude people to answer calls or at the very least train them better before putting them on the floor. I've been fed false information too many times to count, leading to hours and days of wasted time that ultimately led to losses. I lost count how many times I got hung up on by the rude employees. This is how they clients of 30+ years of patronage. No thanks.

Extremely frustrated with the phone Visa customer service. The representative was misleading, refused to accept my identity verification via debit card, and ultimately locked my accounts without solving the issue. I’ve been a loyal customer, but this level of incompetence is unacceptable. Now I have more trouble than I started with."

With RBC for 42 years, they nearly lost me as a customer
I have banked with RBC for 42 years in 4 countries. I have had a positive experience with this Bank 95% of the time.
2 weeks ago I went to the branch at Park Royal and met a Banking officer. I had a specific request and gave the bank one week to respond. Did they respond? No. I called the customer service line and I spent 55 minutes on hold. That agent promise within a half hour the same Banker would get back to me. Did she get back to me? No.
By now I was completely angry and I went to the branch and I met the most capable teller I know, Hourivash. With some profanity added, I told her I'm about to close my accounts with RBC for good. This lady quickly called the right people. They listened and apologized.
A few days later my problem was resolved with a new financing package. I am happy with that outcome and I must thank Miss Hoda and Shahla who resolved my issue. They did a good job and addressed my concerns.
I have opened an account with RBC…
I have opened an account with RBC online. They asked me to go to the nearby branch and show my ID. I went to the 8135 Wyandotte branch, they checked my ID and removed the restrictions. Then, I provided the Direct Deposit info to my Employer so my pay goes to RBC account. On the day I get payed, I checked my account, there was nothing, I thought it was a new account so it may takes a little longer, waited to next day, there was nothing in my account , went to the branch informed me they have no further information. I contacted online advisor and informed me that there is a restriction on my new account and asked me to go to the branch to show my Id. I have informed him that I have done that already , and the branch employees have no clue for such restrictions. However, I went to the branch and informed me that all restrictions have been removed. This is the worst banking experience ever. Customers services is terrible, very disappointed so called one of the biggest bank in Canada.

Trustpilot is absolutely garbage
Trustpilot is absolutely garbage. You cannot even get through to someone to talk to even after Trustpilot says it will put you through to an associate and then it says goodbye and hangs up. Great service; Not.
Every single interaction with Rbc is terrible
Every single interaction with Royal Bank of Canada has been an absolute disappointment. The level of customer service is unacceptable - staff are consistently rude, dismissive, and act with a sense of entitlement that has no place in a customer-facing role.
I was interrupted while trying to explain my issue, told “can I finish?”, and then had the call ended before I could even speak. That alone says everything about how little respect they have for their clients.
On top of that, I received zero real help in resolving the issue with my Visa. MY MONEY. There is no accountability, no urgency, and no basic professionalism.
At this point, it there are deeper issues within the organization—it’s poor hiring practices or lack of proper training, something is clearly broken.
I will be switching banks immediately. The contrast in service with institutions like CIBC and Scotiabank is night and day, based on repeated feedback from others.
This is not the standard Canadians should be dealing with. RBC needs a serious overhaul.
Cant redeem online my points
Cant redeem online my points, they are not able to slove issues for 7 years, when call on phone took me 2 hours since first time I called they hunged up after almost everything was done.
Royal Bank of Canada has perfected the…
Royal Bank of Canada has perfected the art of charging you monthly for the privilege of being ignored.
After 25 years as a customer and 6+ years running a business account, the grand finale was getting called “buddy” by support while they quietly collect their $8/month like a subscription to disappointment.
Zero interest, minimal service, and a tone that makes you feel like you’re interrupting their day by being a paying customer. Impressive.
If your business model is fees + indifference, congratulations, it’s working. I’ve moved my business elsewhere.
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO RBC
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO RBC. I tried to cancel my google workspace as i'm retired now. i tried to cancel and then a company called Xpendy(3rd party) tried to charge me $18.00 for a cancellation letter. i never agreed to that and RBC flagged them i called RBC and HAD them CANCELL THE CHARGE AND BLOCK MY CARD. I then got a message from Xpendy saying they couldn't put the charge through giving me some song and dance that the cancellation would take days what a lot of nonsence. it was cancelled through google workspace and they just wanted to scam me as a 3rd partys scammer thank you RBC for spotting that scam Kudos to RBC
Online Investing help is non-existent
Their baking is good. We have no issues, but their help on online investing is atrocious. No ability to solve a problem even when they create it. I refuse to give online investing any more money.
I had to file a claim with my rbc visa…
I had to file a claim with my rbc visa debit cause someone stole 6000cad dollars and when I filed the claim I was never told that I only had 10 days to send all the information needed this was in December and I was told the investigation would take 3 months I kept reaching out by email to the dispute department and never had one email response or phone call than I went to my main branch on April 16 spoke with the same person that I spoke with in December at the branch they called the dispute department and I was told that my file was closed and was told to file again which i did than I called today April 25 to speak with the dispute department on the phone and they kept me on hold for a long while and then I was told that I cant make another claim I was never told in the first place I only had 10 days to give all the info I was told since I was going on vacation at the time that they wouldn't start my claim until I was back so I was mislead 2 times I am not happy now I was told to go through the better business bureau
Royal Bank takes several days to post…
Royal Bank takes several days to post payments and even though they receive the payments before the due dates, they still charge interest because they take so long to post the payment. Interest is charged from the due date until the posted date. It seems that they intentionally delay posting the payments so that they can charge interest. In the meantime they have the money and are benefitting from it both in its use and in the interest they will charge on it. This is not a one time event, they have been doing this every month for years.
My Dads dead and this is how I get treated.
Worst experience if my life with the manager at the Stockdale branch in North Bay Ontario. I lost my Dad in February. She will not waive pobate for 668.25. Power tripping much? Here I am overwhelmed already, but let's make this only child figure it out while she's extremely stressed. MANAGER AT RBC STOCKDALE in NORTH BAY. You dont know what people are going through or have gone through. Stop acting like you own the bank. Trust me, you can be replaced. 🫢 I am ashamed that my father even dealt with you guys. Disgusting behaviour, have the life you deserve.

I had a very bad experience at RBC FV branch. I was told my card was expired. I told the staff I have online banking. They don't accept. I told them I had all ID in my cell phone, they didn't accept. Too much frustrated.
Customer service reps aren't there to help
Customer service reps have proven time after time they are not in the service business but rather adding as much red tape to any situation as possible. The wait times to speak to someone has been come abhorrent. I wish i could resolve these issues online but this is often not possible thus leading to required conversations with reps via phone who ultimately say there is nothing they can do but to call back and try again later. RBC appears to support the "Annoyance Economy"
