I like how it seemlessly interfaces…
I like how it seemlessly interfaces with all my financial accounts ... but with one exception. The exception is whole life insurance. I have Quicken accounts for the policies which I periodically update with cash values. That works fine, but there is no place to store death benefits. Cash values reflect current asset values; death benefits would reflect estate values. How about, Quicken, you add another asset type: life insurance?

Don't like the adds that can't be readably deleted. Don't like the strong arm tactics to renew. I will be looking for a new product in the future.

Have issues at times getting bank activity updates to download to quicken. Everything will be working just fine then there is a quicken update and then downloading does not work for awhile.
Less for More
I had used Quicken for twenty years on the Windows platform, and it was a good product. There were some account synchronization issues but otherwise it worked well and had some planning tools.
The Macintosh version has problems with synchronization, less functionality, and a clumsy interface. And pretty much requires a subscription now.
Not as functional as quickbooks
Business purchases sometimes show up on my personal after filtering which is annoying.
There's no true reconcile function, just matching transactions. And when trying to do so on two windows, the dollar amount won't show up (can't remove items from view).
Self paying shows up as a transfer and won't count as income, it must be setup as a paycheck but you're paying yourself.
Some charges show up twice in the spending plan (has to be manually matched to the bill).
Overall some kinks and interface that could make user experience easier.

I have used Quicken for several years & I like the fact that is relatively easy to use for a non-techy person!
I've used Quicken for decades
I've used Quicken for decades. Only problems currently are checking account reconciliations.
I only use Quicken offline
I only use Quicken offline, I don't use any of the online services. Some of the communications from Quicken
assume that everyone is using the online services. Quicken is a good solid tool for tracking accounts.
I have been using Quicken for decades
I have been using Quicken for decades. I appreciate details in general and Quicken does well in dealing with those. Whether it be day-to-day expenses, budgets or investing, Quicken let's me monitor and plan (mostly) easily and efficiently. That said, there is a learning curve for taking advantage of the many features, but it's very doable and reasonable, considering all that Quicken offers.
System is slow even on new computer
System is slow even on new computer. System lacks manual adjustability. I’m unable to adjust mortgage balance manually creating mismatches in balances from one-off payments. It’s often easier to delete an account and read it than it is to reconcile entries.
Good service

I use Quicken instead of a checkbook register. It works fine. I've used it for years and it's easy enough.
Benefits
1. The flexibility to modify data entry to fit transactions you want to track (e.g. checks written from accounts).
2. The history of stock transactions that are stored.
3. The ease of downloading stock transactions directly from broker sites

Review - current state of Quicken
Some of the text appears small on my new laptop and doesn't scale. I'm told this can happen with older apps, but I pay over $100 each year to have an updated app. Price is getting out of hand as well.
