Well equipped and managed with outstanding personal trainers
I've been a member of this gym for about a year, using it whenever I'm in London, and I must say it's truly a top-notch facility. Not only is the gym extremely well-equipped with a wide range of modern fitness tools and machines, but it's also impeccably managed by Anthony, whose friendliness and personable approach make every visit enjoyable.
What sets this gym apart for me, however, is my personal trainer, Panni. He brings a rare combination of infectious energy, focused personal attention, empathy, and utmost professionalism to every session. His extensive knowledge and commitment to his craft are truly remarkable, making him the best trainer one could wish for. If you're looking for a gym that offers not just great equipment but also exceptional personal training, this is the place to be!

It's so much better than my uni gym. I would have preferred if the camden gym did yoga though.

Terrible impression
My first day going to the gym… going up the stairs there was a homeless person laying on the stairs, doing his drugs and getting ready to sleep. I turned around and came back home - really thinking about cancelling my subscription. Terrible first impression.

I like the large number of dumbbells…
I like the large number of dumbbells that are offered and the wide varieties of machines. However, the machines are very close together and you sometimes have to get in someone's personal space just to get to the machine you want. The bathrooms are often disgusting with toilet paper all over the bathroom, no soap available and trashcans overflowing. I would really love it if the gym offered a punching bag, even just a standing punching bag would be great. I love to box and I often see people sparring at the gym and I think it would be a great addition to the gym.

Equipment not been repaired and tissue…
Equipment not been repaired and tissue everywhere in the evening.
Typical reply from the marketing team. They ask you to tell staff on site and staff replied the management has been informed. This response is wasting time. I will quit and join other gym instead. It is not worth it.

PureGym are SO slow at fixing and replacing stuff
There is always at least one machine broken or not working - e.g stair machine broken for about 3 weeks. The drink machine was broken for over 1 month which is obviously annoying as I pay extra to use it. The scales to weigh yourself are broken too. The toilets are 🥴
Pure really need to be SO much faster fixing and replacing things.
Bright side - good equipment and the staff are 10/10 - big love to them all

The gym in Camden (London)
The Puregym in Camden (London), it's small, the equipment is ok. the showers and changing room is to small and get's cramped, at peak times. the toilets are tiny and dirty. the staff are quite and keep to themselves, but they are friendly.

Lack of maintenance
I've been a puregym member for many years, I had a plus membership, so I can compare to other gyms, and now I'm based in Camden with a simple membership. This gym could be much better with some maintenance. I've seen one of the stairs climbing machine broken for months, leaving only one. Today I tried 3 treadmills before I found one that worked properly. One wouldn't start the running belt despite the screen working properly, one had faulty controllers, so speed and incline could be only managed through the screen, and so on. One of the bicycles had no pedal. It's such a nice and big space, it's a shame the maintenance is so poor.
Edit 3/10/23: Over 1 month after writing this, the stairs machine is still out of service. And the only one left, is always occupied. Please, replace the other machine

Friendly employees
Friendly employees, and organized atmosphere, but lack of welcome to members, lack of effective wipes and ineffective cleaning station. Weights and equipment a little bit disorganized in terms of equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbell plates. Also certain open areas had too much equipment in the space and certain attachments such as the barbell insertion was too close to the dumbell rack, along with an air bike being right next to the dumbbells.

Gyms too hot. No AC. Smell.
Whilst the gyms have good equipment, they never turn AC on. It’s their policy. It means the gym is so hot in summer and smells awful. This is a company-wide policy. Also customer service centrally is absolutely awful. I think they may be bots!

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers.
