The computer says no ......
Took out an annual Travel insurance policy (with pre-existing health condition) costing nearly £700. Immediately noticed a typo error (my month of birth). Contacted them immediately in order to correct it, to be told it would cost £30 to change date. While I understand they have standard terms & conditions, enforcing a rigid £30 penalty for a genuine, typo - especially on the back of such a costly premium- I felt was disproportionate and unacceptable customer service. I requested a refund.

When details provided during the quotation process are changed, such as your date of birth, the premium may be recalculated to reflect the updated information. In some cases, this can result in an additional premium being payable. We appreciate that, where the change relates to what you believed was a simple typing error, this can be frustrating.
