Have used Protek for a number of years and always found them a pleasure to deal with.

My business use Protek Warranty for all of our new builds, their service is never anything other than fantastic. Felicity Saunders in the Customer Service Team always goes above and beyond to make sure the Completion Cover Notes are sent out on time avoiding any stress from our end.

I used Protect for site insurance for my extension building project. I didn't know about this type of insurance until I visited BuildIt Live in Banbury.

Although I didn't need to use the insurance, I had peace of mind that if anything went wrong I had my own insurance in place.

I found the customer services team excellent. They were very helpful in helping me with building terms for the insurance proposal. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

Protek reminded me that my insurance was due to expire and to extend it if required.

I am delighted that I used Protek to give me peace of mind.

I have taken out site insurance. They are slightly more expensive than competitors but worth it to actually talk to a person and ask questions. Pleasant, helpful, patient.
I have given 4 rather than 5 stars as I have no experience of the claims process.

From start to finish the level of service across the company was excellent. Speed of service, excellent communication and extremely efficient service from their associated partners too. I would highly recommend Protek and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

OMG, if this review stops just one person from using this company then I will have done my job. I entered into an arrangement with my local authority building control who sold me the 'partnership' with Protek. All very straightforward I was told, just one site visit needed at each stage by building control and this would also cover the warranty side. Throughout the build I had virtually no correspondence from Protek, so I assumed that everything was in hand. How wrong could I have been. My new build got signed off and I contacted Protek for the warranty. Only then did I receive their long lists of 'defects', mostly a cut and paste job and often not even relevant to my build. Each time these were cleared a new list was of 'defects' was added. It took nearly 4 more months from sign off to finally get the warranty. Please, please avoid as this added stress is definitely not needed at the end of a build.

Nicola was really easy to speak with, professional and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much hassle and her advice was really valued.

I have used Protek as the provider for a 10 year warranty for a large and complicated build. The experience has been extremely positive although i am new to it all, i was advised and talked through each part of the process and have just received my warranty.
Two individuals stood out in the process they were Gemma Evans & Nicola Collins both ladies responded quickly to queries and offered remedies where appropriate. House building is a stressful time especially throughout the pandemic but Protek were supportive and resourceful. Thank you

I contacted Protek about a retrospective new-build warranty after the company I originally had a warranty with went bankrupt. After the initial survey, they provided me with a fairly extensive list of defects to resolve, which was frustrating but not unjustified – both the builders I contracted to resolve the defects and an independent surveyor agreed that the items needed rectifying. The resolution process itself took a long time, but I had clear and prompt communication with Protek throughout, and once the defects had been resolved, the certificate was issued the next day.

I searched, ad nauseum, for site insurance for my new build. I am a rookie and wanted to talk to a REAL person but most companies insisted I complete online. Protek was recommended in a Fb self build group and so I rang them. Fast, efficient, sensible questions and informative, pragmatic service....great price too....Sam was very helpful in explaining everything in simple terms - he gave me a quote over the phone!

If you need a 10 year warranty for a new build house can I recommend you DO NOT use Protek
Most people who build a house build maybe one of two in their lives and have a lot of things to check out and resolve. One headache you do not need is dealing with Protek who were difficult to contact and then asked for information after the event e.g. after inspected and approved by building control, and kept asking for more and more information which dragged on for weeks at each sign off stage. This caused significant delays in the mortgage company releasing funds and if I had not had some cash reserves the job would have stopped as I would have been unable to pay the builder
At the start I considered Consultant Engineers certification and their professional indemnity insurance and an independent warranty. The warranty with Protek seemed the better solution, how wrong could I be, there were 2 issues that Protek would not sign off as satisfactory, one was at DPM stage and one was weep holes above a cavity tray. With both issues I checked with various professionals and all were ok with what was done, ultimately I had to get a Consultant to indemnify me / Protek before they would sign them off that stage which cost me an additional £500!
If I ever build a new house again I will not be using Protek for the build insurance or warranty

Avoid these at all cost, inefficient total joke, took them three years to get in touch with me about a defect that was cancelled out. Would not issue certificate even though it was their fault.

I thought I would write a review due to my friends about to do a self build and were going to use this company. I just hope they haven't gone too far through the process to back out.
I worked for a company a while ago, who unfortunately used Protek. They were nothing but problems and I will never forget the name!!! It would appear they know nothing about building and question EVERYTHING despite them being signed off by the relevant people/ building control. They take a VERY long time to actually issue the warranty certificate, unlike other warranty companies who can issue them on the day everything has been signed off by building control or whoever necessary.
anyone giving them full stars I am going to assume was paid to do so.
If you are doing a self build, which is already stressful enough, don't add the stress of clowns holding EVERYTHING up!
There are other companies out there, this is not the one for you.....unless you like relying on snails.
They might be cheap but believe me there is a reason for it!
If even one person reads this and decides not to use them then I feel it was worth writing. I hope this is of use.

The service Protek provides comes with a massive flaw. They will not commit to provding a new warrantry for the house you are trying to sell any sooner than 10 days from when the last piece of information comes in. This 10 days is also extended to any new defects they can create based on what they see in the buildng control report. Essentaily this renders you unable to give certian dates to your customers who need fixed dates. This at best adds 10 days delay to your completeion or maybe more. They simply fail to understand the significance they play in getting the house sold. Every trade and even building control are able to pull through on time when required... but unfortunely not Protek. Our company will not be using them again and I will be offering the same advice to any developers in need of waranties for their homes.

i felt compelled to write a review about the staff at protek warranty group who give insurance warranties on new build houses, having just completed a new build we had a cash buyer within a couple of weeks, their solictors were persistent in asking various questions and wanted to know details about warranties on house to our our solictor who forwarded to us all the requirements needed that they requested before purchasing, which meant several emails and phone calls to the customer service team at protek, having dealt with them before i was confident that they would deal with our request promptly, however even i was so surprised with the speed and professionalism of the staff, who not only were attentive but gave me advice and support and were a calming influence,they were always polite and so very very helpful, so i just wanted to say a big thanks to gemma evans and vicky reid and stan who were absolute stars, and protek are very lucky to have them representing the company, kind regards peter naylor benchmark construction devon limited

Avoid like the plague this is one of the worst companies of ever dealt with in my life I've been a Developer for 10 years and have never come across such a shower like this lot, They ignore you, To the point of 6 or 7 e-mails 5 or 6 voicemails, And never came back to me, I had inspectors the visited site I said no problems and then came back with 5 or 6 defects 2 months later, When trying to resolve so called defects, it would take weeks to get a response that just ignore what your saying, They make everything as difficult as possible, They provide Little to no technical help, Inspections that were book in with plenty of time with the no show of an inspector, They did Stage inspections and denied inspections that had taken place, I had no less than 4 inspectors all of which quit ,

As long as I build houses are never ever uses company again

Contacted the company in Jan 2021, was informed that they have reached their limit and are unable to take new project on however, I should wait until 1st April as they were waiting for new agreement from their insurers. 1st of April came and went not heard from Protek. Attempted to contact them, had to send documents again as they could not find them, once again had to wait for a long time. Attempted to call the lady who I was in charge of our case, calls were ignored. Finally heard back from them today informing that they are unable to take our project on as the works already begun - those works begun whilst we were waiting for their response

I bought their site insurance for bungalow to house project. Unfortunately I've had cause to try to claim on the legal expenses element. The small print on this is very restrictive. The legal expenses only covers a very narrow set of circumstances rather than covering all risks that can affect a project or even all likely risks to a project. In my case this was a problem with site access - not covered (and something that would have been covered by house insurance). They also took a long time to deal with the claim and I had to chase them repeatedly. In hindsight this was rubbish policy to buy and I'd go elsewhere if I ever had to get site insurance again.
