Sting you for postage on faulty goods
Ordered a coat, paying for delivery. When it arrived, the coat was faulty with a seam which should have run down the front edge running diagonally across the front. Emailed them to let them know it was coming back with a fault, PAID to return it and ordered a replacement paying AGAIN for delivery. When they issued a refund they didn't include the cost incurred in returning a faulty item or the original delivery cost.
What they did do when I emailed them to tell them I was sending back a faulty Item was to tell me not to send it back but to send photographs and give them time to consider it. What is the point of me sending photographs when I am sending back the actual coat? Their return form allows you to show the reason for the return is that the item is faulty. And why should they sit on my money while they "consider" a fault that is patently obvious. If they had looked at it before despatch it presumably ???? would not have been sent out in the first place.
Legally, they are required to pay both the delivery and the return costs when refunding a faulty item. So they are operating outside consumer law.
Lastly, they sent me a link for a review to be published on their own website. Surprise, surprise it does not appear although later reviews by satisfied customers have been uploaded. So don't trust their own reviews as they obviously only show the positive ones.
In fairness they have refunded the money as indicated in their response below and have published the initial review on their website. However, they state they have refunded both delivery costs as a "goodwill" gesture. There is a legal requirement to refund both the delivery and the return costs for faulty goods. They're not doing more than they are legally required to do.

Firstly, we sincerely apologise that the item arrived with a fault. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide, and we understand how disappointing it must have been to receive a garment with a seam issue.
We can confirm this is being looked into internally.
When you contacted us to advise that the coat was faulty, our team asked if you could provide photographs and allow us a short period to review the issue before returning the item. We do ask customers to contact us prior to sending a faulty item back so that we can assess the problem and determine the quickest and most appropriate resolution. In many cases, this allows us to confirm a fault immediately and arrange a solution without the customer needing to incur return postage costs.
In this instance, the coat was returned before we had the opportunity to review the issue and advise on the next steps. Had we been able to look into the matter first, we would have been able to provide guidance on the return process and potentially remove the postage and delivery costs you incurred when sending the item back and ordering a replacement.
That said, we completely understand your frustration and, as a gesture of goodwill, we have now refunded the delivery costs associated with this order and your second order.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this situation caused and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Customer feedback is extremely valuable to us, and we will continue working to ensure a smoother experience in the future.

Beautiful quality & outstanding customer service
I recently ordered several dresses from Pretty Lavish for my bridesmaids to try. They kindly extended my return window when not everyone could try them on in time, which made the process so much less stressful. We compared with other brands, but the quality didn’t come close. We chose the Amelia One Shoulder Crepe Maxi Dress and my bridesmaids can’t wait to wear them! I’d 100% recommend Pretty Lavish - the customer service team were amazing throughout.

I needed to return a dress but had problems with postal company. Pretty Lavish were extremely supportive when I emailed them explaining this; reassuring me that I would be able to get a refund for the dress even though I had exceeded the 14 day return limit.

I had received a faulty dress so…
I had received a faulty dress so contacted the customer service team. They responded after 48 hours and were able to resolve my issue no problem. They gave me different options and I decided a a full refund would be best in this situation which they granted no issues. Very pleased with the customer care.

Be very careful when ordering.
Dresses are fine, but just be careful about the ridiculous return charges. Given this is mainly an online retailer you have no choice but to order to try on. You’re charged a huge amount for delivery, and then if you need to return something, not only do you have to pay £4.50 to generate the return QR code, but they then charge you an ADDITIONAL £3.95 for the shipping fee which they deduct from your return. I recently placed two orders, both with items that required returning - as a result I’ve spent near on £40 in delivery and return fees with not a lot to show for it. Huge rip off! Wouldn’t bother ordering again which is a shame as some of your clothes are quite nice.

I’ve been seriously impressed with Pretty Lavish’s overall service but customer service in particular. In today’s world where you are usually dealing with chat bots, Pretty Lavish has been the complete opposite. I had a complicated order issue (not a fault of PL) and Hannah from customer service was super helpful and patient. Their order systems seem to work like clockwork and I’m so glad I’ve decided to buy 6 bridesmaid dresses from them. The dresses are amazing quality, super comfy and my bridesmaids LOVE them. Delivery was quick. What I didn’t like and will stop me ordering again is the postage to receive item/items and then to return them cost to much. I have never had to pay such costs from other stores so for this reason I will shop elsewhere.

5 star bridesmaids' dresses
I recently purchased bridesmaids’ dresses from Pretty Lavish and could not be happier with the whole experience.
The dresses came in a beautiful variation of colours, and the quality is excellent. (Exactly what you hope for when ordering for such a special occasion.)
Delivery was quick, and the presentation boxes were beautiful; felt really luxurious.
I did need to contact customer services about one part of my order, and the team were fantastic; quick to respond, very helpful, and wonderfully personal in their approach. (Thank you for this!)
Overall, I am extremely impressed. I can highly recommend Pretty Lavish and would happily use them again!

Appalling customer service
I have placed five orders with this company spending in excess of £350. I ordered a dress that looked long on the model but at 5'7" thought it would be okay. It touched the floor with heels on. I returned it. As usual I had to pay £4.50 to cover the cost of the return...no problem there I suppose. You are asked to return all orders within 48 hours of raising a return. I rushed it to the post office. Waited a few days and they received it. I received updates regularly and then I was notified of my refund. They deducted another £12.95 as refund of their shipping costs. I wrote to their customer services telling them that their description was incorrect...the dress was way too long. I received a reply from their customer services telling me that it's all in their terms and conditions and that I should have read them. Appalling customer service.
I will not be ordering from them again...the quality of their clothing isn't that great generally either- cost per ware is hgh. I feel that most high street stores offer better quality and cheaper. They certainly don't charge you over £17 for placing an order and changing your mind.
You can see from their reply to my review. The information was incorrect on the item I purchased....I have them enough time before I left a review.
Of the items that I have previously purchased..I can honestly say you get much better value from other retailers and customer care. Beware before purchasing..
