Poundland Online service

This is for Poundland Online service:
I have mobility issues and can't carry a lot of shopping, so I do most of mine online once a month, I was really pleased when Poundland finally jumped on board and offered a delivery service, as they hadn't previously done this, however, when I filled my basket to make my monthly order, (which is usually 4 lots of everything for my bathroom and kitchen) it refused to allow you to purchase more than 1 or 2, items at a time, things like washing up liquid or toilet tissues that people need to stock up on for the month... one of the points of getting an online delivery, is that you can don't have to carry your own shopping and can stock up monthly; do they expect people to get a weekly shop at £5 for every delivery? Absolutely ridiculous

My online order from pound land was absolutely brilliant. Perfect double waller box, thicker boxes than amazon. The used the air packaging things so nothing moved. 3 clear bags to protect if any liquid leaked. A dettol substitution instead of Johnson antiseptic which is 6 times the price for free. Dpd careful delivery. Nothing damaged and if so it's a pound! I got an absolute haul my mum and sister are trying to pinch my purchases. Recommend 100 times. Fantastic and thoroughly impressed. Thank you pound land!

Worst service at Poundland Ilford store…

Worst service at Poundland Ilford store . The store manager is Racist and treat the Asians like garbage even when he himself is Asian and thinks he is better than the rest .
Never going back to Poundland . No wonder they are closing their stores . The management does not do anything even when I sent the email to them .

You appear to be making what should be a…

You appear to be making what should be a simple basic returns faulty procedure in store into an impossible unfair scenario to the customer. Adding by far way too many needless complications. What I got put though last sunday instore was something no customer should have to experience or endure. Accusations, lying by a staff member, and his attempting to make an almost Catch 22 situation over missing 'original exact packaging' was a total time wasting exercise, set to inconvenience me further still. There's a need for rules I appreciate, but there must as well be some commonsense flexibility also. Around those returns faulty goods rules. No excuse for rudeness to the customer and parroting to me time and again that I'm not listening to what I am being told by him. Dan the assistant who didn't want to assist was the one not listening at all. He then at end of his performance of being as difficult as possible to the extreme, attempted to take away from me other goods I'd just purchased minutes before despite having been told it was now my purchased property. I'd need to fully send complaint in email please. As your online form there too upon your website is a nightmare to fill out. Days are ticking by and no one is getting back to me. Mr Trevor DC Gamble

Update after final contact from customer services.

They claimed they'd already responded in the week. No sign of their reply in my spam or other email folders. They say they apologise for the way I was treated in the store. However they failed to allow me as I'd requested from them, opportunity to put full complaint into email to them. As the online form had a bad habit with its predictive text of changing around words as you tried to write them. All in all 100 per cent customer service fail from Poundland.

Thanks to G. BASKET CASE

The Manager who gave me his name as 'G' when I asked if he could help me with basket on wheels said I should bring someone with me in future. I have nobody here but my 86yr old mum dying of lymphoedema cellulitis and bedridden so shop for her spending, £28 in your store with heavy goods. Mostly after 28yrs shopping as a loyal customer spending over £20 each time, staff are helpful but this Monday morning 9am my experience was somewhat different and difficult as the Manager refused to lift basket for me to my car close by in car park. I wheeled it out and he shouted after me, catching me and banning me publicly outside. He said he'd call police so I welcomed their intervention however fruitless and waited for 20mins to no avail as G. became very possessive with his space when I tried to speak to police in background as he had them on the line.

My back is broken, having been hit by am Uber car passenger opening the rear door hitting me sideways on my bicycle. I've not recovered fully after 2years and experience extreme pain lifting and bending to pick up things.

G. is well built and strong and he helped me a week ago when I purchased 2sacks of compost lifting them to my car, he knows me and complained about my asking him then but this time became really hostile so it turned nasty...CCTV in store shows my struggling at the self serve area and he didn't help me by letting me take the basket to car, even though I shop 3 times a week there and all staff know me. I've left my mobile phone at till many times forgetting it and they hold it for me. They even answer it and I say it's me again, left mobile!

Shocking treatment and I left as police failed to arrive despite G's exaggeration that I was harassing him, invading his space, following him, merely in an effort to speak to police. Rules are rules but I wasn't stealing goods, had a receipt in good faith but was treated like a second rate citizen.

Needless to say I shall take my custom elsewhere after that nasty basket case G.

Very poor service there now.

Poundland.....Went there today in Wishaw for a few things, then headed for the tills.
Well there was one member of staff there like a shepherd seeing you to the self checkouts.
There were no tills open & another member of staff no idea what she was doing.
So i put my stuff back on a shelf & walked out,so you are expected to queue for a self service check out & then serve yourself, ridiculous.

I went to poundland on June the 14th…

I went to poundland on June the 14th 2025 . I prefer to pay at the checkout with a assistant . I am 80yrs and aren't very good with technology . I saw a young lady waiting at the side of the help yourself checkout and I've been there before and assistants have told me to wait near the assistant checkouts before so that's what I did this time . A male assistant came up to me and accused me of pushing in I tried to explain to him that assistants have told me to wait in another queue near the checkout with the assistant but he wouldn't listen instead he showed me up by accusing me of pushing in he was like a dog with a bone and was shouting at me . I have post traumatic strees disorder and was being to get frightened at his attitude . In the finish I threw the bag of sweets on a checkout machine and walked to the door where I waited while my daughter had finished her shopping. I told the male assistant I would like the telephone number of the head office and he went and got the lady manager she was just as belligerent as the assistant and has far as she was concerned he was quite right in treating me like a naughty child . I was very upset and my daughter asked me what was matter when I told her she asked to speak to the manageress but got the same attitude as I got my daughter tried to explain that I was deaf in my right ear and sometimes got confused but the manageress was just as bad mannered to my daughter as she was to me . I will never go in that shop at Pounlandland in the st John centre in Leeds again and I definitely wouldn't recommend this store because of some of the staff and management .

Self checkout madness

Always used Poundland and eager to support a local based company but why oh why is my local high street store now refusing to let you pay at the till and insisting you use the self checkouts ? The lady assistant is still there but just shepherds us towards the machine now no matter how many of us there are. It's not what us older generation wants and your pushing us away towards your competitors

I purchased 2 pair of jeans from poundland and left the receipt in my car, my car got cleaned for the mot and it must have been thrown away. The jeans were too big on me so I took my jeans back to the st helens store and spoke to the manager Peter who couldn't help me because of the
policy. I am a 56 year old lady who thinks iv been treated unfairly, the jeans have still got all the labels on. Just beware when purchasing clothes from this store I am now 17 pound out of pocket.

Terrible customer service at Barnet spires outlet

Terrible customer service at poundland located at Barnet Spires. I was there at 9.45 am today, 7th June to buy 11 white photo frames. There’s was just one frame on the isle and I politely asked the staff who was filling up the isles if by any chance do you think I can get 10 more from inside if they have stock.
Her first answer was No the stock just arrived and she needs to find there’s 5 or 9 boxes unload and she doesn’t know which one has what etc etc and said she can’t she’s the only one on duty. Rude and terrible response to a customer.
I asked her is it possible for you to Atleast check if possible. Her answer to me “WHAT ?? do you want me to unload all the boxes now I’m the only one on duty.” So unpleasant. I sadly had to ask her is this how you respond to your customer🤷‍♀️?she started blabbering in anger.

Poundland management as a human I understand the staff member must’ve answered me like this coz she’s frustrated as she had no other staff to help.
But in a customer services perspective, her attitude is terrible. Staff needs to be taught proper customer services skills. If they don’t know how to respond to situations like this and be flexible to go out of the way once in awhile then they really don’t care or know properly what good customer services is all about.
You really need some good customer service training to your staff.

That being said I also want to commend the staff member (lady)at the same outlet who was on duty last Sunday (1st June afternoon) who went out of her way to go inside and bring me one more chair seat cusions as there was only 3 in the counter. Sadly I don’t know her name. She was very helpful. She deserves commendation for exceptional customer service and pleasant personality. (Check the camera who the lady was bringing me with cushions). She’s an example for others.

I would kindly request to look into this matter as no customer should experience such unpleasantness from your staff.

Went to the store in Kidderminster

Went to the store in Kidderminster, brought 2 bottles of bleach on 2 for 1 offer. Was charge 3 times and payments deducted off one when I should be charge twice and then payments taken off one. It wont break the bank balance but that's not the point, when I spoke to the cashier about the errors she was very rude & ignorant and too stupid to see the mistakes even with the receipt & goods in front of her, I couldn't get a word in edgeway as she was verbally attacking me for a mistake that they made. I spend a lot every time I shop here and won't again due to poor customer service.

None existent customer service for the elderly. My elderly mother went into Ryde…

My very elderly mother went into Ryde IOW store today to buy one item. Just one other customer was standing near the till, the staff member said I can’t serve you I’m waiting for a manager. Mum moved to the next till where the assistant said, You’ll need to go to self service I’m closing my till. That assistant then moved from her till to stand near the self service checkouts. There was a 3rd staff member standing nearby, not one of these 3 staff members offered to help mum, expecting a 95 year old lady clearly struggling with cognitive skills to serve herself. Surely there should be a choice to be served if needed. No my mum didn’t and wouldn’t ask for help just as many from her generation wouldn’t. Yes I came over and done it for her but really what is happening with customer service these days it was completely nonexistent in Ryde Poundland today. A very sad sign of the times, this was very overwhelming for my poor mum, we need to remember we’ll all be old one day and things that may seem easy for younger people will be extremely confusing for us

Nothing is £1 anymore. It's just another discount store. Home bargains is much much cheaper and better quality. This year there was virtually no garden aisle. Shop is empty of customers. Needs to shut down.

Fantastic service (web shop)

Placed a fairly large order of everyday household items on poundland.co.uk. It arrived, everything as expected and packed in a sturdy box, four days later - over a bank holiday weekend! Way better than I expected.
