I went to the store in Hastings and…

I went to the store in Hastings and purchased a pack of five roll up compression bags.
I placed my clothes in them and rolled with all my might.
The air did come out and then the air refilled.
This was due to their being 2 holes in the bag which look as if they have been done by a hole punch.
Now I get this is for the safety of kids and totally understand this but why put them on bgas like this when they are not fit for purpose.
Maybe check ur stock as these holes don't allow them to compress at all.
Wasn't impressed so brought some from primark and had no issues.

annoyed

It’s a good shop so don’t get me wrong. But walking an hour for a singular item that probably won’t even be in because they have low stock every time is annoying. Poundland, you are ANNOYING.

POOR service

POOR service. Poundland in Leyton E10. Was accused of not paying for a £1 box of biscuits. Machine was confused so called the assistant told her I had paid and she said No! She needs to check. I would not have called her over if I was stealing and why lie about £1. Ridiculous!!!! Also very argumentative instead of apologising. Won’t be shopping in there again!!!!

Shocking service and refusal to honour purchases

Absolutely disgraceful experience with Poundland.

I purchased several items along with scratch cards in store. When I returned to claim the winnings, I was told the cards had “not been sold.” What made this worse was that the staff member clearly stated he remembered me buying them and even approving the transaction, yet still refused to honour the winnings and spoke to me in a rude and accusatory manner.

This was never about the money, it was about basic customer service and integrity. If a member of staff acknowledges a sale, how can the company then turn around and deny it?

Head office eventually came back offering £3, which completely misses the point. The issue is not the amount, it is the principle and the way I was treated. I was left embarrassed and walked out of the store without even taking the tickets.

A company that cannot honour a legitimate purchase or treat customers with respect is not one I will ever use again.

Avoid.

Incredibly poor customer service at the Queen Street, Cardiff store

This review is regarding the Poundland store at Queen Street, Cardiff, which I visited last Thursday (26th March) at approximately 4pm to 4.15pm. I was really shocked and dismayed at the way I was treated by a male member of staff when I wanted to purchase an item. There were self service check outs, but I looked for a counter where there would be a person to serve me (as I do with every store that I visit). There was a counter but there was no-one there. When I asked the (male) staff member standing near the self service tills, he explained that there was normally someone at the counter, but that they had gone for their break. I explained that I don't normally use self service tills and don't understand them. I asked for help and reluctantly moved over to the self service till. I thought that he would help me but instead, from a distance, he shouted instructions that I couldn't follow. A member of the public, who witnessed this, said she'd show me, and she did. She was very helpful and, as she showed me what to do, she commented on how disinterested the staff member had been, and how he hadn't seemed at all interested in helping. He did, eventually, shuffle over to me, but it was too late as I was already being shown by the member of the public and, to be honest, I didn't feel like speaking to him anyway, as I was upset. If anyone from Poundland is reading this review, please remember that not everyone is familiar with self service check outs and the very least that staff should do is assist customers. I don't feel like ever shopping here again.

Poor customer service

Why don't staff in stores say excuse me when they want to pass. Instead as a customer i have to move aside. Zero communication skills.

Great value and choice

I like poundland for everyday items ie. Toiletries, pet food, they stock the big name brands. But I also look at, and purchase their seasonal products. They are great for kids art and craft activities, and very reasonably priced. They also have a good range of household items from kitchen dishes to living room accessories.

Disrespectful and Unprofessional Staff at Ilford Exchange

I visited the Ilford Exchange branch in Ilford on 12th February in the afternoon and was shocked by the unprofessional behavior I witnessed. A staff member questioned a customer about whether she had purchased an item (crisps) in the store, despite having no evidence. The tone and attitude were humiliating, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable.

The customer, accompanied by a child, explained the item was purchased elsewhere, but the staff member persisted in a dismissive manner and discussed the situation with colleagues instead of addressing it professionally.

A security guard was present, so there was absolutely no reason to question the customer. This behavior shows a serious lack of training and respect for customers.

I urge Ilford Exchange management to investigate this incident, take corrective action, and ensure staff are properly trained to treat customers with respect. Experiences like this are damaging to the branch’s reputation and should not be tolerated.

I will not be returning to this branch and hope head office acts immediately.

Miserable staff

Visited Waterlooville on several occasions. I asked staff member at self services a simple question, all i got was ‘yeah’ , I felt I was bothering her, no rapport, no smile, miserable. I felt like saying ‘ are you happy in your work?’
On a previous visit there was an elderly lady who looked daunted at having to use the self service, she did ask if a till was open, only to be given a response of ‘No’ by staff member. Are they incapable of giving more than a one word response? And is it possible they could at least cheer up just a bit, a smile would be nice!

Disgusting

Disgusting. Purchased a number of valentines items for a valentines event. Got shoved to pay by a self service till that was out of paper so no reciept. Got home and found out one of the strings of heart lights had a broken battery box. Returned to store to ask for an exchange like for likeproduct. Was refused as I have no reciept. Will no longer be purchasing decor from here. I can understand if it wasn’t a like for like BROKEN item! Can literally see the battery box is unfinished. Waste of money on a tiny budgeted charity event. Leeds branch
