I've used this company twice, for plumbing. The workman has come promptly, done very good work and communicated well. However, this is what I would expect – this is the most expensive company I have... See more

We decided to give Pimlico another chance after previous poor experience. The booking went well and our plumber was prompt, polite, personable and kept us informed when problems occurred. We are pleased with the finished job. The downside is that the updated accounts system provides very inadequate information to the customer. It took 4 days and three chasers before the detailed information I requested was provided. One reasons we chose Pimlico was that there is a back office to deal with the admin and problems and this is reflected in the charges. If this part of the organisation doesn’t perform it raises questions of value for money.

Intervention very superficial and not professional at all,
Heat Recovery system noisy
I paid the service in advanced to have a visit of a technician that just tried to do a reset of the unit, he didn’t try to understand the problem, he didn’t open the unit to check the fan, with a red light switched on, just told me that the unit was old and probably to be replaced with a modern one.
I opened by myself the unit to clean the filter and I discovered that the fan was broken and I sent the pictures and aVideo to the sell representative for a second opinion; after 2 days the same technician sent me an email proposing a quotation to grease up the broken Fan and when I answered him no need because the fan was broken and the unit out of stock he has proposed me a quotation for the installation of the new unit but how he could do it without a specific check of everything about size, old connection, new connection etc etc considering that he hasn’t opened the unit when he came?
And of course no proposition of reimbursement

We had a leak in a kitchen pipe that was not easily accessible. Sebastian did an outstanding job - finding the leak and mending it with minimal disruption.
We really appreciated the quick response time on this.

We had Hasan fix a really dodgy boiler installation done by a different company and he was really brilliant all the way through the process, really helped get everything sorted as quickly and efficiently as possible, dealt with getting a scaffolder in, all the stuff that I was finding really stressful. Highly recommend, and thank you for doing a great job!

Expensive, but I’ve got to say, they show up and they get the job done to an excellent standard. I don’t go with anyone else now. Myles was incredibly professional, patient, and managed to get onsite within a very confusing time window to liaise with the Thames water team. All other times I’ve used Pimlico I’ve also had Myles come to my property and he has found the source of leaks rapidly. He kept me informed throughout and in a very stressful situation managed to get everything done without a whisper. Thank you Myles. The calling centre team are also incredibly helpful - Marcus especially was incredibly helpful and competent.

I was nervous of using PP due to the high costs expected but actually in the end it was quite reasonable. Most importantly they identified and sorted out the recurring issue!

I want to start this review by making it clear that the finished product from Pimlico Plumbers was excellent......how we got there however was not.
I used Pimlico Plumbers building/refurbishment service to put in a new bathroom as well fixing existing damp and plumbing issues. I have previously had excellent experiences using the company for emergency plumbing fixes and living in central London I felt comfortable potentially paying a premium to use a trusted company.
We met with our project manager who gave us a quote and said it would be done in 2 weeks. 4 weeks later it still wasn't done. I am not naive to projects overrunning but I would expect better communication as to why it is going over. My experience was workers turning up when they wanted and leaving when they wanted (the main builder regularly said he would turn up at 8 and leave at 3 but I leave for work at 8:30 and I saw him sitting in his van most days as I left). When the project did run over there were consistent promises of it being finished "soon" or in the next few days only for it to overrun. Workers said they would come in on weekends to make up time - this never materialised.
There was a genuine emergency one day when they turned the water back on to test the shower and it started leaking into the flats below. This got fixed as an emergency that day so does not explain the 2 week overrun. Whilst this was dealt with as a matter of urgency I did not get the same feeling on the rest of the project.
In the 4 week project we saw the "project manager" a grand total of twice and heard more from him come payment time than at any other point on the project. When I raised concerns about the length of time the project had taken and that I'd like a detailed list of materials and labour for the works this was ignored with him saying the lead worker said this wasn't true and another vague explanation as to why it cost what it did. There was no acknowledgement of poor practice other than saying he'd talk to one of the workers but did not give an explanation as to why things had overrun at all.
Finally whilst asking for these explanations I have been sent multiple emails a day from the accounts team and threatened with Bailiffs if I didn't pay despite them being cc'd into emails where they could see the situation.
Overall I have gone from a recommender and support of Pimlico Plumbers to never going to use them again and actively telling relatives and friends not to. A real lack of professionalism and it felt like an experience that everyone fears when getting work done of lack of clarity and a big fat bill at the end that does not explain how they calculated that number. To add to that when a query is raised effectively being stonewalled and told well the workers say they did nothing wrong that's that

I ordered a Neff integrated cookerhood, like for like replacement. I was told I needed both an electrician and a carpenter 1 hour callout £248. They informed me that the cooker hood despite showing power connection was not working. Total hours billed £528.
The item was replaced and a new one delivered same deal carpenter and electrician minimum callout £246
This time they tested the power but did not remove the item from the box ( THIS IS CRITICAL ) despite showing power connection it was not working. Once again I returned the item and requested a replacement from John Lewis they replaced the item once more. Third callout slightly different carpenter and electrician they tried to tell see that once again the item was not switching on. I opened the front panel (which the integrated cupboard door attaches to) and guess what it worked !!! The reality is that with this type of cooker hood you need to open the panel to activate the fan.
£430.50. So I have now spent an eye watering £1022, I just have this very uncomfortable feeling that it was not the cooker hood that was faulty. Because was you will remember above on 2nd visit they did not take it out of the box so therefore could not have opened the panel to activate the fan. Completely traumatised by this, I need another handyman service, but would not go near them.
Be very cautious about what they tell you on site.

I hired Pimlico for one job: to replace an outside tap that was leaking. While there, I asked Trey how long he thought it would take to also replace two isolation lever head valves. He though that both would take just another hour, so I asked him to go ahead. While working, he noticed that my kitchen sink was draining slowly, so since there was no risk of going into an addition 15 minutes of billing time, he plunged that sink for me. I appreciate the care he took for all the jobs and for taking care of that slow draining sink without me even mentioning it.
