Pictures on Gold is THE WORST! I placed a VERY EXPENSIVE order for 2 photo-engraved necklaces at the end of November, and received one email saying my order was placed, and another stating that my order shipped. In the "order shipped" email, there was a "Track My Order" link. Here it is nearing the END of December, and when/if the "track order" link is clicked it offers NO INFO beyond the date that the order was shipped - back in November! Since I want my order here in time for Xmas, I reached out via their website's "chat window", and spoke/typed with a rep. who BARELY spoke English, and took over 40 mins between responses - the last response, after I gave them my order number, never came, and I disconnected after an hour of waiting. I emailed them directly looking for ANY kind of update - no response. I tried calling their order telephone number - no help. So here it is, Xmas approaching, money spent/WASTED, and no info, or update, about when, or IF, I will get my items. Save your money. Stay away. I repeat, THEY ARE THE WORST!

Do NOT buy product from this company. Product came damaged and quality of the laser picture is faint and can barely be seen. They do not refund and only give credit on another purchase. But wait there’s more terrible news…they charge $50 to exchange and charge you shipping! BUYER BEWARE!!! I’m out $169.00…lesson learned.

I originally wrote a review because I was not getting a response on my emails from this company but they called me and they said they did reply. Not sure why I didn't get them but they were nice enough to call me and get it straightened out. Erica was very helpful and said my order would ship the end of this week. I would recommend this company as they do follow through. Thank you Erica.

I am willing to change my rating if they make this right. I ordered a necklace for my husband and it is poor quality. It did not come with a chain, and the engraving is so small you can’t read it. The back of it is buckled. It cost over $100. I want to return it.

The product came out exactly how I wanted it, I had a small issue with the order and they quickly reimburse me the money for an overcharge. Shipping was extremely fast.

Do not do business with these incompetent people. I placed an order at the end of July for my daughter‘s birthday at the end of September thinking I had plenty of time. Wrong! I received a pendant that was unpolished and half finished! I had to send it back and have them redo it and they did it extremely sloppily and uncentered. I sent it back again to do it right, and this time they sent me a proof before sending it, and it was still uncentered and had enamel splattered across the pendant. By now it’s near the end of September. I impressed upon them the importance of receiving this ASAP and at this rate, it would have to be overnighted to me. They agreed to FedEx on a Thursday, but it did not arrive on Friday.

It ended up in Connecticut! I called them and there was nothing they could do. I worked with FedEx and all I could do was just put in a ticket for it and have FedEx locate it. When it finally got to my state, which is 2 hours over from where they are located New Jersey, FedEx said they were not delivering it to me on Saturday (the next day) but rather Monday! My daughter already bumped her trip back by a week after her birthday and was coming at 3 PM on Saturday afternoon in Oct now. They told me not to drive to the FedEx facility to pick it up because they wouldn’t have access to it. I drove to the FedEx facility anyway on Saturday 3 hours before my daughter was arriving for her birthday. An amazing FedEx worker was able to locate my package in one of the sealed cans and manage to get it out for me. It took her nearly 35 minutes, but I appreciate that she worked to make this happen for me. I got home 30 minutes before my daughter arrived, and barely had time to wrap it.

To add to the aggravation, I received a notification that a credit was issued for the FedEx shipment. It went to Pictures on Gold, not to me! I’m the one that took 3 hours out of my day to go chase the damn thing down because they couldn’t do their jobs!

I called to talk to someone several times to complain about the service and the credit they received and didn’t deserve, and Pictures on Gold said somebody would call me back. I told them they are not entitled to that refund, I am, because I am the one that had to track it down, and they dropped the ball not getting it to me on time after their disappointing production process. They never called back. They knew the f-ed up and didn’t care.

Working with them was nothing short of aggravating. And, no, I still have not heard back from them… A bunch of incompetent thieves! It took from July to October 4 to receive my order, and I had to do all the legwork to get it!

3 months to get the order right, and I had to drive an hour each way to pick track it down on a Saturday. Absolutely infuriating!

EDIT: I did reach out to you about the awful product and service. More than once. And each time I was told someone would call me back. You haven’t! I waited two months for you to call, and now your stuck with this 1 star detailed review from me across multiple sites. You had your chance. You probably thought if I stopped calling you wouldn’t have to address this. Wrong. Put up or shut up. Call me if you mean it.

Ordered a custom Maltese cross necklace for my husband. Said it was delivered Monday by Amazon courier and it was never delivered at all. (Home security camera shows no one made any deliveries on Monday) I called filed a claim on Tuesday, they said they would contact me. On Thursday I called again to figure out the status and was assured a new order would be placed for a replacement and that I would receive an email with tracking. It is now Friday evening with no email or communication at all about my replacement. This was an expensive order and I’m very disappointed in the lack of follow through and I am not confident at this point that I will receive my order in time for Christmas.

In response to pictures on golds reply I have called every single day for the past three days and still have no tracking information but I was assured it was sent out today. I guess I will be calling again tomorrow.

Updating - called again today have been on hold for 21 minutes so far. No tracking info, no shipping info, no eta nothing. If this isn’t solved today I’m filing a fraud case with my bank which still doesn’t solve the fact that I won’t have this gift for Christmas. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and disappointing. DO NOT buy from this company!

I ordered a photo locket of my deceased father for my mother. When I received the locket, it was scratched and the locket wouldn't latch, falling open when it was worn on a chain. I have called and attempted to leave a voice mail but it was full. I emailed three times with no response. This place is a scam praying on vulnerable people like my grieving mother.

On November 11, 2025, my sister ordered a personalized locket necklace from Pictures on Gold for my 16-year-old son. He had saved all of his earnings to surprise me with a meaningful birthday gift, which made this order especially important to our family. Unfortunately, the locket arrived with a severely distorted photo—one of my son’s faces was completely missing. I immediately sent my sister photos of the issue, and she contacted the company. They provided a FedEx label for repair.

Before sending it back, I called customer service to request an exchange instead of a repair, given the poor quality and sentimental value. I was told I could choose a replacement within the credit limit, so I selected a heart-shaped pendant with updated photos and engraving. I then returned the defective locket.

On November 24, 2025, I received the package expecting the new pendant. Instead, the same original locket was returned to me—partially broken—and only part of the new engraving had been added to the back. No corrected photos, no replacement, and the item was now damaged.

On November 26, I contacted Pictures on Gold requesting a refund. While I'm aware they have a no-refund policy on personalized items, this situation involved two separate mistakes on an emotionally significant gift. A supervisor was supposedly notified, but later that day I received an email from someone named John denying the refund outright.

This is completely unacceptable. First, they produced a distorted locket. Then they returned the same item in even worse condition with incorrect engraving. Pictures on Gold has shown no regard for my son’s feelings or the hard-earned money he spent to create something special for me.

I have filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and The Better Business Bureau.

I ordered 2 custom lockets. When my package arrived I found only 1 locket with someone else’s picture inside. I’ve sent multiple emails regarding the mistake and options for a refund or my order to be remade and to have expedited shipping since they were Christmas gifts. I have not heard a word back from them as time creeps closer to Christmas. I spent over $200 for these as well. Poor customer service.

I bought a pendant of a picture of my deceased father from this company. I received a tiny charm with the picture of my dad that looks like he had lipstick on. I was told to return it back so they can redo another one. Why don’t the company send me the return label . I don’t recommended you buying a thing from Pictures On Gold. I purchased from Shein a picture on silver charm for $2.45 and the picture of my dad looks clear and good. This tells me a lot.

Ordered my daughter in law a locket with pink rose on the front. Received it and looks like a 4 year old painted it! Even the leaves were painted pink!! The engraved line was on top of the flower instead of beside it and was a mess!! $200 for this! Reading all the reviews makes me feel sick!! Wish I could put a picture of what it was supposed to look like versus what I got, you would truly be shocked! I will update this review with outcome, I have placed the complaint, and sent pictures as requested. I DO NOT want it replaced, but a refund, as any company that would send out a piece that looks like this, I have no faith in at all!

Received my 14k solid gold Celtic cross with my husbands finger print. What a piece of crap. Looks like I bought it at a dollar store. It gives the measurements for height and width and then says the height is the height of a half dollar. It is about as thick as a sheet of paper. I paid $474.00 for this piece of crap. Called them and they will replace or give store credit. Why the hell would I want another piece of crap. They will not refund. I can’t say it enough SCAM, SCAM,SCAM!

Update: they received my return of the incorrectly done item on 11/5. I followed up on 10/3 for an update since I hadn’t heard anything. They were going to check with their production team and get back to me. It’s now 10/7 and I haven’t heard anything. I called to get an update and received the same spiel. They will “escalate” this and “follow up with the production team” to get this “sent out tomorrow”. I’ve heard this spiel several times and still have not received my order from SEPTEMBER. I asked where I could request a refund if I do not receive the tracking number by tomorrow and they said “a refund isn’t really an option” and to just “call back tomorrow” if I don’t receive an email with the shipping information. So, if I don’t receive these cufflinks, I still won’t receive a refund. That’s theft.

They would get my money while I’m left with nothing and their customer service gives me the run around so that I can’t get what I ordered, payed for, and followed up about for the past 4 months when their whole promo is about getting your orders within a week.

I ordered a St Michael medal engraved and express shipping. I called immediately and canceled the order. I was told it went to production and she cannot cancel. I told her to please cancel there is no way that this order went that fast to production. She said they are making this order and there are No Refunds.I called my credit card company after I hung up. As I was talking to them I got an email that the order had shipped and will arrive Wednesday. Funny it is 9 pm on a Sat night, if this is true what she said I should get this no later than Monday with two day shipping. I called them back and wanted to talk to her supervisor and she said no one was there. I asked for her last name she said No last name!! If they stand by their product and have no issues with their policy why not give me your last name. This company is a scam do not do business with them. Buyer Beware, They will not cancel an order right after it was placed. The credit card company said since it say no refunds on their website this might be hard to dispute. Next I will file a complaint to the Ohio’s Attorney General, not sure if they can do anything but at least they will be aware of all the complaints this company has against them.

I received the generic reply to my complaint. If they would have read the complaint they would have realized I did not receive their product yet. I called and tried to cancel the order, and they would not let me. There is nowhere on this site that states no cancellations. Mary tells me it is on there. So, you cannot cancel and you cannot get a refund!

I received the medal on Wednesday. This is a five and dime medal, paper thin, St Michael is distorted you cannot make it out. The chain I paid $35 more for, is to big. The latch will not go through the loop on the medal. What garbage they sell. This place will close up soon with all the complaints and move on under a new name.
After filing a complaint with the BBB, they replied and I received a full refund. Thank you

I will start by saying the customer service reps were pleasant. Other than that, I don't have much positive to say. Buyer Beware!
I purchased a pendant which was definitely not what I expected. The picture made it appear more pillow shaped, but the back was concave. This is where it's engraved. The engraving is definitely small & can be difficult to read. But I guess they're working within the constraints of the size.
The real issue came into play with regard to the chain. I ordered the pendant in sterling as opposed to stainless. It includes an 18" chain. I could upgrade the chain, depending on length, for $34.95. I ordered 20". What I received was an 18" stainless chain, as well as the original chain on the item. (This is unclear when ordering).
I contacted them immediately. They requested pics next to a ruler. I complied. I was then told it had to be reviewed. It was a gift & I let them know from the beginning that I needed it asap.
Eventually, they sent the replacement with instructions & a plain white envelope, pre-addressed but not postage paid, to return the original Item, (wrong on 2 counts, incorrect size & NOT sterling!), at my expense. This really annoyed me. It doesn't matter how nominal, the fee. IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE! I finally received the replacement, which was very thin & flimsy. I contacted customer service immediately to initiate a return, well within the 30-day policy as I had just received it.
This process took multiple calls, much of it spent on hold, as it had to "be approved". Why? It's your policy. Multiple channels are needed for a standard return? I returned both items together with insurance, tracking & delivery updates.
I contacted them once it had been delivered to inquire about my refund. Again, it was going to take several days, as it had to be reviewed. Finally, I was credited, but only the purchase price not the tax. I called again & had to explain the nature of how that works. The tax should have been $2.45, I was eventually refunded $2. I wasn't calling again for .45c. I would neither do business with them again nor recommend them ever. You can find better quality of what they're selling at the mall or your local jewelry store. That's what I did for the chain. I ended up with better quality & 2" longer for the same price!

If I could give a zero I would. Terrible quality and false advertising with pictures that do not match product quality. Do not order

I ordered 3 lockets with pictures and engraving (close to $400).

In order to proof, you have to PAY but can leave notes at the end and trust they do a good job. Two out the 3 received were horrible.

One the verbiage so small on the locket you would need a magnifying glass to read it. Could have easily adjust the words per row and increased the font.

The 2nd was on a keychain but the spacing between the verbiage was unnecessary and made it look unprofessional. An easy fix by adjust the spacing and reducing font to fit into the space which is what I requested in all my notes at the end.

They don't follow your notes - and you have to pay for a proof.

12/9/25 emailed 3 times and called several only to be put on hold and never picked up.

12/16/25 I have called twice and messaged multiple times with still little help. The customer support is lacking as well.

I ordered a st Florian cross for my fiancé for Christmas. I paid almost $700 for this cross. Thinking it was gonna be thicker than it was. ITS PAPER THIN. the words on it are very unclear! I could’ve paid for a 100$ one and it look much better then the one I received. I called the number and pressed 4 for returns. And their mailbox was full. So I decided to call another extension and finally got a hold of someone. Just to tell me I can’t get my money back I can only get store credit. But after I go through the process. NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS SITE.
