A size guide would be helpful
Cannot find a Peter Storm clothing size guide anywhere (including the Peter Storm site). What company in this day and age of distance selling doesn't realize the importance of a size guide?

Disappointed- poor quality
Bought some £95 waterproof walking shoes back in 2020. They were great for walking holiday in the Peak District but then over next 12 months I noticed water getting in and the cause is two holes in identical places where the seams have simply come apart. Really poor quality. In contrast my walking boots from Hotter are still brilliant after 12 years.

Disappointing ladies walking boots
I purchased a pair of ladies
Rivelin walking boots in September last year. The boots appeared to be well made & were certainly comfortable. However, after 5 months of light use the sole on the left boot has started to come away and can see that the same is starting to happen on the right boot. I contacted Peter Storm then took the boots back to Outdoor Action - who promptly refunded me in full.

Poor Quality Boots
I bought a pair of mens Caldbeck waterproof walking boots on 17th October 2021.
They have been great for comfort and fully waterproof. However, the tread on the soles has proved to be completely useless and has worn through to the soft sole on both heels. As I only do an average amount of walking, I did not expect to have to replace what is marketed as a quality pair of boots within 4 months.
I find this particularly disappointing as the other Peter Storm products I own do live up to their reputation.

On 5th January 2022 I wrote a 5* review, regarding Peter Storm CALDBECK walking boots. They were so good I bought a new pair to replace my old ones which had done 1500Kms. ( same make, size, colour) BIG MISTAKE. The new ones are NOT waterproof, the interlining has ripped, they are uncomfortable, the sole is wearing already, the stiching around the heel has failed. All in 3 weeks. What has happened to quality control.

Tending to find major issues with Zips…
Tending to find major issues with Zips - latest was a Typhoon insulated jacket only worn 3 times for around 30 minutes each time - zip slider just fell off -previous jacket zip was failing to fasten so ditched jacket after 6 months (Typhoon was replacement).
Have used Peter Storm jackets for years and this issue is very recent now using 10 years old Peter Storm jacket which has been reproofed

Letting in water after less than 2 months
I had high hopes for these walking boots as shown as leather. After less than 2 months of wearing all these little dimples or holes appeared around the toe as in the photos. I'm assuming this is a coating and they are not all leather?? I have even use cream and leather polish on them. Im not sure where the water is coming in from but soles around my toes wet. I wear plastic bags on my feet now. The boots are comfortable. Disappointed. I volunteer as a dog walker at my local Rspca regularly.

Computer says no!
Awful customer service. If you try to query details of a product and if the information isn't available on their system they aren't able to even check!
I get the impression that the customer service is managed by agents who live elsewhere and don't have access to the warehouse or stock.

I haven't yet bought anything as I can't find a size chart for Peter Storm clothing. Buying online is difficult, but dread the thought of having to return items if they don't fit, and costly too!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Recently ordered pair of ladies walking boots after first checking that if they needed to be returned InPost would accept my return (they do not offer free returns via Royal Mail). Turns out box is too big to return with InPost. Now Customer Services say that I have to pay to return the item or take back to a store. Not what I want to do. Will never place an order with them again. Be warned!!

Disappointed in the quality.
Disappointed that pair of Peter Storm boots bought as a Christmas present last year, so not even a year old yet, are destined for the bin!
My late father bought me the boots to help with the walking I had take up as part of my weight loss regime. The boots felt very sturdy and supported my feet, however I added memory foam insoles to improve the comfort.
I have used over the past 10 months but recently noticed that one foot was getting wet and on a walk last week in Battle the sole came away from the upper part of the shoe and had to curtail my walk as it was quite hard walking with the sole 'flapping'.
Very disappointed as these had been recommended but sadly have not lived up to my expectations.

Peter Storm Jackets - Seem Problems
I purchased a Peter Storm Jacket from Millets it has no identification name but is similar to the Downpour Waterproof Jacket in style and colour. The Label says Oder No +86-104184 PTSTM10008 Body 100% Polyester. I have had it several years and have had a lot of problems with the seems detaching. There appears to be a lack of material around the seems and they are allways coming apart. They are certainly not sealed. I am thining of buying a Downpout Waterproof Jacket but am concerned that the seems will once again be the weak point of the coat.

I have been a regular customer of Peter…
I have been a regular customer of Peter Storm purchasing men’s walking boots. I’ve been happy with the boots I’ve purchased and would have definitely said they were warm, comfortable and gave value for money.
HOWEVER, I purchased a pair of brown size 10 men’s walking boot less than a year ago. Limit use over this period and virtually no use over the last 5 months.
I started using them a few weeks ago and discovered that my feet were getting damp very quickly. Having dried the boots naturally and dubbened them I had the same problem the next time I used them. Closer inspection shows the instep of the left boot completely detached from the sole and the same starting on the front and offset of the right boot. They are no longer useable.
Without doubt this damage has not been made by normal usage.
Has their been other complaints of this nature?
Has there been a batch of defective footwear despatched?

Waterproof walking shoes very poor
I bought a pair of Peter Storm waterproof walking shoes from Millets. Seams gave way within weeks. About as waterproof as flip flops. Cannot be bothered returning them as I’ve been here with similar brands and just end up in a cycle of correspondence resulting in getting a replacement pair of substandard walking shoes. Wear, leak, complain, repeat.
Is there any company in the UK who can supply a pair of affordable waterproof shoes which do not fail within weeks of buying.

Result! Eventually
Absolute farce. Unable to use discount code they sent. Was told item was not in stock but was able to purchase it anyway. Was told again that it was out of stock but then was sent a dispatch notification. Was subsequently told that in spite of my being told the item was on its way to me, 'the order will most likely get cancelled by the system as the item is currently out of stock.' Sent the order number to customer services, they say it is not recognised - even though I copied and pasted it from Peter Storm's own order email. Saga is ongoing, correspondence almost daily with customer services, no idea if I will actually receive the item or not. They seem to be in total chaos. Which is a shame as I find their walking gear to be generally decent and good value for money.
Edit 22 September: the story goes on:
Today I received:
1. An email telling me that the item I had ordered was not in stock and that the order would be cancelled - but also telling me due to IT problems that they could not find trace of my order against the order number given (which makes no sense at all - if they couldn't trace my order, how did they know the item was out of stock??)
2. The item, delivered to my door! (which is good, but I have paid full price and will now have to try and extract the promised discount from them!)
Further update 22 Sept 5.30pm
Astonishingly, I have received a sensible email and a refund of the discount to my Paypal account. Well done to Jordan in Customer Services for sorting this out, I have upped the rating from 1 to 2 stars in recognition.

Dangerous Peter Storm walking boots
I bought a pair of Peter Storm walking boots. After minimal use but just over the year's warranty the sole of one became completely detached while walking in the Beacons. I struggled to return to the car. Millets, who own the brand, were hopeless despite supplying photos etc. Dreadful customer service.

Stressful OAP sorting it???
Ordered 2 prs of ladies waterproofs on 2nd July,
Received 5th July, returned same day for refund as to large.
Receved at Millets returns 14th.( Post Office slow).
Receved email with refund of £0.00.Rang customer service about this and was told to ignore as we would get a refund in 14 days.Rang again on the 23rd and 24th and was given same answer.Rang again on the 28th about refund, which we should have received as per T & C.The order had not been processed.Told it would be another 14 days to process. Asked to speak to a manager, and was told they would give the same answer.Sent numerous 18 emails asking to speak to a manager but all i got was differant customer service people asking why, the answer is obvious, how can you refund £0.00.Another email saying order was cancelled???. Sent another email saying i was not giving up, we then received an email saying the refund would be in our account in 3 to 5 working days.(Yes it was.) Just 1 phonecall from a manager would have sorted this and stopped all the emails back and forth. Do not give up till you get a result.
Will not order from Peter Storm on line again.

Poor Quality Hiking Shoes
Edit 4 (05/08/2021) - No reply to my email so I contacted JD Help on Twitter. They could not find any record of the reference number Bekki gave me, nor any of our email messages. And were not interested in responding to the issue of the poor quality of the products.
Edit 3 (03/08/2021) - Now you have replied asking for all the information that I included in my original email to you!
Edit 2 (02/08/2021) - Still no reply!
Edit 1 (30/07/2021) - I have emailed you as requested, no reply!!!
I bought a pair of hiking shoes and am very disappointed with the quality of them. First one of the metal lace hooks broke off, I sent the shoes back and was sent a replacement pair. Now the soles are pulling away from the uppers on both shoes.

Poor Quality Disappointed
The jacket I purchased at Millets fell to pieces after 18 months and I had hardly worn it because of lockdown, and washed it once. It was over £40 and I felt it important to let people know how poor that is.
