Amazing quality on the branding plate - really accurate when you get used to the branding process. The only thing that would be nice is an indicator on the electric iron component to tell when it... See more

Communication is terrible

Product was ok. Communication was terrible and delivery took ages. Even after we’d received it, we asked a question as there was smoke coming from it….no reply.

Update 26th November

Update 26th November - My order has arrived, and I am thrilled with the outcome. Although communication was sparse due to their busy schedule, everything turned out great. Initially, I was concerned about not discussing the design in advance and unsure I had provided the correct details, but they executed it perfectly, so it all worked out in the end.7th November - Judging from other reviews, Mike seems to be a great person. Perhaps they're going through a busy phase, I'm not certain. I made a purchase, and although my payment was processed, I haven't received any follow-up or confirmation email, which is a bit unsettling. I don't think it's a scam, but I'd recommend waiting to place an order until they sort out their communication, as I'm currently £148 out with no product.

Faulty heating unit and replacement…

Received branding iron with electric heater to brand wood projects.
2 stars as the heater didn’t work. Kept tripping out main house RCD breaker.
Contacted outpost sent a replacement very quickly. Replacement heater unit was the same problem. Changed RCD breaker and still house tripped. Units are faulty and remain so. Had no further feedback from outpost.

Edit

Edit: The gift has arrived and it looks fantastic. I can't yet speak to its functionality since it's a Christmas present, but the quality seems impressive and it was packaged nicely.I truly hope this is a simple error. I purchased a Christmas gift for my Dad and now I'm worried about losing £140. I've reached out via email, Instagram, and Facebook with no response. According to other reviews, this isn't typical service, but it's caused me significant stress, leaving me unable to purchase from another vendor.

Beautiful branding iron

Beautiful branding iron, very well made, I was worried the delicate font wouldn’t be possible but they said it would be fine they advised me on what size would be most cost effective for me and I received a perfect branding iron within a week ^_^

A long wait but looks like a good product

Edit: Now received and looks lovely . Can’t comment on how well it works as it is a Christmas gift but looks good quality and was well wrapped.

Hoping that this is just a mistake but ordered a present for my Dad as a special Christmas gift and am now concerned that I have lost £140. I have sent an email, Instagram and Facebook message but have received no reply. From other reviews, it seems this is not the normal service but this has caused me enormous anxiety and I am so upset that I can’t even now afford to buy from another seller

Custom branding iron and stock letter and number set.

The custom cut branding set and the stock letter and number set are made very nicely and packaged very well. I am extremely pleased with the results so far. I was surprised to see they are made of brass and a lot of care has gone into their making. The electric heater is robust. Overall, very pleaser I went to Mike’s Outpost Workshop.

Lovely people, lovely craft

Update 26th November - my product has now arrived and I'm delighted with it. Don't worry if you don't get much communication- they are busy! But the items now arrived. I didn't get a chance to discuss the design with them beforehand which was a worry because I didn't know if I'd sent the right info - but they got it just right, so all's well that ends well.

7th November - I suspect, from these reviews, that Mike is an excellent guy. Perhaps something is happening at the moment - I don't know. But I placed an order and my money has been taken, with no response whatsoever. I'm quite worried. I doubt it's a scam, but I'd suggest holding off placing an order until the communication issue has been resolved, because currently I'm £148 down with no product and no confirmation email, a bit unsettling.
