Hi Mark,
Thank you for contacting us via Trustpilot. I’m deeply sorry that both your broadband and phone remain unavailable after the engineer assured you everything was working. I understand how distressing this must be, particularly as the situation is leaving you unable to settle or sleep. I would request you to please contact your service provider urgently, tell them that you have a complete loss of both services and explain how seriously this is affecting you. Ask them to prioritise the fault, complete the necessary checks and arrange the earliest possible engineer visit if further Openreach work is needed. You should not have been left without working services after being told the installation was complete. Please accept my sincere apologies for the failed connection, incorrect reassurance and worry caused.^Abir

Terrible experience with openreach

The man who came was not pleasant and quite rude. He threatened to walk off-site a couple of times.
He refused to put the fibre WiFi where I wanted him to and did not explain anything, as the email said.

No explanation or advice on how long it will take for my fibre-optic Wi-Fi to stabilise and work properly. It is so slow at the moment.

Hi Andrea,
Thank you for contacting us via Trustpilot. I’m very sorry that the engineer’s manner came across as rude and that you were made to feel the visit might be abandoned. Your preferred equipment location should have been properly discussed, with any genuine installation or safety limitations explained clearly and respectfully. If you remain unhappy with the positioning, please contact your service provider and ask them to review the installation. They can raise this with Openreach so the equipment placement can be assessed and any suitable remedial work arranged. Please accept my apologies for the engineer’s conduct, lack of explanation and disappointing experience. ^Abir

Health & safty issues

BT – URGENT HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUE

It has now been 7 days since my broadband was installed, and there is still a broken drill/tool left behind from the installation which the engineer was unable to remove.

The engineer tried his best and told me that someone would return the following day, first thing in the morning, to remove it. This has not happened.

I have now called BT several times. Each time I have been given very little assistance and have been told that someone would call me back. I am still waiting. On one occasion, I spent more than 60 minutes trying to get through.

This is no longer simply a service issue — it is a health and safety concern.

If someone gets injured because this equipment has been left in place for 7 days, who will be responsible? I have repeatedly reported the problem and given BT the opportunity to resolve it, but very little action has been taken.

I need BT to:

1. Treat this as an URGENT HEALTH & SAFETY MATTER.
2. Arrange for an engineer to attend and remove the broken equipment as soon as possible.
3. Confirm that the issue has been formally logged and provide me with the complaint/reference number.
4. Explain why I was promised a next-day visit and why this has still not happened.
5. Confirm who is responsible for any injury or damage resulting from this unresolved hazard.

This level of service is completely unacceptable. I will be contacting BT again today, but I expect this matter to be escalated and resolved urgently.
