Pointless sending Ofcom a complaint Ofcom reference: 01661656

Pointless sending Ofcom a complaint, I was told to contact Evri to complain, anyone who has had problems with Evri knows that it is impossible to contact Evri. There customer service contact number asks you for your tracking number and that's where the service ends. Ofcom then told me to contact Citizens Advice who are totally useless, as i have had dealings with them before. John Lewis staff are incompetent and fail to take down information over the phone. I won't be using any site that uses Evri for delivery. Thanks Holly from the Consumer Contact Team for your generic email.

Little value to UK tax payer

Many telephone numbers on the website don't work and when contacting someone responses are wishy washy, no real powers to enforce or support joe public against the mighty telecom companies, so yet another useless government organisation costing us taxpayers money with little value in my opinion.

Sticking up for the the trouble causes,

OFCOM is more for causing and sticking up about Diersity and getting involved with the lefties instead of keeping out of it, If we complained of the lefties and this wokery and the woke brigade, they would turn a blind eye,
This world as to ofcom are sick in the head, never mind lost there sanity,
It's about time they stood up to their true value and let the people complain about this wokeness and the lefties, as we all know what side there bread is buttered on,
It's about time now the people fought back because they don't like the truth being told,
All of this is as to Ofcom are a disgrace to society making things are more worse to please toughs who are the trouble causes,
No use nor ornament is this firm sometimes as saying your piece and thoughts is just not expectable to them of Ofcom,
This world is just going bezerk every day,

Fibre Internet Monopoly

Dear Ofcom, what will happen to this country's internet monopolies? When will we be able to choose our internet provider between two fiber internet providers, without being forced to use copper wires from ADSL?

After moving into our new house, I tried to get fibre internet from Virgin Media. Our postcode appeared on the coverage map, and all the surrounding house numbers seem to have service, but it shows that there's no service in our building. It's clearly a database problem.

To report this issue, I went to their website, which seems to be designed so that nobody can contact them and ask questions. I have seen similar problems with other companies. You cannot ask a question to an internet company without becoming a member or filling out a form. Even the smallest e-commerce companies have a lot of requirements, but for some reason, it is impossible to access companies that operate as a monopoly in certain regions for fibre internet.

Ofcom needs to set standards for these companies that ensure easy, accessible, and direct access.
Dear Virgin Media, your online chat doesn't work, your phone lines are not accessible, and you don't have an email.

Not Independent

My complaint was not dealt with even though there was clear evidence.
Ofcom claim to be independent yet they are far from it. The organisation is loaded with government agenda following plants that tow the party line as told and if you say anything against that line, you can expect to be censored and silenced.

Heaven help free speech if this organisation ever gets to regulate anything online.

A danger to British values.

In frustrating and banning free speech and the freedom to debate, Ofcom is damaging British democracy, overreaching its mandate and becoming a danger to traditional British values.

Ofcom only interested in broadband suppliers

Ofcom. What on earth were you playing at when you allowed broadband suppliers free reign to "interrupt" a legally binding contract, allowing them to increase prices, during a fixed contract. Were you following instructions from these providers or even the government. It is time this malpractice stopped!!! Please stop prioritising the interests of these companies and start making customers your main concern (this is why you exist)

Bizzare...the same narcissism first…

Bizzare...the same narcissism first displayed by talktalk whom my complaint was intially with, they dont regukate anything...despite claiming to do so over and over again...cutting you off mid sentence ,deliberate gaslighting ,just another layer of the scam that is talk talk broadband, snarky, unpleasant, obfuscatory and most of all completely silent outside the scripts they have been given to read.
The behaviour of talk talk is very much empowered by this setup...paid for by your own taxes...
The strange young man on the phone informed me that he was basically my only option for anyone to talk to fesoitebasking to speak with someone else instead...
Corrupt and not fit for purpose seem to be the only terms applicable to them...
"If youbdont like then complain tonparliament" was the snarky answer given.
Its evidence that this country and regulatory bodies systems are beyond broken amd deliberately setup in order to not concede to or address any consumer issues at all.

The Disappointment!

Contacted the Obudsman regarding our horrendous experience with Virgin Media. Despite extensive evidence uploaded showing our terrible service and even worse customer service it was found against us. I can't even begin to fathom why. Disappointed by their so called impartiality!

i would like to know what you actually…

i would like to know what you actually regulate in the telecoms sector,, as far as i can tell any complaints about providers are fobbed off to CISAS, whom i question there transparency in complaints since they appear to be funded by the very organisations that consumers complaint about, and the have no powers to bring providers to task about their failings. so what use is OfCom these days?

I had a far different experience than below. I contacted OFCOM with respect to a problem with a number porting arrangement between old and new provider. They responded very promptly and offered to weigh in and guide. I was truly impressed with the organisation from my experience.

Thankyou to Rebecca M.

NOTE: below are some reviews which appear to relate to energy and other matters. Clearly OFCOM is not relevant to this thread therefore I would discount those.

Ofcom the most useless organisation on…

Ofcom the most useless organisation on the planet!
The customers of BT and Virgin Media are frustrated with these incompetent companies and Ofcom are doing nothing to improve things. I waited for up to one hour to get through to both BT and Virgin Media without success. Ofcom website full of useless waffle but not simple complaint procedure. Ofcom is created Not to help the consumer but to support inefficient essential phone and internet service.

Are of ofcom employed by utility…

Are ofcom employed by utility providers? The way they behave leads me to conclude they are.

Pointless organisation and they appear to support only the hand that feeds them. Perhaps a review of their ethics policy is needed and government need to hold them accountable to ensure they act impartially at all times.
