Used them for a long time.

I have been using Nordan for a number of years now and find their windows to be very good. The performance of their triple glazed aluclad windows are particularly good. I generally don't have any problems with them but anything that does arise is dealt with efficiently. On the whole I would certainly recommend.

Great!

Great!

We have used Nordan for a couple of big projects in the past few years and couldn't fault them. Great products and great customer service from start to finish. We have been really pleased with the overall service and would definitely recommend. Have had to deal with some pretty poor companies in the past, so glad we now found a good supplier we can keep going back to

We have worked with NorDan since the early 2000s

We have worked with NorDan in Wales since the early 2000s and we have always been happy with their approach to discuss in detail each project we are working on as well as any technical aspects. Where the majority of the projects are based they are exposed to quite extreme weather conditions and have all worked exceptionally well.

Poor customer service

'Customer service is the support you offer your customers — both before and after they buy and use your products or services — that helps them have an easy and enjoyable experience with you."

I work for an organisation where it is important we take good care of our service users. Incoming enquiries are responded to in 24 hours. If we can't give an immediate response we send a holding email saying we are looking into their enquiry. Enquiries are logged, then monitored and managed until resolved. They are only taken off the log when we know the enquiry has been dealt with. These should be basics of customer service.

It saddens me to mirror reviews below that Nordan offers very poor customer service. A few examples:

1. Emails to customer service team are not responded to. Two weeks after sending an email you have to chase up just at to get an acknowledgement that they received it. If you don't chase you get no response.
2. In my experience enquiries are forwarded to a colleague and then forgotten about by customer service.
3. The colleague that my enquiry went to called me once left no voicemail and never called again. 3 months later I am contacting customer service again to try and reopen the enquiry as nobody from customer service seems to be seeing enquiries through to some kind of conclusion.
4. I was supposed to receive a written report from Nordan about problems with my windows to help me make a claim against a builder. It took many months to receive a report that was inaccurate. Many more months have passed and I am still chasing for the report to be updated. In total 9 months have passed since my initial contact with Nordan and I still do not have the report that will help get my windows repaired.

Whilst I understand Nordan's response to other reviews - "please email our customer service team", the fact is I am already in touch with customer service and the service is not working and needs significant improvement.

Please resource your customer service team so you can

A) respond to your customers in a reasonable timeframe
B) track customer enquiries and see them through to conclusion

You make good windows but your service really lets your organisation down and my experience with you has been far from 'easy and enjoyable".

I have not been disappointed, although i did have damage on delivery, this was resolved extremely quickly and professionally. Office support was spot on. I would recommend

Excellent!

We've been using Nordan windows and doors for high spec foreshore new builds and conversions for over 8 years, and have found their products and service excellent for the cost. The aluminium, profiles and seals cope extremely well in this exposed location, and they have better durability and airtightness than products that are far more expensive. When there is occasionally an issue, they now have an engineer who comes and resolves the problem. We like that they come pre-glazed, and we can install ourselves, as it helps hugely with our sequencing not having to rely on other fitters. Overall great, and we'll continue to specify Nordan on many of our projects.

Go elsewhere. This company are appalling.

We are building a house in Cornwall and have spent thousands of pounds on 29 new windows and doors. The 2 sliding doors have not worked since installation and we have spent the past 12 months trying to get this matter resolved. The units that were delivered were not the ones we saw and ordered in the showroom and they are refusing to answer questions about this. Their customer service is absolutely appalling. We have had numerous visits by engineers and after 12 months we still cannot use the 2 sliding doors. The locks have been faulty, the handles are wobbly and are just wrong, the doors are bowed and don't fit correctly so we will never pass an airtightness test. The door handle of another door had an end that fell out and hasn't been replaced as the part they sent out with the engineer was incorrect. Other replacement parts: window covers, handles, locks etc have been sent out incorrectly. I have now emailed the UK CEO as we are getting nowhere.
We expected (and paid for) a quality product and these are anything but. This is now preventing us from progressing with our build and so costing us dearly in both time and money.
Apologies are not enough NorDan. Get your act together and provide us with products that work.
I am appalled to see so many poor reviews here with many of the same problems as we have. I truly wish we had gone elsewhere.

Update: After threatening this company with Court action, they finally agreed that the product was not fit for purpose and they had not provided us with what we had agreed and expected. We have received a full refund for the faulty sliding doors and other costs requested for their appalling service and product.
If there is anyone else who has been given short shrift over being provided with sliding doors they did not actually order, please look again. You do not have to put up with your faulty product.

Multiple unit failures - these products are time limited

Having moved into a 20-year-old property fitted throughout with Nordan windows and doors, we're experiencing multiple unit failures. Window frames in weather-exposed locations have rotted underneath the alu cladding and were no longer weathertight; a number of external doors are basically falling apart, delaminating in layers and the glass is loose in the frames. These are all steadily requiring replacement. Old alu cladding is slipping or falling off on a number of other frames. Inside, the wood gloss has faded and wood is beginning to look very old and water-damaged in places. The costs so far have run into thousands and I shudder to think what the bill will be if all the units in our house progressively fail over the next few years, one after another. We would probably have to take out another mortgage or sell up and move on. Nordan windows do not appear to have a reliable long lifespan. Some serious maintenance/refurbishment is required in our case, and needless to say whenever something needs to be replaced we are not going to be buying like for like from Nordan.

Scratches and defects on newly delivered glasses

We regret to express a negative opinion about Nordan Company based on our experience with their window products. Despite multiple replacements, the persistent presence of defects and scratches in the delivered glasses, even after being adequately protected during delivery, raises serious concerns about the overall quality control of Nordan's products. The extended waiting period for replacements, coupled with the inconvenience of a winter installation day, further adds to our dissatisfaction. The ongoing issue and lack of resolution contribute to a disheartening experience, and we hope that Nordan takes immediate steps to rectify these quality issues.

Very disappointed in Nordan

We had our house built in 2017 and chose Nordan triple glazed windows, front and back doors and sliding patio doors. We have continuous problems with all the units. Problems have included slipping metal cladding exposing the timber in the window units, jamming doors and patio doors and corroded fittings. Nordan and others on behalf of Nordan have visited multiple times and failed to fully resolve the problems. As others have said they will blame fitters etc even when it is fault inntheir units
I would not recommend Nordan.

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. Multiple problems with the products. They have no interest in fixing the problems though, they have resorted to the blame game. They did send a guy to inspect, who blamed the installer (which is an approved installer). The old design of the sliders had a middle support on the vertical to pull the seal tight after it's closed. The new ones do not, and the seals do not work. There is condensation on the inside of the handle constantly, and the alloy on the threshold is constantly wet, no thermal bridge between the outside. Poor design for the price. It's been 12 months since the install and issues are still not fixed.

1st Class Service

We’ve had our NorDan Triple Glazed Windows since 1987. The frames and glass have weathered well. Unfortunately we had a problem recently with one window and found a Guide Plate had “broken in two”. Resulting in one of the top securing pins being out of line and causing difficulty to close from the Turn position. Having emailed NorDan Hardware in Scotland, they managed to supply a fairly similar Guide Plate which we were able to fit. Thank you to Jodie for your efforts, which included several emails, to locate a suitable Spare Part.

Top quality windows and doors

I am delighted with our Nordan windows and doors. The quality is very impressive, they work so smoothly, look excellent and have high insulation value and sound proofing.

Adam Parnell in the Exeter office delt with our order from start to finish. Everything went smoothly and on time. My references from my original window schedule were adopted by Nordan and used on all the windows on delivery, which kept everything organised on site.

I highly recommend Nordan and look forward to working with them again.

Non existent customer serivice

From start to finish and still ongoing a dreadful experience. Too many issues to list but they include, wrong coloured cills delivered 3 times incorrectly, units scratched on delivery, faulty sliding mechanisms on all sliding doors. Nordan recommends someone to fix who eventually turns up and damages glass on multplie units only to be told the cost to fix would be ours!! Avoid them at all costs

We are a self-build and have chosen to…

We are a self-build and have chosen to purchase Nordan windows and doors. Besides from the fact that both sliding doors needed fixing (and are not fixed yet as the team appear but the needed parts do not), it appears to be extremely challenging for the Nordan management to organise a delivery of a missing window cill. Firstly, we have been waiting since December 2022. Then we were told it was delivered in September 2023 (to the wrong house!!) and the wrong size!! When challenged that, have been advised to use a hucksaw on it to cut it shorter. Could Nordan customer services advise how exactly that could be done with achieving a clean finish and the product not rusting after that? Asking before contacting the Managing Director, who is my understanding is due to start his new role in January 2024 but should be reachable through social media.

Hello Rigerz,

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the door issue. I apologise for any inconvenience you've faced. Our customer service team is actively addressing the problem.

I noticed there might be confusion about using a hacksaw. Please refrain from doing so, as it may complicate matters.

If you would like to discuss further, please contact our customer service team at Customer.Service@NorDan.co.uk.

Thank you.

Nordan front door bowed and slow response from Nordan

We moved into our 18 month old property a few months ago (second owners) and have a Nordan front door with sidelights. It has always been extremely difficult to open, the previous owners told us, and despite our builders' joiners trying to adjust it several times, it has become impossible for me to open without using brute force and putting my shoulder against it. Our builders asked the Nordan engineer to visit, and Nordan's representative (GlassRestore/Spectrum), who came to visit 10 days ago, admitted the door itself is bowed in the middle and cannot be locked properly, and said they would replace it. They took pictures and all the details of the door.
Today, 10 days later, GlassRestore/Spectrum phoned and said they have to re-visit as Nordan have asked them to look at the door again, and Nordan have now given a 10-12 week timescale for replacement of the door once this second visit is done in 2 weeks time (that is assuming Nordan replace it). Extremely disappointed that a front door I am unable to open will take 3 months to replace. The estate we live on has multiple issues on many houses with these front doors. Cannot recommend Nordan doors or give them more than 1 star because of these problems.

Poor Warranty Cover

NorDan provided all windows and doors for a new build house for me. I was generally impressed with the quality of all the windows and doors but had an issue with one window following installation.

The inside pane completely shattered. It happened at a time when I am certain there was no one in the house. NorDan have said it is due to a thermal stress fracture which is not covered by their warranty.

I find this disappointing as if a window breaks under normal operating conditions due to any kind of stress not related to poor installation or impact I would have expected this to be covered by warranty.

Edit 1/01/24: I contacted their customer services as requested several times and called on many occasions but never had a single response from Nordan. As far as I can see they just completely ignore customer service requests.

Edit 15/02/24: I eventually called the head office sales team and after several conversations they did agree to refund me for the replacement window I had to buy and also covered the costs of installation. However, it took me nearly a year to get to this point and many hours of chasing Nordan.
