After being a loyal Dentrix customer for over 15 years, I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with the recent experience we've had. We paid over $6,000 for the software initially and invested more than $115,000 in equipment — all to ensure we qualified for the necessary licensing.
Now, out of nowhere, we receive an email claiming Dentrix is installed on more than the allowed 10 workstations and 1 server, and that we must pay $260 per additional workstation. I called Henry Schein to get clarity, and the representative I spoke to was rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was instead sent an email from a nameless “Senior Finance CSR” who stated that on April 15th, our card on file will be charged — no discussion, no options, just a threat to bill us.
This kind of aggressive and heavy-handed approach is unacceptable — especially for long-time customers who have already made a significant financial commitment to the platform. Dentrix used to be a trusted name in dental software, but this experience has completely changed my perception.
If you’re considering Dentrix, I would strongly encourage you to think twice. Their licensing practices feel like a cash grab, and their customer service leaves much to be desired.
