After doing the lottery ever since it started I'm not going to do it anymore. A pathetic 2m jackpot not won. The second prize of 1m not won. 80 % of prizes won were an uninspiring £10 or £1 (not even... See more

I didn't think it could get much worse…

I didn't think it could get much worse but the latest changes are awful. This week's jackpot was a only 2 million for a Saturday. And the silly prize structure is so confusing. Wow I won a pound. The whole point of the lottery is for people like me winning a life changing prize so we hopefully don't have to work again. Seriously thinking of stopping it after playing from day one.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The updated Lotto game now gives players 2 chances to win prizes of £1 million or more in every draw. This has meant reducing some of the lower-tier prizes. Since these changes were introduced, Lotto has created 56 new millionaires!

Less and less jackpot

On saturdays, the lottery prize used to always start at least on £3.8M. Now it is £2M. Something funny going on. A Saturday + Wednesday rollover is now £2.8m. So where's the jackpot money going because a rollover used to be at least £5M. Rip-off and hopefully they'll lose enough people that they go under. It'll serve them right.

Have cancelled my account since Alwyn…

Have cancelled my account since Alwyn wrecked the website. I was buying bulk tickets, Wed and Sat until the reduction in prizes for small wins. Then I stopped as I might as well enter Euromillions and win nothing there. No Lottery tickets, even scratchcards since then. Powerball- that's a joke. Thought I'd buy a single entry for today's Lotto and Tesco can only sell two weeks at obviously twice the price. No wonder there wasn't a queue. The Regulator and Parliament need to stop this.

New changes ruined it.

I used to play every week now its just not worth it, the 2 draw gimmick is a joke and prize money is a pittance now way to go killing the game for everyone.

As many predicted

As many predicted. This format change is awful. No one I know plays anymore. Someone has badly miscalculated. We used to be inspired to play again by a £30 3-number win.

When there is a poor review, all the responses seem to offer is that there are lots of millionaires. Read the room ! Most people would like a few small decent wins with just the chance of a bigun.

Such a shame. Plus less money for good causes now.

The UK lottery changes are a rip off

The UK lottery changes are a rip off. Ive just got 1 number on 1st round of lotto and 2 numbers in the 2nd round of lotto and won the princely sum of £1 not even covering the cost of the ticket. Buying scratch cards is also dreadful you might as well put your money down the grid. I imagine the company that runs it is making nice profits though. I am making a change and not playing it anymore even though I know some charities get a share it is just giving out less and less to us the people who give to these charities and we are also lining the pockets of Alwyn shareholders in the process. Just say NO!

The latest changes to the UK lottery…

The latest changes to the UK lottery have made the whole experience worse. It feels like a corporate change rather than a customer led change. I much prefer the old lottery to this new one. At least if you won a smaller prize it felt like a win, even the free lucky dip line was better. I hope Allwyn change their mind back to the way it was, as far as I can see fewer people are playing this and no one I know likes the new format of games. Feels like an attempt at making more profit than a customer centric decision.

On Wednesday 19th August, a total of 6 millionaires were made in the Lotto draw, and 5 of those were in Round 2 of the draw, which wouldn't have happened before the changes.

Strong email to Allwyn

If anyone is interested after several back and forward emails to Allwyn - I have sent this - I just hope others follow:

Thank you for your response.

Again, however, your reply does not answer any of the questions I have raised, nor does it properly address the substance of my complaint.

I am not interested in Hotpicks, and I did not ask about Hotpicks. Please stop diverting my complaint towards a subject that is entirely separate from the concerns I have raised.

You state that the new format “should” create more millionaires. However, this is precisely the issue I am questioning, because the reality does not appear to support that assertion. Simply stating that something “should” happen is not an answer to my concerns about what is actually happening.

More importantly, you have still failed to address the central point of my complaint: the very large number of complaints being made about the changes. I understand that Allwyn is receiving hundreds of thousands of complaints from customers. If that figure is incorrect, then I expect you to provide the actual number of complaints received. If it is correct, I expect Allwyn to acknowledge the scale of the issue and explain what it is doing to investigate and rectify the concerns being raised.

Furthermore, asking me to “check out the link” does nothing to answer the questions I have raised.

I therefore ask you to answer the following questions directly:

How many complaints has Allwyn received regarding the changes I have complained about?
How many of these complaints are still outstanding?
What are the most common issues being raised by customers?
Has Allwyn formally investigated the reasons for this unprecedented level of dissatisfaction?
What specific action is Allwyn taking in response to these complaints?
Is Allwyn considering any changes to the current format as a result of the complaints being received?
Who within Allwyn is responsible for reviewing and acting upon this customer feedback?
When can customers reasonably expect to see any changes or corrective action as a result?
I am not looking for another generic explanation of the new format, nor am I asking for information about other games. I am asking Allwyn to acknowledge the concerns being raised by its customers and explain, with some transparency, what it is actually doing about them.

Please therefore treat this as a formal request for a substantive response to my complaint. I would appreciate direct answers to the questions above rather than another general statement about how the new format is intended to work.

I look forward to receiving a response that actually addresses my concerns.

Don't bother with the powerball

Don't bother with the powerball. The odds are so crap of winning anything due to they've increased the amount of numbers you have to select plus a £4 price tag. Needs stopping. Just encouraging bad gambling.

Hi Rob, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Powerball is new to the UK, but has been in the US since 1992. The UK version of Powerball has been specially tailored for UK players and costs £4 per line.

Alongside playing for the shared jackpot, UK players get extra guaranteed value, including a unique £8 Match 2 prize that does not exist in the US and a fixed £1M prize for matching five numbers.
