Terrible, rip-off and not fun anymore

Terrible - As a UK National Lottery player of over 20 years I'm of the view that the new operator Allwyn has completely ruined what was a fun and enjoyable experience.

The new Lotto prize structure of £1 for Match 2 and a measly £10 for Match 3 is absolutely ridiculous and even though they are doing more frequent "Must Be Won" events like the recent £12M Must Be Won on Saturday 10th October, we still had a situation where there were no Match 6 jackpot winners or any Match 5+Bonus winners.

Coupled with the rip-off £4 Powerball Game, frequent App glitches and terrible scratch card/instant win payouts I'm seriously considering stopping playing now.

The Licence needs to be urgently reviewed.

Hi Daniel, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

With the updated Lotto game, every £2 line now gives players two chances to win in a single draw, with the same numbers automatically entered into both rounds. While this has meant reductions to some of the prize tiers, players also have the opportunity to win a prize in both rounds. Since the changes were made in June, we have made 77 millionaires through Lotto.

Regarding Saturday's £12M Must Be Won draw, as there were no jackpot winners, a rolldown took place. This meant the jackpot prize money was distributed across the eligible lower prize tiers. For example, the match 3 prize was increased from £10 to £35.

Hi Mikey, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

Sorry to hear you haven't have much luck. As with all of our games, there is chance of winning but it is not guaranteed.

With our Instant Win Games, there is an infinite number of prizes in the pool. For example, if the odds state 1 in 2.81, then this will be a 1 in 2.81 chance of winning every time you play. The odds of the game reset after every game played.

Our games might not be easy, but it is possible and players do win. You can read about some of our Instant Win game winners below.

£122,000 can actually be life changing for a lot of peple

Why not split the £12,000,000 between the 98 people who won the thousand pounds (closest to the jackpot); they would have won approx. £122,000 each, pay the mortgage off?, get on the property ladder, but a new car and have a luxury holiday? donate a very large sum of money to a charity.
98 people could do a lot with there £122,000; just saying; right I'm off out to buy a pint with my fiver.

What can I say, it's not going to be me

What can I say. I use to run a corner shop in London well before this lottery started. In those days you knew people who won prizes in competitions.

I've been playing this lottery since ot started back in the old days and I have never won more then £20 and in my whole 35 years I've probably only won £150.

I've lost faith in British Gaming . Spain and the USA know how to do lottery games.

I'm getting tired of all this and it's definitely like being inside a matrix hoping for change that will never come because it's all part of the matrix and only a few select will ever see a life changing situation with this lottery.

Alwyn rip off merchants ruined lotto, prizes a joke now, will not play again

Played lotto every draw since it started, had some decent wins but never the big ones but enough to keep me playing. But now, since this bunch of cowboys Alwyn have taken over it is not worth the money, the prizes are a total joke and have gone backwards. Back in the 90s I won £1100 for the same numbers that they’re now offering a prize of £1000. Absolutely ridiculous, i will never ever do the lotto again and would rather pay my money to somewhere else where the jackpot prizes may be smaller but the smaller prizes are at least worth winning it. Bring back Camelot, Allwyn are a bunch of cowboys rip off merchants.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

We introduced changes to Lotto in June, giving players even more chances to win. With the updated game, every £2 entry now provides two chances to win in the same draw, including two opportunities to win £1 million or more. While some lower-tier prizes have been reduced, the changes have helped create 76 new millionaires since launch.

Its not just about wining the jackpot

Its not just about wining the jackpot. The odds of doing so are incredibly low. Im disappointed by the change in the prizes for lower tiers. People who play the lotto every week do so for the occasional win. (Of course we'd all like to win the jackpot!) but Ten pounds for 3 numbers is pathetic when the cost of a ticket is two pounds. And taking away free lucky dips for two numbers and replacing it with a pound! Wtf! You should change it back to how it was or you risk loosing a lot of customers. And NOW you've changed the must be won prizes too!? No rewards for 5 and 4 numbers? Just for two and three. thats hardly fair.. no incentive to play anymore. Rubbish.

Where do I start?!?

Where do I start?!?! I run a syndicate. Was purchasing tickets for an event draw this Saturday (at the cost of £24) and the tickets looked like they didn't purchase - there was a technical error presented within the ticket window... Tried again... Same issue. Navigated away and clicked into the lotto instead of the event page link and the ticket purchase finally worked, only to then notice that the ticket attempts had all purchased (even the error page ones) and our wallet was down £72 instead £24 (all within 60 seconds and all the same numbers per transaction). I've had many emails and phone calls to lotto and getting nowhere! I'm taking this further now with resolver and if I don't get sorted there I'll be contacting trading standards. It's a disgrace! After reading your other reviews, I can clearly see that the lotto is not what it used to be. So disappointing and unfair. Why should we have to pay for lotto website malfunctions? I think it's time to pursue other syndicate options and will be speaking to all players on my team about it.

I've played the National Lottery since it started. It's rubbish since they changed it. I get an email saying 'Congratulations, you've won a prize'. I looked and won £1 this week and £2 last week. Goodness knows how much I've spent over the years. I'm going to stop playing.

Hi Mrs Pugh, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot.

The updated Lotto game now gives players 2 chances to win prizes of £1 million or more in every draw. This has meant reducing some of the lower-tier prizes. In the first 100 days of New Lotto we made 69 millionaires!
