Shambles of a bank!! Avoid if you can

Shambles of a bank!!

I have been told my business bank was closing randomly with no more information.

I asked if my personal account would close to which I was told on the 14th May "I can confirm that the only account closing is your business account"

So we try and switch to barclays which they say we couldnt do because they are different company details.

Then today I find out my personal account is frozen and i cant get the money out.

It can be transferred to a different account but that will take 7-10 business days.

The problem is I go on holiday in two days with now no money and no personal account.

I might as well cancel the holiday.

Got to take the day off work tomorrow to try and sort a personal account.

Heartless company with no sympathy.

It does what it says on the tin.

I love the way you are notified literally instantly as to any transactions, that way you know what you’ve spent and what your balance is too.
Also the top up account lets you save all your small change and your main account is all whole pounds.

Amazing

They changed over my bank to the Monzo so I didn’t have to faff about doing it all myself. You also get paid a day early which is cool and the way that it’s set up makes it so much easier to go into your banking and sort out your money 10/10 recommend this bank!

Still my main bank after years

I’ve been with Monzo since 2018 and it’s still my main day-to-day bank. The app is easy to use, spending notifications are instant, and features like Pots, budgeting tools, Flex, cashback offers and using the card abroad have all been really useful over the years.

The thing Monzo does best is making banking feel simple. I like being able to see exactly where my money is going and manage most things from the app without needing to go into a branch or wait on the phone.

It’s not perfect. Support used to feel quicker and more personal in the early days, and there have been times where responses felt a bit slower or more scripted than they used to. I also think some areas, like credit score issues or support around financial difficulty, could be explained more clearly.

That said, I still trust Monzo and choose to keep using it as my main spending account because the app works well, the features are genuinely useful, and it makes managing money easier than most traditional banks I’ve used.
