The miele engineer arrived promptly. Fixed my washing machine and provided advice on how to prevent issues in the future.

Two separate engineers came to solve the original problem and the second engineer who came after the first one disagreed with the first one . Although the original problem appears to have been solved I am not totally convinced it has been!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Miele has been so poor that I feel compelled to warn others.
I booked a dishwasher repair on 25 June, with the earliest available appointment being 13 July. After waiting almost three weeks, Miele cancelled the appointment on the morning it was due to take place.
The next available appointment was 28 July. I explained that I already had a pre-paid appointment that morning which could not be moved and, because Miele had cancelled my original appointment, I specifically asked for an afternoon visit. I was assured this would be arranged.
Instead, I received a text the day before confirming an engineer would arrive between 10:30 and 11:27. I immediately contacted Miele and explained the situation, only to be told there was nothing they could do because there were no notes on the system. After multiple phone calls (including two disconnected calls), I was told the next appointment would be 4 August. I made it clear this was completely unacceptable after already waiting so long.
To accommodate Miele, I reluctantly cancelled my pre-paid appointment and stayed at home waiting for the engineer.
The engineer never arrived.
When I phoned Miele to find out what had happened, I was astonished to be told that my appointment had been moved to 4 August. Nobody had informed me. I received no phone call, no email and no text message advising that my appointment had been cancelled or rescheduled.
To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told this wasn’t possible and that someone might contact me within 48 hours. That response simply compounded an already unacceptable situation.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I have been an exceptionally loyal Miele customer for many years. Over that time, I have purchased 15 Miele kitchen appliances and 3 Miele vacuum cleaners because I believed I was buying not only outstanding products but also outstanding customer service. Sadly, this experience has shown me that once they have your money, the level of after-sales support falls woefully short of the premium image they promote.
The communication has been appalling, appointments have been cancelled without proper notification, promises have not been honoured, I have wasted hours of my time, and I even incurred financial loss by cancelling a pre-paid appointment to wait for an engineer who never arrived.
This experience has completely destroyed my confidence in the Miele brand. Despite purchasing 18 Miele products over the years, I will never buy another Miele appliance again, and I cannot recommend the company to anyone looking for premium products backed by premium customer service.
The quality of the appliances may be excellent, but if something goes wrong, my experience suggests you should not expect the level of support that a premium price should guarantee.

Engineer on time, polite and helpful. He did the work as in the error code. Unfortunately, two weeks on, the machine still sometimes leaves washing wet; something 'drain and spin' does not rectify on the first attempt and so requires several uses of this program.

The service engineer was very polite and did a perfect job and cleaned up the the end.

The engineer was very knowledgeable and thorough, also gave me advice about my coffee machine which I managed to fix myself, thanks

My tumble dryer had a problem. I booked a repair, only to.be told that the repair would.cost way more than the advertised "Fixed price repair". Subsequent extensive follow up from me has failed to get action. Their website claim of "Total peace of mind" for such a repair is demonstrably false. Miele claims.to be a reputable company but acts like a backstreet trickster company.

**Premium product - maybe, Very poor service - Definitely**
I purchased a Miele WEJ885 washing machine for £1,774, including delivery, installation and removal of my old appliance (also a Miele Great machine - 20+ yrs old).
The pre-delivery communication was confused and duplicative, with repeated date changes and an impractical delivery window. During installation, packaging was left behind and the transit brackets were taken rather than left with the appliance.
Miele later acknowledged that the service (Before delivery & During) was "unacceptable" and said it would provide replacement transit brackets and complimentary TwinDos products. I was also told that possible compensation was being discussed.
Despite several calls and a formal written follow-up on 15 July, I have received NO resolution, NO replacement brackets, NO compensation and no response within the deadline provided.
I am also still waiting for confirmation of the promotional 10-year warranty applied for on 11 June. Again NO response.
Nearly seven weeks after installation, the matter remains unresolved.
The appliance may be premium, but the pre-delivery, delivery & installation and complaint handling have not been!
I will update this review if Miele provides a proper resolution.
[Update – 4 August 2026] Partial progress, but the main complaint remains unresolved
Following further escalation, Miele has now issued the 10-year warranty certificate, the promised replacement transit rods and UltraPhase products on 31 July. Those individual items are resolved.
The central complaint is not.
The complaint concerns the cumulative service failure: 14 separate pre-delivery communications from Miele and ArrowXL, repeated delivery-date changes, duplicate or no-change notifications, an initial delivery window of 07:00–19:00 that was later widened to 07:00–21:00, and the eventual 2-hr slot only being communicated late on the evening before delivery.
During delivery and installation, packaging was left behind on the drive, the transit rods were taken rather than retained with the appliance, and there was no adequate handover. I then had to de-install the newly installed machine and remove the rear covers myself to confirm that the rods had been removed correctly before using it.
The post-delivery complaint handling has added further problems. I have repeatedly had to restate information already held by Miele, correct misunderstandings, revisit matters previously agreed and set my own deadlines because no clear owner or resolution timetable was provided.
Miele did not respond substantively by my 3 Aug deadline. Nearly 8 wks after installation, and more than 7 wks after my formal complaint, it has still not provided a decision on refunding the paid installation charge, addressed the separate goodwill compensation requested, named a senior complaint owner or given a firm timetable for concluding the matter.
Miele has said that its Complaints Department is reviewing the remaining issues, while explaining that and I quote “the team is currently managing a high volume of cases” and asking for further patience.
I have now followed up again and requested Miele’s substantive written decision. If it is unable or unwilling to resolve the complaint, I have asked for its final written position and details of any applicable independent dispute-resolution process.
A service failure that continues to cost both customer and company
[Update 27 Jul] - Warranty Y/N/Maybe
I later discovered through my online Miele account that the promotional 10-year warranty was active, but Miele had never sent the promised confirmation or certificate. Their complaint handler then asked me for proof of purchase and a bank statement, despite the appliance having been purchased directly from Miele and the warranty already being recorded in their system.

Technician arrived on time, was polite, clean and tidy. Immediately identified the problem with the washing machine but discovered that a part was required that needed to be ordered. Returned a few days later and fitted the required part. Everything totally satisfactory.

Miele’s parts department is a nightmare, and they let another company trade on their name.
My washing machine broke down two months ago. I contacted NAC Domestic Appliances, believing them to be affiliated with Miele due to the prominent Miele branding and logo displayed all over their website. Miele has since confirmed NAC has no affiliation with them whatsoever, yet as far as I’m aware, nothing has been done about another company using their branding to appear as an authorised partner.
Separately, and more importantly, Miele’s parts department has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. The NAC engineer removed the broken part from the machine, which had its own reference number on it, and this was given directly to Miele. Despite having that information, Miele still sent the wrong part, which didn’t fit the machine.
The engineer then spent hours on the phone trying to get the correct part number out of Miele’s contact centre and eventually gave up, as nobody there seemed to know what they were doing. I’ve since spent many hours myself trying to speak to someone in the parts department who could actually help, and got nowhere. My husband has tried as well, with the same result.
When I’ve asked to have my complaint escalated, I keep being told I would need to pay £180 for one of Miele’s own engineers to come out and tell me what part I need, despite Miele already having the correct reference number from the broken part. Every time I ask for escalation, I get scripted replies saying they understand my frustration, with no actual progress.
At this point, we’re ready to throw the machine out and will never buy from Miele again. Two months without a working washing machine, a part reference number they were given directly and still got wrong, and no one across multiple calls able to resolve it. Very disappointing for a brand that trades on reliability and premium service.

I phoned to order a new freezer door seal for my fridge freezer. I was told this would be done and I thenchecked that the technician would bring the right one with him. I was reassured they would. When he came he did not have one with him because - he said - there are many kinds. He then said it was not possible to change the seal and it would need a new door for over £600. Obviously we did not want to proceed at that cost. I was sent a bill for £180.00. We would not hve booked a visit if we had known the seal was not replaceable. There is no response from Miele about this matter despite me raising a complaint and phoning 3 times.Promises to phone me back just dont happen. Miele just wants your money. Dont use this compnay. The products may be Ok but the support service and communication does not exist.
